The battle continued as a man in white cloaks protected a black wooden box behind him while retreating against overwhelming Gray-Clad Men. It was evident that these Gray-Clad Men were Gene Warriors; among four of them, three had undergone Beastification into forms resembling leopard-wolves and gray-haired giant apes. The fourth appeared to have used some kind of potion without any visible changes after Beastification.
The man carrying the black wooden box was evidently also a new breed of human; his massive muscles and thick palms suggested he too had undergone Beastification. Despite being outnumbered four to one, he managed to gain slight advantage and successfully retreated toward a window with his companions' help. With a swift motion, he shattered the glass and jumped directly out of the fourth-floor window. His yellow Ability indicated he possessed formidable defensive capabilities.
He crashed into the ground with such force that it created a large crater before rolling away and disappearing into the night through an alleyway. Seeing him escape drove those remaining in white cloaks into a frenzy as they desperately tried to hold back the Gray-Clad Men; they clearly wanted to ensure that their fleeing companion took away the black wooden box rather than let it fall into Gray-Clad Men's hands!
The Gray-Clad Man's strength was far superior, and soon these individuals were all slaughtered by him. Once freed from his restraints, the Gray-Clad Man rushed outside, but the man had already vanished. At that moment, one of the Gray-Clad Men said, "What should we do? Without the items in the box, the plan cannot be executed!"
"Chase! The box has our tracker! We cannot let it reach the New Holy See!" An obvious leader among the Gray-Clad Men glanced at the tracker on his wrist. After making some adjustments, he was astonished to find over a dozen red coordinates displayed on it.
"Captain! What is this?" one of the black-clad men exclaimed in surprise.
"Pair up and pursue your targets! Report back at all times!" the captain commanded.
"But Captain, you know Serey's strength! Two people together can't possibly defeat him!" protested a Gray-Clad Man.
"We don't have time! We're very close to the New Holy See. Serey has been poisoned; as soon as he is spotted, signal immediately. With everyone's combined strength, we can definitely retrieve the box! Now, let's move out and intercept Serey!" The captain focused on one of the coordinates and set off, while the others scattered to pursue their targets.
A chase unfolded under the night sky within the first town of the New Holy See. However, due to communication devices being completely destroyed by the Gray-Clad Men, Serey could only rush forward alone with the box. Unfortunately, he was discovered just as he was about to regroup. At this moment, Serey had no choice but to activate a locator he had previously set up to confuse his pursuers. Normally, he would have returned to the New Holy See by now, but the damned poison made every step a struggle.
As Serey looked up at the night sky, he saw an aircraft descending. Just when he thought he could take a break, a flying dart struck the black wooden box behind him.
Realizing something was wrong, Serey watched as the dart shattered the box, causing a water-blue cube inside to fall to the ground. At that moment, a furious voice shouted, "Drop it!"
Serey grabbed the crystal cube and took off running. Meanwhile, the disheveled captain in gray was rapidly closing in on him amidst a series of buildings. To get closer to Serey, he had already smashed three coordinate points; however, those points were connected to traps that had left him in such disarray. Now that he finally found Serey and saw his target, he no longer cared!
"Serey! Hand over the item and I will let you go!" the captain called out while pursuing him.
"Horned Wolf! You wish! I will deliver this item to the Master myself and inform him of your identities!" Serey shouted back without looking as he dodged darts shot by the Gray-Clad Men.
"You have betrayed God's rules! The Master will personally annihilate you!" Serey ran wildly but noticed that Horned Wolf had suddenly stopped in his tracks. Seeing that they were so close to the headquarters of the New Holy See filled Serey with joy as he hurried toward the Church.
However, at that moment, a white figure burst out from the Church. Before Serey could react or defend himself, a fist struck his abdomen, and then a hand reached out to snatch away the crystal cube hidden in his embrace. At that moment, Sery's eyes widened in disbelief; he could never have imagined that his attacker would be someone he trusted most!
"Master! You..." Serey exclaimed in surprise.
At that moment, the White Robed Man calmly replied, "There are some things it's better for you not to know. If you do, there will be a price to pay!" With those words, Serey collapsed helplessly to the ground, his eyes closing heavily as life slipped away. The White Robed Man's punch had shattered his internal organs, causing him to die at the hands of the one he trusted most!
"I'm sorry, we almost messed things up!" the Gray-Clad Leader said respectfully.
"Enough with the nonsense. What about those vampires? Have they all been subdued?" the White Robed Man asked.
"Abel and the others are already engaged with Luna. With our people helping, there shouldn't be any problems!" the Gray-Clad Man replied.
"That's good! You all go now! Make sure every one of God's followers is eliminated! The New Holy See must be under our control!" The White Robed Man then returned to the base of the New Holy See.
The Gray-Clad Man took away Serey's body, and everything in that dark alley outside the Church vanished. At that moment, as the White Robed Man entered the Church, he was stopped by two men dressed in white robes with blue-edged sleeves.
"Master, where are you rushing off to in such a hurry? Why didn't you call us to protect you?" asked the man on the right with blue-edged sleeves.
"Thank you for your concern, Hawkins, the Deputy Leader. I just sensed something was amiss outside and went out to take a look. Surely you two Vice Leaders wouldn't doubt my abilities?" The White Robed Man pulled back his hood, revealing himself as Robert!
"That's not it. Who doesn't know that Lord Robert is one of God's chosen? We just hope that if anything happens, you won't keep it from us. After all, Master is truly God's representative! Moreover, you should know that the Divine Young Master is the most suitable for the new generation!" said the other man with blue sleeves calmly, yet his words were filled with warnings towards Robert, without any attempt at concealment.
