Jono's mind went blank for a brief moment as Jin Chengyan's kiss deepened, and his heated hands slipped under her clothing, causing her thoughts to explode in confusion.
"Ugh..." Jono pushed against Jin Chengyan. She couldn't accept that she and Jin Chengyan could have any other relationship. She knew he had someone he liked, and he was not in a clear state of mind right now.
But the drunken Jin Chengyan was unusually strong, and Jono's resistance only fueled his anger. He pressed her against the wall with increasing force, his kisses becoming more chaotic, leaving Jono unable to fight back.
"Jin Chengyan... let me go!" Jono struggled, her hands too weak to resist, resorting only to kicking him.
Yet Jin Chengyan seemed even more enraged, lifting her hands above her head with one hand while the other tightened around her neck.
"Why? Why after all these years... can't you forget him? Why?" Jin Chengyan gripped her neck tightly, his eyes filled with fury.
Jono felt like she was about to suffocate and couldn't understand what he was saying. It was clear he had mistaken her for someone else.
"Why do you seek him out the moment he returns? Don’t you know he never liked you? Never!" Jin Chengyan's eyes were bloodshot.
Jono thought that if he kept choking her like this, she would surely be on the brink of death!
"Jin... Chengyan... I am... I am Jono! I am Jono... please... let me go!" With her legs pinned down, she couldn't move any of her limbs.
Jin Chengyan paused for a moment, as if trying to remember who Jono was.
"Isn't it good for us to be together? Be with me, and I will love you more than anyone else..." As he spoke, Jin Chengyan's kiss descended once more, filled with a desperate aggression.
He tore her clothes open and pinned her against the wall!
“Shengyu…” This was the name he called out as he kissed her ear.
She knew he had mistaken her for someone else; that person was indeed Ruan Shengyu.
Jono realized that if she didn’t do something soon, the drunken Jin Chengyan would end up doing something to her. Just as Jin Chengyan intended to carry her to his room, Jono pushed him away with all her strength without a second thought.
The drunken Jin Chengyan was already disoriented, and when Jono pushed him hard, he stumbled backward and crashed into the wall.
“Shengyu…” He looked at the person in front of him in disbelief. She was still rejecting him; after all these years, she was still rejecting him!
Worried that Jin Chengyan might do something else, Jono hurried back to her room without even fixing her clothes. She locked the door behind her and leaned against it.
Now that she was in a safe environment, Jono finally felt her heart settle. She slowly slid down to the floor, leaning against the door.
Her heart raced uncontrollably.
Jin Chengyan had mistaken her because he was drunk.
But that couldn’t be an excuse for his reckless behavior.
Whether he was sober or drunk, he shouldn’t act like this!
Jono paced back and forth in the room until she finally caught a glimpse of herself in the mirror.
Her lips were slightly swollen.
She placed her hand on her lips and immediately recalled that somewhat aggressive kiss.
Now, she could almost feel the warmth from his lips.
In fact… she hadn’t initially rejected him, had she?
It was only when she realized he had mistaken her for someone else that she began to reject him from the bottom of her heart, even pushing him away forcefully before fleeing in a panic.
As Jono continued to look at herself in the mirror, she noticed a slight change in her complexion.
It wasn’t that she was angry because Jin Chengyan had offended her; rather, she was angry because he had gotten her wrong!
