Mousse's Wolf Beast Transformation was indeed different. Compared to the wolf-like Gene Warriors that Xiao Yefeng had seen before, Mousse's Half-Beast Transformation had a purer coat color. While the fur of ordinary wolf Gene Warriors was a light gray, Mousse's limbs were covered in silvery-gray fur. As Wu Kui's figure gradually faded away, only he could hear his murmured words. Meanwhile, Xiao Yefeng had already joined Sophia and Alu and urged them to leave quickly. Thus, he moved closer to the entrance alone under cover.
On the battlefield between the two teams, things had escalated to a fever pitch. Eager to save others, Mousse transformed into a werewolf and instantly knocked two members of Chris's team aside. With a swipe of his claws, both fell unconscious without even activating their Gene Warrior states. On the other side, Athena displayed her might; Chris clearly understood Athena's strength and dared not confront her claws.
Chris had activated her Gene Warrior state as well. At that moment, Xiao Yefeng realized why Chris wore such a specially designed outfit with an opening at the back despite her already alluring figure. Initially thinking it was due to her personality, he now understood: six spikes as thick as wrists protruded from her ribs.
Combined with Chris’s original arms, Xiao Yefeng deduced that her genes must have come from some kind of spider; these six spikes were jointed and could bend freely while each bore rows of backward-facing barbs. This black bear was Sigaeo, activated in Gene Warrior mode. Originally already quite robust, he became even more formidable after entering this state. Thick pads formed on his massive hands, and his black fur grew rapidly. Just moments ago, when Xiao Yefeng approached the lower entrance, he nearly exposed himself due to Sigaeo's attack. Sigaeo had just struck one of Chris's team members with a powerful blow that smashed into a nearby vehicle.
The force of the strike crumpled the car door, sending the vehicle flying toward another member of Chris's team. Like Sigaeo, this Machine Gunner was also an elite member of the Gene Warriors and had received the best Gene Serum available. However, unlike Sigaeo, this individual had slightly brownish-yellow fur and was somewhat smaller in stature.
This was the difference in their capabilities. When faced with Sigaeo's attack, the Machine Gunner stumbled backward to avoid it as the car slid past the grass behind Xiao Yefeng, almost revealing his position. At that moment, Xiao Yefeng finally grasped the strength of his teammates. However, with no one guarding the lower entrance, he could no longer afford to watch from the sidelines and stealthily made his way toward the main door.
“Crazy woman! Is it worth offending us over a mere friend?” Chris said after blocking Na's attack with six spider-like bone spikes that shot out from behind him, forcing her back.
“Enough chatter! The madman isn't here; we’ll protect the woman he likes,” Athena replied, perhaps due to her Gene Warrior state, licking her lips repeatedly as sharp Fang Teeth emerged.
Chris paused for a moment upon hearing this before bursting into laughter. “You crazy woman! You still think about that? Let me tell you, even if you manage to rescue Consort Mi from our base today, she is still under our lord’s protection—that can’t be changed! What can that madman do? If he were here now, I could kill him with just one finger! Do you really think he can compare to us anymore?”
The two Goddesses clashed with their bone spikes and claws in fierce combat. However, this exchange left Xiao Yefeng—who was secretly trying to enter the underground passage—stunned. He never imagined that his position held such significance in the hearts of his teammates. They were willing to offend their own faction for him; moreover, he hadn’t realized they were coming to rescue Consort Mi simply because he once liked her.

If he revealed himself now, it would truly endanger them. In his agitation, he accidentally brushed against some nearby weeds; the slight movement of the grass caught Zhebie’s attention from afar.
The Sniper Rifle shifted its aim toward the dense thicket where Xiao Yefeng hid. Although well-concealed in the shadows of night, Xiao Yefeng’s hiding spot was still vulnerable. Even with night vision optics on Zhebie’s rifle, it remained unclear whether anyone was present there. Zhebie wondered if he had misseen something when he noticed movement among the grass.
However, there were no signs of battle nearby; it shouldn’t have been swaying without wind. The surrounding grass remained calm; only that isolated movement raised suspicions for this seasoned sniper.
Instinctively sensing danger as Zhebie aimed his rifle at him, Xiao Yefeng felt a chill run down his spine. At that moment, he couldn’t tell whether it was Zhebie or Chris’s sniper from Virgin’s side targeting him. Therefore, he remained perfectly still; if it were Zhebie, he would be safe—but if it were an enemy sniper and he exposed himself, it could lead to fatal consequences.
Nowadays, things are different. The Sniper Rifle has undergone numerous upgrades, and the most powerful Sniper Rifle can now penetrate five centimeters of bulletproof armor. Not even the True Spirit Pinnacle can withstand such a level of sniping; even Jiang Xing would struggle against it. After forcing Chris back, Athena was surprised by Zhebie's words and quickly scanned her surroundings. Seeing nothing unusual, she and Sigaeo immediately unleashed their full strength to hold back the enemies in front of them, forcing the entrance to the basement open. At this point, neither Chris nor her teammates could get close. Sigaeo's robust body moved closer to the entrance as he drew two heavy machine guns from behind him. With a rapid burst of fire, a semi-circular field of fire was established.
Meanwhile, Zhebie no longer concealed himself. He replaced the ten-centimeter-long Sniper Rifle bullet in his weapon with another magazine and fired directly at the large light at the entrance. Following that, a series of gunshots rang out as all the lights were extinguished. Seizing this opportunity, only Zhebie could see a black figure swiftly dart into the underground entrance. Before entering, a raised thumb was left as a final gesture directed at Zhebie.
