Upon hearing Uncle Tiger say that, my heart sank, and I asked, "Uncle, who exactly is trying to harm me?" Uncle Tiger glanced at me and replied, "Don't worry about it for now. We'll talk after you recover." I could only respond with a soft "mm." 0

After two weeks, I was almost fully recovered. Uncle Tiger wasted no time and called for me to head out, as the incident had originated with my girlfriend. The first thing we needed to do was find A Yao. I led Uncle Tiger to the Girls' Dormitory, but since boys weren't allowed inside, I had to call A Yao. As soon as the call connected, it was abruptly hung up. When I tried again, her phone was already off. 0

A whirlwind of emotions surged within me, and a heavy feeling settled in my chest. I looked at Uncle Tiger, opened my mouth to speak, but no words came out. Uncle Tiger seemed to understand my distress; he sighed and said, "Let's go to her house. We need to resolve this; we can't let it go on like this." I nodded in agreement and prepared to leave with him when A Yao suddenly appeared, and I quickly grabbed her arm. 0

Seeing me startled A Yao; her face turned pale with panic. Her reaction only deepened my sadness and confusion. After a moment of silence, I gathered my emotions and asked her, "Why did you betray me?" 0

A Yao, who had been looking down in silence, suddenly lifted her head and shook it vigorously. Her face was filled with guilt as she exclaimed, "I didn't! I would never harm you!" 0

For some reason, my anger flared up in my throat. Gripping A Yao's arm tightly, I shouted, "Do you have any idea how close I came to dying? Why? Tell me why!" 0

A Yao was taken aback by my outburst and began to cry; her distressed expression tugged at my heartstrings, causing me to soften and release her. At that moment, Uncle Tiger stepped forward and advised me not to get too worked up. He then turned to A Yao and said, "Miss, I believe you wouldn't harm Wang Niu. But please tell us everything from the beginning." 0

Uncle Tiger's words seemed to calm A Yao down significantly. I stood aside and refrained from pressing her further. We were standing in front of the Girls' Dormitory when my earlier aggressive behavior attracted quite a few curious glances from passersby. 0

We moved to a quieter spot where A Yao slowly began explaining the situation. She said that her aunt had asked for her help in finding someone to treat her illness. 0

Upon hearing this, a wave of confusion washed over me as I asked, "Does your aunt know me? Did you mention me to her?" 0

A Yao shook her head and replied, "I never told my aunt about you; I don't know how she found out." She continued explaining that she had taken me there but hadn't expected things to turn out that way. Later on, she asked her aunt about my condition, but her aunt told her not to worry because I wouldn't die. 0

I still felt some anger bubbling inside me; however, since I genuinely liked her, I held back from blaming her too much. Uncle Tiger pressed on with his questioning: "Is there anything else?" 0

A Yao shook her head again and said she only knew that much. Then Uncle Tiger instructed A Yao to call her aunt and ask if she was home. A Yao immediately looked tense at the suggestion. Uncle Tiger reassured her saying, "It's fine; we're just going to check on things." 0

After a brief phone call lasting about a minute or so, A Yao weakly reported back that her aunt was indeed at home. We hailed a cab and headed towards Aunt A-Yao's house. 0

When we arrived at Aunt A-Yao's doorstep on the sixth floor of an old building without an elevator, A Yao knocked on the door. It was opened by a middle-aged woman whom I recognized as A Yao's aunt. However, upon seeing me, Aunt A-Yao's expression changed dramatically; it became quite strange. 0

She stared blankly for a few seconds before I spoke up: "Do you remember me?" 0

Her face froze for a moment before breaking into a smile as she replied, "Of course! How could I forget? If it weren't for you last time, I might not be here today! Don't just stand outside; come in!" 0

She stepped aside for us to enter. Once inside, I felt an overwhelming sense of dampness while Uncle Tiger scanned the room carefully. 0

The interior layout seemed normal enough; nothing appeared amiss at first glance. After we sat down, Aunt A-Yao told A Yao: "You two entertain yourselves; I'm going out to buy some groceries and will make something delicious for you later." 0

As Aunt A-Yao started heading out the door, Uncle Tiger stopped her and said firmly: "There's no need for that; we just want to ask a few questions before we leave." 0

"How can that be? Last time Wang Niu saved my life; shouldn't we thank him properly?" Aunt A-Yao insisted while trying to leave again. 0

Yet Uncle Tiger blocked her once more: "There's no rush; let me ask a few questions first." 0

Aunt A-Yao's demeanor shifted abruptly as she suddenly threw a tantrum: "Can't I even go buy groceries? This is my house—not yours!" 0

Both A Yao and I were taken aback by Aunt A-Yao's sudden change in attitude. Even A Yao called out in confusion: "Auntie, what's wrong?" 0

But Aunt A-Yao ignored her question and charged towards Uncle Tiger instead. Despite the tension in the air, Uncle Tiger remained calm and composed as he remarked: "Is it really that hard for you to hide it?" 0

His words left me puzzled as Aunt A-Yao seemed increasingly frantic while confronting him. When A Yao attempted to intervene with her aunt, Uncle Tiger stopped her from approaching. 0

Before long, I witnessed something astonishing—Uncle Tiger swiftly grabbed Aunt A-Yao by the shoulder with one hand and effortlessly brought her down to the ground. 0

She quickly got back up shouting: "Help! Someone's attacking me!" 0

In no time at all, several people rushed over questioning what was happening and accusing Uncle Tiger of bullying a woman. 0

However, he paid them no mind as he stepped closer toward Aunt A-Yao while several men behind him prepared to intervene. 0

But Uncle Tiger moved quickly; he seized Aunt A-Yao by the hair while muttering something under his breath that I couldn't quite catch before suddenly yanking hard. 0

What followed was an incredibly bizarre scene—first came a piercing scream from Aunt A-Yao followed by Uncle Tiger holding up what appeared to be a fake skin mask. 0

Beneath that mask lay a Paper Man. 0

The men who had initially approached hesitated upon witnessing this spectacle; fear washed over them as they stood frozen in place. 0

Uncle Tiger remained unfazed by the sight of the Paper Man but noticed its attempt to flee. In an instant he lunged forward and caught it before it could attach itself to someone else in the crowd. 0

With a fierce shout, he pulled out scissors and swiftly severed the Paper Man's head from its body. 0

What had once been an animated figure now lay motionless on the ground. 0

Everyone around us stood dumbfounded—utterly astonished by what they had just witnessed. 0

I too was momentarily stunned until Uncle Tiger called out: “Wang Niu! Why are you still standing there? Hurry up and burn the Paper Man!” 0
