"Since the 'Shadow' attacks are so purposeful, could it be that Second has really discovered some secret?" Seven pondered aloud. 0

"Maybe," Second replied, scratching the back of his head awkwardly. "I was just shouting randomly; I didn't find anything." 0

"Not necessarily," Third interjected. He stepped in front of Second and asked, "Where have you been before?" 0

Second answered honestly, "I was attacked when I stood by the wall with the damaged inscriptions, and then I jumped onto the Altar, but it kept chasing me!" 0

Before Second could finish his sentence, Third rushed to the wall inscribed with Ancient Script, and the others followed closely behind. 0

Wang Er Gou asked, "Has Brother Yu found any clues?" 0

Third ran his hand over the wall and replied, "Not yet." 0

He recalled the strange occurrences on the wall earlier that day, which might be related to those inscriptions! Since emerging from the swamp, Third had been studying those ancient runes. These ancient characters recorded a significant secret, but he struggled to decipher them, preventing him from uncovering their hidden meanings. 0

However, given today's situation, it seemed these ancient texts might possess some special power. 0

Why was there always a woman depicted in murals at the sites of these ancient inscriptions? To decipher the contents of the Ancient Script, it was crucial to uncover this woman's identity! Yet, she remained a great mystery. 0

Approaching the Altar, Third gazed at the deity worshipped in this Ancient Temple. He truly wanted to know which era this woman belonged to. 0

Historically, all deities worshipped were documented: Guanyin, Buddha, or even Nine Heavens Xuan Nu, along with figures like the Jade Emperor and the Queen Mother of the West. Even lesser deities such as the Kitchen God and Land God were recorded. 0

Even later figures like Dayu were noted. Yet this mural woman seemed to appear out of nowhere, elusive in history—truly perplexing. 0

Could she be Nuwa? A bold thought suddenly crossed Third's mind! But it was quickly suppressed. Ever since Nuwa repaired the sky with stones, she had almost never appeared again, as if she had vanished completely. 0

The myths that once appeared on this continent were countless. Whether they were local deities or those brought from afar, very few were still worshipped. 0

Third stared intently at the figure in the mural, the flickering flames of the fire casting shadows that danced around Third, while the reflection of the discovery on Altar mirrored the fluctuations of her own shadow. Yet, no matter how one looked at her, she exuded an air of graceful calmness. 0

The other three stood still as well, watching Third fixate on the woman in the mural without moving. Initially, they thought he was deep in thought, but after several moments passed with no reaction from him, concern began to grow. 0

“Oh no, Third hasn’t had his soul taken away, has he?” exclaimed Second. In a hurry, Seven slapped Third on the shoulder, but there was still no response. 0

Third stood as still as a scarecrow in a field, completely unmoving. 0

Seeing this lack of reaction, Second rushed over and pulled Third away from the discovery. Still, Third remained unresponsive. Seven checked for his breath and listened for his heartbeat before saying, “He’s alive; he’s not dead!” The others let out a sigh of relief upon hearing this. 0

“But why isn’t he waking up?” asked Second. Seven couldn’t provide an answer either. 0

Wang Er Gou suggested, “How about we splash some cold water on him?” Upon hearing this, both Second and Seven turned to look at Wang Er Gou. 0

Feeling uneasy under their gaze, Wang Er Gou stammered, “I… mean no harm!” 0

“ Er Gou, what are you waiting for? Go get some water!” Second urged. 0

Startled for a moment, Wang Er Gou quickly snapped back to reality and hurried off to fetch water. 0

After receiving the water from Wang Er Gou, Second took a sip and splashed it onto Third's face. Once done, all four stared wide-eyed at Third, but to their disappointment, he still hadn’t come to; his eyes remained closed! 0

“No reaction! Why isn’t there any reaction?” shouted Second. The other two felt equally uncertain. 0

In his mind, Second wondered if this was it for Third. He shook him vigorously again, but still no response. 0

Checking for breath and heartbeat once more confirmed that both were present; thus, it was clear that Third was not dead. But why couldn’t he move? 0

"Could it be that he fell asleep?" As soon as Seven said this, he felt foolish himself. 0

The three of them had exhausted all options and simply slumped to the ground in silence, waiting for whatever would happen next, resigned to fate. 0

Second shouted, "If Third doesn't wake up by tomorrow, I'm going to smash this temple!" Just as Second finished speaking, he let out a yelp of pain! 0

Seven asked with concern, "What's wrong, Second?" 0

Second held his neck with both hands and said, "I think I twisted my neck. Seven, come over and help me straighten it out." 0

Seven stood up and walked behind Second, muttering, "How did you manage to twist your neck for no reason?" He intended to distract Second from the pain. As he spoke, Seven applied a firm push to realign Second's neck, accompanied by a scream that sounded like a slaughtered pig. 0

"Damn it! Hu Jin, couldn't you be gentler? This hurts like hell!" 0

Seven replied with a wry smile, "It's better to get it over with quickly than to suffer for a long time. I was careful with the pressure." 0

Second rubbed his neck and twisted it a couple of times, saying, "It actually feels better!" He then started laughing to himself. 0

Suddenly, Wang Er Gou interjected, "Hey Brother Cao, you just said you wanted to burn down the ancient temple, and then you twisted your neck... this..." 0

Before Wang Er Gou could finish his sentence, Seven chimed in, "Could it be that the curse mentioned by Waiter is coming true?" 0

The two of them singing in harmony made Second feel anxious inside, but he stubbornly retorted, "That's just a coincidence; I don't believe in superstitions!" 0

Wang Er Gou continued, "What if Brother Yu is possessed?" 0

As soon as those words left his mouth, both of them were startled. 0

They quickly dropped the previous topic. Seven asked, "What exactly does being possessed mean?" 0

Second leaned in with bright eyes to listen. Wang Er Gou pondered for a moment before saying, "Being possessed should be considered a term within Fortune-Telling. 0

Fortune-Telling can be regarded as one of the oldest sects on this land. Being possessed refers to one's life force being temporarily controlled by an evil entity. The person loses their ability to think, but their body remains intact." 0

The two listened to Wang Er Gou's eerie explanation! Second asked, "So how do we break it?" 0

Wang Er Gou chuckled a few times and replied, "I only have a superficial understanding of Fortune-Telling. As for the rest, I really don't know! But the mysterious nature of this sect surpasses that of our Wind Technique Sect!" 0

"Stop right there! You've said so much nonsense, yet you still can't provide a solution," Second said. 0

Wang Er Gou was left speechless by this remark, unable to refute it. After all, he had no real skills and was just rambling! 0

Seven, however, was quite interested. Since Third wouldn't wake up anytime soon, listening to Wang Er Gou's ramblings was just a way to pass the time! 0

Second couldn't deny it! Seeing that both of them had no objections, Wang Er Gou decided to continue. He began, "Regarding being possessed, as long as one's life force is strong, tomorrow when the sun is high, we can take Brother Yu outside to bask in the sunlight and let him absorb some yang energy. This might help break the possession!" Wang Er Gou said this without much confidence! 0

However, the other two were novices and felt somewhat reassured upon hearing there was a solution! 0

Wang Er Gou added, "But I can't guarantee it will work!" He felt uneasy saying this; if it didn't work tomorrow, he would be in trouble. 0

Seven urged, " Er Gou, stop with the nonsense and get on with the story!" Thus, they set aside Third for the time being. 0

Wang Er Gou cleared his throat a few times and prepared himself before starting his tale. 0

The founding of the Divination Sect was also an accidental process. However, from another perspective, the emergence of Fortune-Telling goes against heavenly will! It is a practice that transcends natural laws and can foresee and measure a person's life and death! To be honest, I don't know how it has existed for so long; it's simply an ancient secret technique! 0

When Fortune-Telling first appeared, it aligned with power. To some extent, it served to validate the legitimacy of that power's existence and its divine nature—its inviolability! 0

During this period, the ancient Divine Dragon emerged and was endowed with "Imperial Aura" and Celestial Dragon Divine Countenance by the people of the Divination Sect. At this time, serpents were viewed as outcasts and were rejected. Some even killed the White Snake to establish imperial authority. 0

Fortune-Telling developed over time into a more mature practice, capable of predicting days and interpreting earthly energies. Ultimately, it was categorized into Divination and the Star Observation Book. This involved celestial phenomena; for instance, comets have been regarded as omens since ancient times, while the Zi Wei Star has always been considered a favorable celestial body. 0

Divination, on the other hand, predicts fortune and misfortune through the hints provided by turtle shells. Suddenly, Wang Er Gou recalled and said, "Oh right, there’s another method that can predict a person's fate. This technique could be referred to as the Supreme Method within Fortune-Telling." 0

My master once mentioned that if someone mastered this Supreme Method, there would be no need for any Feng Shui sects to exist. 0

Consequently, this method of fortune-telling was deemed heretical by the Fortune-Telling school itself. Practicing this art was strictly forbidden. 0

The founder of the Divination Sect established strict rules; anyone who practiced this technique would be committing a grave sin of betraying their master and ancestors, resulting in immediate expulsion from the sect! 0

This rule is considered one of the most severe, so for thousands of years, no one dared to cross the Next Thunder Gate. Yet, there are always those who dare to taste forbidden fruit. 0

Once, there was a person known as "Ancient Ability" who learned this technique. Later, he was expelled from his sect. He then founded his own school. However, this technique was too extreme and did not align with natural laws. Consequently, the existing sects united to suppress his faction. 0

However, rumors suggest that this faction did not perish but instead went into hiding, though their disciples became exceedingly rare. 0

At this point, Wang Er Gou paused. Seizing the opportunity, Seven asked a question: "Since Fortune-Telling has such a powerful Supreme Method, who founded it?" 0

Wang Er Gou replied, "I once read an ancient text that recorded this matter. It seems that this Supreme Method of Fortune-Telling existed even before the establishment of the Divination Sect. The founder obtained it by chance! The opening lines of the book reportedly state that this technique should be eradicated!" 0
