According to some records discovered in Huaxia, these wise beings were referred to as Immortals, while in the West they were called Deities. No one knows why these individuals disappeared from history, only that they left behind countless treasures. Subsequently, humanity emerged, and some wise individuals learned from the knowledge left by these Immortals, becoming the later Transcendents.
However, where there are people, there are wars. The treasures left by the wise Immortals of ancient civilizations were not inexhaustible. Eventually, both Eastern and Western humanity began to fight over them. These conflicts may have occurred even before the establishment of human dynasties. The great wars caused changes in the Earth's Qi, resulting in large cracks appearing in the Spirit Barrier that protected the planet due to the battles of those Immortals and Deities.
The Earth fell into a deep winter, and countless lives were lost in this event. Although the ice eventually melted and revealed the surface once more, all the Deities and Immortals vanished after that battle. Ordinary humans emerged and established their presence on this planet. However, those who brought about the Ice Age were not viewed as demons by these ordinary humans; instead, they were seen as objects of faith.
This is the origin of the legends surrounding Eastern and Western Deities and Immortals. Generations passed in this manner, yet two hidden forces continued to exist beyond the world of ordinary people: the realm of Transcendents and Yin Si. When Jiang Xing recounted this tale, Xiao Yefeng was astonished and asked the most pressing question: Do these realms and Yin Si truly exist among us?
Jiang Xing provided a definitive answer: whether in the human realm or in the realms beyond, or even within Yin Si, they all genuinely exist. However, both realms are concealed by Dao, and only those chosen can learn of their existence through Inner Force. The realm exists outside of humanity while maintaining stability in the world; no one knows its location. In contrast, Yin Si is indeed real.
By entering Inner Force, False Spiritual Power transforms into True Spiritual Power, allowing one to freely project their spirit outward. By descending into the depths of the Earth enveloped by Blazing Soul Ghost Flame—a chasm thousands of meters deep—one can enter Yin Si. However, since Blazing Soul Ghost Flame specifically targets spiritual entities and souls, no one can currently access Yin Si. Nevertheless, agents of Yin Si still exist among humans; they could be children making faces while urinating on street corners or homeless individuals staring blankly while smoking by the roadside, or even ordinary workers bustling about.
Yet this is merely Jiang Xing's background; the true story began long ago—how long exactly, Jiang Xing did not know. During the era of Ancient Huaxia, Feudal Dynasties dominated Huaxia. It was during this time that some tombs belonging to Immortals and Deities who had perished in battle were discovered, leading to a new age of deities.
However, despite being an age of deities, the wars fought by those Immortals and Deities had shattered Earth's Spirit Barrier. The spiritual energy on Earth had dwindled significantly; only those with extraordinary talents could stand out. While flying away was not an issue at that time, breaking through space like the first generation of Immortals or cleaving through the heavens with swords was nothing more than an illusion.
Unfortunately, those who gained power ultimately followed in the footsteps of previous generations of Immortals and Deities—war after war once again engulfed Earth. The once-flying deities suffered heavy losses once more; many cultivation methods disappeared again, leaving only a few rare remnants that contributed to today's exceptional individuals.
Yet human nature remains prone to conflict; even though these non-human powers have nearly vanished entirely, battles continue today. The mine beneath Flower Mountain Park has been confirmed as a likely site for Ancient Ruins. The Metaphysics Society—a new force—along with two major organizations from the East and Western entities such as the Church and Divine Descent Society have all extended their reach toward this place.
Xiao Yefeng found himself at the center of it all. The catalyst for everything was an organization called Perfect World—a Righteous Path organization from two generations ago. Whether it truly was a Righteous Path organization is debatable; two generations refer specifically to cultivators' lifespan limitations rather than ordinary people's generations.
Regardless of East or West, cultivators can enjoy extended lifespans. This isn't particularly frightening since spiritual energy is so scarce; after advancing in cultivation, lifespan increases are significantly reduced. In the era of first-generation Immortals and Deities, entering Mingjing—essentially absorbing False Spiritual Power—could extend one's lifespan by sixty years; thus one could live at least one hundred fifty years without illness or disaster. Jiang Xing, a person who has barely stepped into the peak of True Spiritual Power, knows that taking that final step would grant a cultivator at least an additional five cycles of life, which translates to three hundred years—meaning that once they enter this realm, they could potentially live for five hundred years.
However, with the significant reduction in spiritual energy and the complete disappearance of Fairy Grass Spirit Plants, even Jiang Xing can only ensure a healthy life until around one hundred and fifty years. As for how long those who have entered this realm can live, Jiang Xing is uncertain; it has been a century since anyone has managed to take that step.
In today's world, extraordinary individuals consider one hundred and fifty years as a generation. Two generations ago, which is three hundred years back, the Perfect World emerged. At that time, there was no distinction between good and evil; the Perfect World was created by all cultivators uniting their Martial Arts Cultivation techniques under the noble goal of establishing a true Perfect World, restoring the era of the original immortals and deities.
However, as time passed, this dream became something only achievable in dreams. The density of spiritual energy could not be restored, leading to changes among the members of the Perfect World. In their quest for longevity and further advancement, some chose extreme measures while others who remained true to their hearts opted to leave the organization.
Thus began a civil war among those who established the Perfect World, ultimately resulting in the defeat and disappearance of the extremists. The Perfect World faded away, but its members did not give up; instead, they went underground, gradually giving rise to what are now known as the Eastern New Forces and the Western Divine Descent Society. Overall, both organizations are branches of the original Perfect World, though their current leaders remain unaware—or perhaps unwilling to acknowledge—this fact.
About half a generation ago—approximately one hundred years back—the Perfect World reemerged. This time, it acted without any extreme behavior. After occupying a spiritual stone vein overnight and emptying it out completely, they vanished from sight until twenty years ago when they resurfaced due to Xiao Wen, who is Xiao Yefeng's father.
Currently, the Metaphysics Society understands the schemes of the Perfect World. Over these years, members of the Perfect World have infiltrated new forces and the Divine Descent Society. In Xiao Yefeng's words, they are "borrowing a chicken to lay eggs," secretly serving the interests of the Perfect World by searching for spiritual stone veins and exploring Ancient Ruins—remnants buried deep underground since ancient times belonging to Second-Generation Immortals and deities.
Within these Tombs lie complete cultivation methods in some cases, while others contain sinister techniques or ancient elixirs left behind by immortals and deities from bygone eras. Consuming any one of these elixirs could dramatically enhance one's power. Although it remains unclear what exactly Xiao Wen obtained back then, it is evident that the Xiao Family faced relentless pursuit from the Perfect World.
No one knows for certain—not even Xiao Yefeng, who is aware of everything that transpired—what his father left behind. Currently, all he possesses from his father's legacy are the Seven Star Needle and the Bagua Mirror obtained from Aunt Qing. Beyond these two items, nothing else remains!
Xiao Yefeng does not fully understand this situation; however, this information was not solely derived from Jiang Xing.
