How could Jono not realize that she was helping her husband maintain a relationship with another woman?
She knew all too well that the person her husband truly cared for was Ruan Shengyu.
Jasper glanced at Jono, his expression suddenly relaxing. "Alright, then I'll let go of the person who hurt my sister, for Mrs. Jin's sake."
"Thank you, Mr. Ji." Jono sighed in relief; at least this matter wasn't too difficult to handle. "Xining, do you want to check on your face?"
Xining was sulking over Jono and Jasper letting Ruan Shengyu off the hook.
"Hmph, just let me be disfigured! I won't be able to get married and will end up eating away my family's fortune!" She muttered as she turned to leave, abandoning the others.
Jasper chuckled indulgently and turned to Jin Chengyan. "I'll go check on Xining, so I won't disturb you."
"Goodbye." Jin Chengyan really didn't want to see Jasper; it was frustrating. So when he said he was leaving, he immediately added a farewell.
Jasper was slightly taken aback by Jin Chengyan's bluntness but then turned back to Jono. "Please take care of Xining today. We've looked over your project; it's quite good, and there should be someone reaching out to you soon."
With that, Jasper hurried off to catch up with Xining.
Of course, before leaving, he cast a deep glance at Ruan Shengyu.
He would remember the person who had slapped his sister.
Ruan Shengyu was also startled by Jasper's piercing gaze.
Jasper was truly a frightening person!
Once the Ji family members had left, Jono felt it was about time for her to go as well.
"If there's nothing else, I'll take my leave now. You all... enjoy your reunion." Jono's gaze flickered between Jin Chengyan and Ruan Shengyu.
Jin Chengyan disliked Jono's gaze intensely, and he was unhappy with everything at that moment.
Yet, he still felt the need to thank Jono.
"Thank you for what happened earlier," Jin Chengyan said, clearly understanding that Ruan Shengyu would never lower herself to express gratitude, so he took it upon himself.
"Are you thanking me? Are you thanking Miss Ruan? What gives you the right?" Jono's three questions echoed Xining's earlier words.
However, Jono was not as aggressive as Xining had been; she merely asked and did not intend to wait for Jin Chengyan's answer.
She was not afraid of Ruan Shengyu's glare, believing that having someone back her up made her fearless.
Girl, you're exhausting the man's patience!
"Who do we owe an apology to? I am your wife!" Jono said casually, leaving Jin Chengyan speechless.
After assessing the situation, Jono decided to leave; any further conversation would likely upset Jin Chengyan.
She always oscillated between self-torture and tormenting others.
But in the end, she was the only one who got hurt.
Ruan Shengyu watched Jono walk away, and finally, with just the two of them left, she could voice all her grievances.
"Do you think I would slap that girl for no reason?" Ruan Shengyu asked, tilting her head to look at Jin Chengyan.
Fine, if he told her not to speak, she would remain silent. Even when cornered by those people and without receiving a word from Jin Chengyan, she kept quiet.
But what about Jin Chengyan? After apologizing to Xining, he still had to thank Jono?
Was he trying to smooth things over?
When has Jin Chengyan ever been afraid of anything?
Was it because of the collaboration between Jono and Jasper? Was he worried about offending Jasper?
Jin Chengyan rubbed his temples; in fact, his leg injury had flared up again these past few days due to the car accident, which was why he had yet to be discharged from the hospital.
Standing for so long earlier had made his leg ache.
But at this moment, Ruan Shengyu was still entangled in this issue with him, and he felt somewhat annoyed.
"What else do you want?" Yes, what else did Ruan Shengyu want?
Did he expect Jin Chengyan to help him slap Xining again?

"Does it matter whether I'm annoyed or not? Aren't you getting along well with Yan San?" Jin Chengyan scoffed. There had been plenty of reports about Ruan Shengyu and Yan Beiting's scandalous relationship these past few days.
Did he think Jin Chengyan was blind? That he couldn't see these rumors?
Thinking of this made Jin Chengyan feel a sharp pain in his leg again, and he even struggled to stay upright, reaching out to brace himself against the doorframe as cold sweat broke out on his forehead.
Ruan Shengyu immediately panicked and reached out to support Jin Chengyan.
"Is your leg hurting again?" Ruan Shengyu asked anxiously as she hurriedly helped Jin Chengyan into the room, then rushed to the bathroom to fetch a warm towel for him.
She rolled up his pant leg and placed the warm towel on top.
As she performed these actions, Ruan Shengyu moved with practiced ease, clearly having done this many times before.
Sitting by the bed, she looked at his leg, her eyes reddening with emotion.
That was a solid iron rod!
When it fell, Ruan Shengyu thought she would never be able to dance again in her life. However, at that moment, Jin Chengyan had lunged forward, and the rod had landed on his leg!
Blood gushed out instantly!
Her white dress was completely stained with blood!
Seeing Ruan Shengyu like this made Jin Chengyan's heart ache. He reached out and gently touched her face.
"Does it hurt?" he asked softly, knowing just how much pain she must be in.
Ruan Shengyu shook her head, but tears were already streaming down her cheeks, falling onto Jin Chengyan's leg and burning him.
He wanted to pull Ruan Shengyu into his arms, but suddenly he froze, unable to take that step further.
Jono's words echoed in his mind: "Jin Chengyan, you are my husband now. Even if it's only for four years, you cannot have any rumors with Ruan Shengyu!"
So, as he prepared to reach out to Ruan Shengyu, his hand halted in mid-air.
This left Jin Chengyan feeling... terrible.
Did he really have to abide by what Jono said?
Alright, he would comply!
He always felt as if he owed Jono, and even Ruan Shengyu seemed to owe something to Jono.
Jono had been framed, and in order to protect Ruan Shengyu, he had bullied Jono—not just physically, but emotionally as well!
Thinking of this, Jin Chengyan let out a light sigh.
Ruan Shengyu looked up, puzzled by Jin Chengyan's expression.
But Jin Chengyan said, "You should go back now. I need some time alone."
He was pushing her away.

Jono hurriedly caught up with Xining and Jasper. She was forcibly taken to get her face checked, disinfected, and treated—whatever it took to ease their worries.
"I don't care! I don't like Ruan Shengyu. You deal with it!" Xining threw a tantrum, and Jasper seemed at a loss for what to do.
"Why are you so concerned about other people's marital issues? Are you planning to live their lives for them?" Jasper shot a look at the doctor, urging him to hurry up and treat Xining.
"That Ruan Shengyu thinks she can bully Jono. Didn't you hear how she spoke to Jono in the bathroom that day? Just now, she ordered me around like I was nothing. She's not afraid I'll record her and post it online to ruin her star image!" Xining was full of bad ideas from head to toe.
Jasper could only frown, but thankfully, he saw Jono approaching.
"I warn you, don't pull any more tricks on me. Otherwise, just wait until I get home to teach you a lesson! I have some matters to attend to at the company; I'll have Jono take you home later," Jasper warned Xining.
He walked over to Jono's side. "I'll leave Xining in your care for now. I have some things to take care of; I'm off!"
"Alright, sorry for the trouble."
"It’s really my fault for causing you trouble, Xining is just a little nuisance!"
Jasper seemed to have something urgent, and hurriedly left.
As Jasper rushed out, he got into the car and immediately made a phone call.
"Hey, Wen Han sister, I remember you have some connections in the capital."
"Little guy, what do you need connections for in the capital? Are you trying to break into the entertainment industry? Your family's little princess wouldn't be too happy about that, with so many beauties around!"
Jasper smiled slightly, "That's not it. How could I dare to compete with you for business, Wen Han sister?"
"Stop being coy, what’s going on?"
Jasper looked at himself in the rearview mirror; he appeared so sinister that even he found it frightening.
"There’s a female artist named Ruan Shengyu, I heard she’s been trying to make her way into the capital's scene. I’m not too fond of her, you..."
"Is it you who doesn’t like her or is it Xiaoxining who doesn’t like her?" Wen Han hit the nail on the head.
Jasper just smiled, letting Wen Han think that way. After all, if it involved their Ji Family, he wouldn’t let it go easily.
"Alright, I've heard of her too. She seems to have some background. But in the entertainment industry, it’s all about connections. If she offends our Xiaoxining, then she’s basically going against me. I’ll keep an eye on it."
"Thank you, Wen Han sister!"
After hanging up the phone, Jasper finally smiled.
"Mr. Ji, just now Yan Fei's people called and said they want to see you. The Jin Family also wants to meet with you," his assistant turned back to inform him.
Jasper shook his head, "No meetings, I’m busy."
The assistant was a bit confused about Jasper and wondered what he should do.
Xining had taken care of the slap on her cheek from Ruan Shengyu and seemed completely unfazed as she linked arms with Jono.
"Jono, why did you let Ruan Shengyu off the hook just now? I took that slap for nothing!"
Jono paused for a moment, surprised. "Were you doing it on purpose?"
"Why else would I provoke her into hitting me? I just didn't expect all of you to side with her. Didn't you say you had some tricks up your sleeve? Why is Jin Chengyan still defending Ruan Shengyu like this? You should be tougher about it..."
Xining continued to speak, but Jono couldn't process what she was saying; her head was buzzing.
