On the way back, Xi Yisheng drove his own car, while Jono and Qiao Chen shared a ride in another vehicle.
Qiao Chen knew that this was an unavoidable conversation, so when his sister decided to take her own car, he didn’t hesitate at all.
From the moment they got into the car, the atmosphere inside dropped to a chilling low. Jono’s expression was grim, as if she were struggling with something.
Taking a deep breath, Qiao Chen reached out and turned on the car stereo, only to find a CD that Jin Mengxi had somehow left in there. It was loud European and American rock music, causing Qiao Chen to frown immediately.
Jin Mengxi was just that kind of girl; despite her seemingly gentle appearance, she was quite rebellious, full of bad ideas, and extremely stubborn.
If it weren't for her being the fifth young lady of the Jin Family, Qiao Chen probably would never have had any involvement with someone like her in his lifetime.
“Qiao Chen, did you know? The little darling's Bone Marrow was taken from Jin Chengyan.”

I wanted him to feel what I had endured, even to the point of making him wish he were dead.” Reflecting on those times made Jono realize how dark her thoughts had been then.
But how did things change?
“However, Qiao Chen, I’ve moved on. From now on, I won’t have any relationship with Jin Chengyan. All his wrongs vanished the moment he saved the little darling. From now on, he is him and we are us.” After saying so much, Jono still wanted to shift the focus back onto Jin Mengxi. “Sister can see that Jin Mengxi really likes you. But if you don’t like her, I’ll take you to apologize later. No matter how they treat you or our Qiao Family, we can only accept it. Jin Mengxi is the real victim in this situation.”

But what was wrong with what Qiao Chen said? Hurt and atonement could not be equated.

When they arrived at the Qiao Family residence, Qiao Chen didn’t get out of the car. He simply said he had other matters to attend to and drove away.
Xi Yisheng got out of the car and watched Jono as she stared at the departing vehicle.
"You’ve had a long day. Rest well; I’ll take care of the little one."
Jono turned back to look at Xi Yisheng, whose smile could melt glaciers—warm and beautiful.
"Thank you, Yisheng." Without Xi Yisheng, Jono really didn’t know how she would have gotten through today.
"If we can’t be a couple, we can still be friends." Xi Yisheng always felt he could touch Jono’s heart, but in the end, he only moved himself.
The more Xi Yisheng said this, the more uncomfortable Jono felt.
"I’m glad to have a friend like you, but today, let me take care of the little one by myself. You just got here; you really need to rest."
Xi Yisheng understood that Jono was rejecting him. He didn’t say much more, nodded, and got into his own car to leave.
Jono dragged her weary body into the villa. The nanny taking care of Qiao Lovely informed her that Qiao Lovely had eaten and then fallen asleep.

"Alright, if you agree, I will take this for notarization right away. You just need to sign here."
Jin Chengyan didn't look at the contents of the document; he knew that even a glance would make him feel uncomfortable. He simply signed his name at the end of the document.
A-Shan had been watching silently the entire time.
After the lawyer left, Jin Chengyan sat in the chair for a long time without doing anything or saying a word.
Because the marriage he had protected for four years ultimately came to an end at this moment.
Knock knock knock... The office door was knocked on. He had already informed those outside not to disturb him at this time, yet they still did not listen.
A-Shan walked over to open the door, initially intending to scold, but instead found Melancholy and Yunxin standing outside.
After considering Jin Chengyan inside, A-Shan ultimately blocked the entrance.

"As long as it’s nothing serious. Yunxin knows your father isn’t well and wanted to see him. I’m busy with other matters, so I let you take her over." Melancholy was quite pleased with this girl named Yunxin; right after his divorce, she had immediately sent someone over.
She didn’t even consider the current situation; Jin Mengxi's issues had just been suppressed, and the Jin Family's legal troubles were well-known.
He certainly didn’t have the mindset for romance right now.
"Let A-Shan take her; I have a lot of work at the company." Jin Chengyan directly refused, showing no regard for Melancholy's feelings.

With Melancholy pushing this hard, Jin Chengyan had no choice but to agree. He then focused on his work, pretending that Yunxin didn’t exist.
He thought that such a young lady would surely lose her temper and leave after waiting for an hour. However, when Jin Chengyan came out of his office to attend a meeting, he was surprised to find her chatting happily with several secretarial assistants from the president's office.
He noticed the snacks and coffee on their desk and couldn't help but frown.
At the sight of his frown, everyone in the president's office knew that Jin Chengyan was angry, so they quickly abandoned Yunxin and returned to their work.
Jin Chengyan glanced at Yunxin before turning away and heading into his office.
The meeting lasted until seven in the evening, and Jin Chengyan went straight from the conference room downstairs, forgetting that Yunxin was still upstairs.
Just as he was about to get into his car, Yunxin rushed out from inside. Seeing that Jin Chengyan was still there, she breathed a sigh of relief.
"Luckily, I caught up with you. Otherwise, I wouldn't be able to see Uncle Jin today..." Before Yunxin could finish her sentence, she accidentally stepped on a raised part of the carpet and fell toward Jin Chengyan.
He reached out to steady her out of courtesy.
At that moment, a sound echoed as someone in the shadows recorded everything.
