"Yuan, it's time to get up," she opened her eyes slightly, and her vision was blurry.
"Are you going out?" An Yuan asked, looking at Zhang Moyan dressed neatly.
"You forgot? You were supposed to go to the hospital for a regular check-up today." An Yuan shook his somewhat sluggish mind, as if there was such a thing, and he suddenly felt a little unhappy.
"Go every month, and the results are always the same. Do I really need to go this time?" An Yuan yawned, wanting to sleep. The fatigue in his body had not eased after resting, but rather intensified, except the place where he had fallen didn't hurt as much as before.
Upon seeing An Yuan's fatigue, Zhang Moyan's face revealed a hint of concern.
"If you don't go this time, Dr. Xu will pester you with questions again next time, and won't let you off easily," An Yuan is most afraid of trouble, and Zhang Moyan knows his little temper very well, so deliberately said.
An Yuan listened and immediately frowned, getting up. Zhang Moyan took out thick clothes from the wardrobe and wrapped An Yuan in them.
The hospital was always filled with the pungent smell of disinfectant, which was one of the reasons An Yuan didn't like to go there. Another reason was the person in charge of his body, Dr. Xu, who either dragged him around or kept pestering Zhang Moyan endlessly.
"Have something to eat, or you'll get hungry later."
An Yuan leaned wearily against the seatbelt and looked at the milk in front of him. Just the thought of the hospital's smell made him lose his appetite.
An Yuan reflected, and Zhang Moyan saw it, but didn't say anything. Instead, he pressed down on the accelerator with his foot.
In the hospital corridor, there were many betas, both patients and family members, all looking unwell. Zhang Moyan kept An Yuan within the circle of his arms and walked towards Dr. Xu's office.
The office door is not closed, and Dr. Xu is writing something at the desk.
"Dr. Xu." Zhang Moyan knocked on the door.
"You're here, please have a seat."
An Yuan sat down across from Dr. Xu and then reached out to rest his hand on the soft cushion on the table.
Dr. Xu is very young, but has already become an expert physician at Omega. His skills are definitely top-notch, and his ability to observe and understand from facial expressions is equally impressive. Just by glancing at Zhang Moyan's face, Dr. Xu knows for sure that An Yuan has been having recent health issues, so he conducts a more thorough examination.
After a full set of examinations, An Yuan slumps in the chair, not wanting to move at all.
Dr. Xu raised his glasses and put on a big smile.
"Congratulations, An Yuan has a new baby."
Dr. Xu's words shocked both of them, bringing surprise to Zhang Moyan and astonishment to An Yuan.
Zhang Moyan looked at the stunned An Yuan, feeling a softness in her heart. After waiting for three years, heaven will not disappoint the devoted.
"Now An Yuan is already a key protected object, Zhang Moyan, you can't be careless."
Faced with Dr. Xu's teasing, Zhang Moyan suddenly felt a little flustered. When An Yuan was alone, he was already held dearly in his heart, and now with the addition of a baby, he didn't know where to place An Yuan anymore.
"I can do it." Zhang Moyan forced herself to calm down, but her hand clenched tightly in her pocket.
Dr. Xu withdrew his smile and solemnly advised, "The baby is only two months old and still in a critical period, very fragile. So Xiao Yuan must not misbehave, otherwise the baby will get sick."
An Yuan nodded and gently touched her flat belly with her right hand.
This small, narrow space is nurturing a new life.
Raise your head and look at the one embracing you, Zhang Moyan. They have been together for three years, and An Yuan has only seen Zhang Moyan this happy once, when they first became partners.
But when did this happiness start to disappear? A year ago? Two years ago? An Yuan can't remember at all.
"There are some things that need to be emphasized. Zhang Moyan, come over," Dr. Xu stood up.
"Be good, I'll be back in a moment," Zhang Moyan kissed An Yuan, then followed Dr. Xu, and the two of them went behind the white screen.
The office quieted down. An Yuan lowered her head and gently caressed her belly.
It is said that when a person dies, their life flashes before their eyes - the moments of joy, sadness, and regret. At this special moment of a new life arriving, An Yuan couldn't help but start to reflect.
The details that were once overlooked in the past, are now flashing through An Yuan's mind. An Yuan understands better than anyone how long Zhang Moyan has been looking forward to this child.
