Chapter 71 Human United Federation
At that moment, Xiao Yefeng picked up a stone weighing about twenty to thirty pounds. He channeled his spiritual energy, transforming the stone into a beam of Golden Cyan Light that chased after the tire tracks. However, just as the stone was thrown, there was a thunderous explosion as the rock shattered into pieces. At this point, Davis and the others looked at Xiao Yefeng in astonishment.
Xiao Yefeng felt even more certain about his suspicions. Lily lightly brushed off the dust from her clothes and said, "Mr. Xiao, that was the reason you didn’t let Davis pursue, right?"
"Of course! Quantum sniper bullets, the latest technological research specifically designed to deal with Extraordinary Persons! America’s newest product!" Xiao Yefeng replied.
"But why would they do that?" Davis asked, puzzled.
Xiao Yefeng shook his head; he didn't know why either. From the rocket launchers earlier, he could tell this was a joint operation involving multiple countries. The dozen or so rocket launchers included models from America, Eagle Nation, and several other countries. The tire tracks originated from here, but through Xiao Yefeng's Observer's Eye, he noticed there were seven directions of retreat. Even if they pursued, they wouldn't be able to catch them all.
Moreover, the most crucial detail was that Xiao Yefeng spotted a missile launcher specifically designed for the Chinese Military. Although using a Chinese missile launcher didn't necessarily mean it belonged to the Huaxia People, Xiao Yefeng knew that this particular set was an internal supply meant for high-level military use in Huaxia.
"Yeah. I also want to know why these mysterious guys are using rockets indiscriminately against both enemies and allies!" Xiao Yefeng said.
"It's a pity we didn't take down Abel, that traitor!" Mark said bitterly.
At this point, Mark had lost too much blood; his already pale face looked even worse. Seeing his condition, everyone decided not to retreat but instead returned directly to the estate. By now, Abel's people had either been killed or fled. The estate had effectively reverted back to Ilyana, and Mark needed medical attention; this place was clearly the best option.
Since Ilyana's loyal servants had been expelled and Abel's servants had mostly scattered, only a few elderly servants remained in the estate. Fortunately, these individuals were left behind by Abel because they were familiar with the estate and didn’t care who was in charge. This worked out well; they could be instructed to bandage the injured while Xiao Yefeng made his way to the highest point of the estate.
Xiao Yefeng believed that those mysterious attackers would not return and trusted that Abel wouldn’t dare come back. However, he still needed to be cautious and had some matters to discuss with Jiang Xing. This mysterious attack involved forces from various countries; clearly, it wasn’t just a ragtag army.
The communicator lit up, projecting Jiang Xing's figure before Xiao Yefeng. Simultaneously, Xiao Yefeng's image appeared in front of Jiang Xing at Huaxia's Mysticism Society Base. After informing Jiang Xing of what had happened, Jiang Xing’s expression turned grave as he said, "Just as you suspected and observed, this organization is a coalition of various countries. However, it does not have authorization from any country's top leadership; Huaxia's top leader has rejected this proposal. Therefore, this organization is currently composed entirely of ordinary people and operates as a special agency with independent law enforcement powers. They have named their organization the Human United Federation!"
After the conversation with Jiang Xing, Xiao Yefeng understood everything. The conspiracy of Perfect World was no longer a secret; it had never truly been one. However, the current situation was such that anyone with a bit of power could be aware of it.
This situation led to the emergence of a pressing issue: individuals who believed that humanity was the only civilization worth preserving and that humans were the creators of everything had appeared. These people were wealthy, powerful, armed, and resourceful. They believed that by eliminating all those who possessed non-technological powers, they could solve the problem. Consequently, these individuals went mad, and during their assault on Xiao Yefeng and Abel, an event that would be recognized as the origin of the Third World War unfolded internationally.
Across various countries, there were attacks by unidentified individuals wielding weapons, all targeting Extraordinary Persons. Even the Feng Shui Master Headquarters Metaphysics Association in Huaxia was not spared. The same tactics were employed in rocket bombardments, but fortunately, the Metaphysics Society managed to intercept the rockets, resulting in no casualties.
The once peaceful Huaxia was now facing such turmoil; one can only imagine how other countries fared. The Church in America, the Werewolf Council in Eagle Nation, even Buddha Land in Fist Nation, and the Demon Tower in Wa Country were all subjected to similar assaults almost simultaneously.
It remains uncertain whether the Human United Federation is connected to Perfect World. However, one thing is clear: to some extent, the Human United Federation shares similar goals with Perfect World. At least in terms of interfering with those trying to stop Perfect World, the Human United Federation has aided them, and there have been no reports of attacks on Perfect World members by this federation.
The only good news at this moment is that the Liu Family and other similar families in Huaxia have been protected. Yet Xiao Yefeng felt an unsettling sense of foreboding. Whether due to the emergence of Divine Elixirs or Gene Serums or the rise of this Human United Federation, society's state seemed to be gradually changing.
Externally, Perfect World was scheming to unlock Ancient Ruins and turn Earth into a source of slavery. Internally, a new mysterious force—the Human United Federation—had emerged. This new organization posed an even greater threat than Perfect World because their methods showed a blatant disregard for ordinary lives; they would go to any lengths to eliminate Extraordinary Persons.
Moreover, these individuals utilized advanced technological products; the emergence of quantum sniper bullets served as proof of this. Fortunately, this type of bullet represented the pinnacle of human technological weaponry. However, using it to kill high-level Extraordinary Persons proved challenging since bullets do not curve—humans do!
As Xiao Yefeng pondered these matters, two Young Masters from Perfect World—Duo and Mie—were examining a map in search of its location. The map was ancient; although its general content was clear, changes in terrain due to geological movements rendered it nearly unrecognizable. Thus, despite possessing a perfect external map, they still struggled to locate the ruins indicated on it.
Suddenly, while comparing notes on the map, Mie sensed an impending deathly aura approaching. Duo felt his hair stand on end as well when suddenly a barrage of rockets flew out from their right side. They exchanged glances and simultaneously unleashed their powers against each other. Both spat out blood from their mouths as they collided with tremendous force and were propelled backward like rockets.
With a thunderous roar, the rockets engulfed their original position in an explosion that created a massive mushroom cloud. Struggling to their feet amidst the chaos, Duo and Mie gazed at the rising cloud while those who had attacked them fled in panic.
As they reported this incident to their Master at Perfect World, he too was perplexed. The Earth had descended into chaos; Perfect World needed to fulfill its mission regarding the God of Sorcery while Xiao Yefeng and his companions aimed to disrupt it. What could possibly explain this sudden organization attacking both sides?
At that moment, in a hotel in Europe, a woman was engulfed in two swirling orbs of red and blue light. She was the epitome of a Western woman, and just as the lights merged into her body, a group of over ten people burst into the room. Without a word, they opened fire on the woman lying on the bed.
The woman's eyes widened, revealing two sharp fangs as she flashed with cold light, causing the group to collapse one by one. Confused, she glanced at them and said, "Strange! Why are Abel's people just ordinary humans? I should hurry to find Brother Mei and my sister!"
Finally, the long-term rented hotel room had some signs of life, but it was fleeting, leaving behind a scene of carnage.
Meanwhile, at the Ferrad Family castle, Xiao Yefeng and others were dining. Just as dinner was concluding, a figure shimmering with red light flew in from afar. In an instant, Xiao Yefeng sensed the immense strength of the incoming Blood Energy.
"Still daring to come?" Xiao Yefeng put down his utensils, his expression turning furious. He leaped toward the source of the Blood Energy. At that moment, Ilyana and Mei Chuanqiong seemed to catch a glimpse of something familiar in the glow. Especially Mei Chuanqiong, who reached out to stop Xiao Yefeng but was no match for his speed; before he could speak, Xiao Yefeng had already vanished.
"It's my sister's aura! It must be her!" Ilyana exclaimed excitedly.
However, as Luna rushed toward the castle and saw its destruction along with an unfamiliar powerful figure charging toward her in anger, she sensed trouble. Although she didn't know what was happening, it was clear that this Eastern warrior and vampires were not meant to coexist peacefully.
"Blood Energy Sword!" The two collided as Luna conjured her blood-red sword first. Yet at that moment, Xiao Yefeng noticed that this person did not carry the aura of the God of Sorcery; instead, she radiated pure blood energy. One thing was certain: she was not from the Perfect World. However, Xiao Yefeng could tell that this woman was definitely not benevolent. For vampires to enhance their Blood Energy, there was only one method: to draw energy from blood.
Just like when Xiao Yefeng had used his blood to save Ilyana, the powerful Blood Energy had accelerated Ilyana's strength. Similarly, the stronger the absorbed Blood Energy, the more one gained. And since kin could not enhance each other’s power, this woman had achieved nearly Marquis-level Blood Energy at such a young age—comparable even to Abel after receiving the God of Sorcery's blessing. How many people's original bloodlines had she absorbed?
Those who are not of our kind must have different intentions; vampires were inherently enemies of primitive humanity. Although Xiao Yefeng recognized that this person was not from the Perfect World, he would not let her off easily! Despite having saved Ilyana and Count Lily among others, Xiao Yefeng fundamentally disliked the existence of vampires—not due to any belief but because he despised those who sacrificed others for their own gain; vampires were prime examples of this behavior.
