As Xiao Yefeng landed on the corpse of the Explosive Tooth Crocodile, which measured nearly four meters in length and floated like a massive log on the water, he found a suitable foothold. However, this came with its own risks; killing the Explosive Tooth Crocodile felt like poking a hornet's nest. In an instant, he sensed the presence of over a dozen powerful auras around him, all at the peak level of True Spirit.
The continuous sounds of battle echoed as Xiao Yefeng, having sustained a wound on his right shoulder, successfully traversed the swamp occupied by the Explosive Tooth Crocodile. At that moment, he held a water-blue gem the size of a button in his hand. This was the result of his last strike, where his Yin-Yang Sword pierced through the largest head of the Explosive Tooth Crocodile.
Xiao Yefeng could hardly imagine that such a small gem contained such potent spiritual energy. Just by attempting to absorb it slightly, he felt his depleted spiritual energy replenished. Miraculously, the wound on his shoulder had healed significantly, though it still remained; it no longer hindered his movements.
What is this thing? Why is it only found inside that one Explosive Tooth Crocodile's head? Realizing the benefits of this gem, Xiao Yefeng wasted no time. Under the power of his Yin-Yang Sword, he crushed the remaining Explosive Tooth Crocodiles on land with ease. Despite slaying over ten of them, he found nothing else.
It seemed that not every crocodile possessed such a gem. With this thought in mind, Xiao Yefeng stored the gem, still brimming with spiritual energy, in his Tricolor Jade Ring and moved toward the light ahead. The ground here was no longer damp; even the swamp had receded significantly. Yet, Xiao Yefeng sensed danger lurking nearby and faintly heard hissing sounds.
Soon enough, he spotted his exit and also identified the source of those hissing noises: a massive Swamp Python coiled around the light gate. The python stretched about eight to nine meters long and was as thick as a barrel. Its enormous head hung directly in front of the light gate, its forked tongue flicking in and out while its crimson eyes fixed on Xiao Yefeng.
What caught Xiao Yefeng's attention even more was what floated at the center of the light gate—a long robe with an ancient style radiating a faint glow. It was evident that this robe was extraordinary, but obtaining it would require overcoming this giant python first.
The python's enormous head swayed slightly as it regarded Xiao Yefeng with its scarlet eyes before launching an attack. Its tail struck against the light, propelling its massive body toward him like an arrow released from a bow. Normally, pythons lacked venomous fangs; however, as it opened its mouth wide, a foul wind rushed toward him. Two fang-like teeth glistened with yellowish liquid—Xiao Yefeng had no doubt that this creature was poisonous!
Yet such an attack was no match for Xiao Yefeng. Timing his movements perfectly, he stepped to the right to evade the python's charge and then raised his Yin-Yang Sword to slash at its neck.
With a sharp sound, his sword sliced through from behind its neck to seven inches down. However, just as his blade made contact, Xiao Yefeng felt a surge of water-blue inspiration emanating from the python's body. The sword met resistance as if striking armor; aside from leaving a white line across its scales, it achieved little else.
In an instant reversal of roles, the python had closed in on Xiao Yefeng. As it whipped its tail around in a sweeping motion aimed at him, it also expelled a stream of sticky liquid.
Xiao Yefeng deftly dodged the sweeping tail of the giant python, but he couldn't avoid the venom that splattered from its mouth. He managed to deflect most of it with his sword, yet a few drops still landed on him.
Despite his quick actions, the venom seeped through his skin and into his body. In an instant, he felt the world spinning around him, and everything before his eyes became a blur.
This is bad; such potent poison! He activated Carefree Righteousness to force the toxin to his fingertips, where he swiftly scraped it off with his nails. This series of movements was completed in a heartbeat, for Xiao Yefeng was already launching his counterattack.
The Bagua Mirror levitated into the air, and Water Armament reappeared. It enhanced the Yin-Yang Sword in his hand, while a spear over ten feet long formed beside it. The spear pointed at the python's Seven Inches and began to spin rapidly. At that moment, Xiao Yefeng unleashed an ice spear that struck the giant python, causing it to shudder. In that instant, the Yin-Yang Sword pierced through the python's Seven Inches, slicing open its vital spot before Xiao Yefeng recalled it using Sword Control Technique.
A painful hiss escaped the python's mouth as its two crimson eyes locked onto Xiao Yefeng. Realizing it was nearing its end, the python went mad; it had ruled this territory for so long without encountering a foe, and now it would die trying to take Xiao Yefeng down with it.
Blood continued to pour from its Seven Inches wound as the python felt increasingly weak. Suddenly, a flash of blue Inspiration enveloped its body; in a desperate surge of power, it unleashed an attack with double its strength. Two sharp Venomous Fangs shot forth, releasing a torrent of venom. The fangs then detached from its mouth like flying daggers aimed directly at Xiao Yefeng. With thick fog surrounding them and the fangs being a milky white color, Xiao Yefeng failed to notice their approach until it was almost too late.
By the time he realized what was happening, the Venomous Fangs were already upon him. A wave of danger and death surged into his consciousness, triggering his Beastification mode. Under the pressure of imminent death, Xiao Yefeng's Beastification state activated spontaneously once more. Just like when he had been stimulated by that potion before, he was now covered in spiked scales with red eyes glowing ominously.
However, thanks to Consort Mi's earlier sacrifice, both of them had completely shed their aftereffects. Therefore, Xiao Yefeng's mind remained clear as he swung his sword arm. In a fraction of a second, he blocked one of the Venomous Fangs that had nearly pierced his chest. Although he successfully deflected the first fang aimed at his Heart, the second fang managed to slice through his skin.
Though it was quickly knocked away by his sword, the python's most potent venom still entered Xiao Yefeng's body. A burning pain radiated from within him due to Beastification; if he had been in human form during this agony, he would have lost consciousness. But in this state, losing consciousness meant waiting for death from poisoning!
As they say, where there is great poison, there is usually an antidote within three steps. This giant python's venom was so strong that its antidote must also be derived from itself. Stumbling forward as if crawling through mud and venomous liquid, Xiao Yefeng reached the lifeless body of the python. Feeling that his Beastification state was about to give out and without time for careful searching, he thrust his hand into the gaping wound created by his sword and pulled out a snake gallbladder as large as a fist. Without hesitation or cleaning it up, he swallowed it whole.
The rancid smell and intense bitterness jolted Xiao Yefeng’s senses awake. He took out a mostly intact water-blue gemstone from his Tricolor Jade Ring and began absorbing spiritual energy to combat the snake venom. This process felt excruciatingly difficult like Hell of Blades; fortunately, this gallbladder was indeed the best antidote. After exhausting all the energy from the gemstone in his hand, Xiao Yefeng finally regained consciousness.

Looking at the thick, barrel-like head of the giant snake, Xiao Yefeng wondered if there might be such a treasure. With that thought, he reached for the Yin-Yang Sword and plunged it into the creature's neck. When he pulled the sword out, a thumb-sized, deep blue gemstone was stuck to the blade. Seeing this made Xiao Yefeng smile; it was just as he had hoped!
He touched the gemstone and found it to be even better than the one he had obtained from the Explosive Tooth Crocodile. It seemed that such gemstones could only be produced in the brains of powerful beasts. This giant python was significantly stronger than the Explosive Tooth Crocodile, and thus the gemstone was larger. It appeared that the stronger the beast, the better the gemstone produced. He decided to call it a Beast Core! After all, he couldn't understand what was written on the jade slip.
After collecting the gemstone he named Beast Core, Xiao Yefeng walked toward the light gate. He truly felt that this was a stroke of luck; his clothes had been corroded by snake venom into rags. Although there was another set of clothing in his Jade Ring, it was clear that this Ancient-Style Robe appealed to him much more.
