Li Ming lay on his bed, his mind racing with countless thoughts. Just after waking up, he was bombarded with a multitude of new messages, as if he had suddenly crossed over into another world. His thoughts never ceased for a moment; all the information surged in like a tidal wave, making him feel breathless.
He murmured to himself, “The Hidden Realm is in chaos… The leaders of the Three Great Families are dead… The Demon Realm is striking from the shadows… The Human Realm still harbors dangers… And I… am an unstable factor… Mo Shiu’s intentions…” Each sentence felt like a heavy chain, tightly binding his heart.
A wave of overwhelming pressure hit him suddenly, nearly suffocating him. Everything had come too abruptly; he hadn’t even fully awakened before facing such a grim reality. He recalled his conversation with Mo Shiu, that cold sense of oppression still lingering around him. He could sense Mo Shiu's power and danger, yet he couldn’t fully grasp the profound implications behind it.
“What should I do?” Li Ming kept asking himself. He knew that his current strength was insufficient to confront these crises, but he also understood that there was no turning back; he had to face these challenges head-on. His heart was filled with both fear for the future and anger at his own inability to change the situation.
“The Chaos Pearl… The Divine Binding Seal… The Hidden Realm’s conspiracy…” Li Ming’s thoughts grew increasingly chaotic; he felt as if he were trapped in an inescapable maze, surrounded by crises and difficulties on all sides.
He closed his eyes, striving to calm himself down, taking several deep breaths, but that pressure still clung to him like a shadow. He knew that what he needed now was not just strength but also wisdom and resilience. He had to analyze everything calmly and find a way to cope, no matter how arduous the path ahead might be.
Lying on the bed, the pain and pressure within him crashed like waves, making it almost impossible for him to breathe. He shut his eyes again, trying to find peace, but those chaotic thoughts continued to flood in, leaving him agitated.
At that moment, a gentle knock on the wall broke the silence in the room. Li Ming opened his eyes and turned toward the sound. There stood Chen Yao at the curtain, looking at him with a complex expression.
“Don’t bear all the pressure alone…” Chen Yao said softly, her voice carrying a hint of compassion and encouragement.
Li Ming remained silent for a moment, confusion and pain still evident in his eyes. “But I… I don’t know what to do. Everything has come so suddenly; I feel like I can’t bear it.”
Chen Yao stepped into the room and slowly approached Li Ming, her tone soothing: “I don’t know why such a powerful seal has been placed upon you either, but it also means you may possess unimaginable potential. Perhaps you should feel happy; it signifies your ability to change the situation.”
Li Ming looked at Chen Yao, feeling a warmth in his heart but still filled with doubt. “Happy? Right now, I only feel lost and powerless. I don’t know how to face these difficulties.”
Chen Yao nodded gently, determination flashing in her eyes. “Li Ming, we are all in the same boat facing the same crisis. You are not alone; we are here with you. Your potential might be key for us to defeat Mo Shiu and protect the Hidden Realm.”
Li Ming took a deep breath, feeling the strength in Chen Yao’s words. He knew he could not be defeated by pressure and pain. No matter how difficult the road ahead might be, he had to persevere because he bore not only his own fate but also the future of both the Human Realm and the Hidden Realm.
"Thank you, Chen Yao," Li Ming said, his voice filled with a hint of gratitude and determination. "I will work hard to become stronger, for all of us."
Li Ming expressed his appreciation again, "Thank you, Chen Yao." There was a note of sincerity and resolve in his tone.
Chen Yao's cheeks flushed slightly, and she shyly lowered her head before feigning indifference. "I just wanted to boost the morale of my teammates; I didn't mean anything else." Her tone carried a hint of pride, as if she were trying to mask her true feelings.
Seeing her like this, Li Ming couldn't help but chuckle softly and said, "Got it, got it."
Chen Yao let out a soft huff, the blush on her face becoming more pronounced. She lightly punched Li Ming's shoulder. "You're still laughing!"
Li Ming sobered up and asked earnestly, "Chen Yao, I've been wanting to ask, what exactly are the assassins in the Hidden Realm doing? And what is this so-called goddess?"
Upon hearing this question, Chen Yao's expression turned serious. She cleared her throat, pulled a chair beside her to sit down, and then slowly began to explain. "The assassins in the Hidden Realm, like me, are actually responsible for carrying out special missions. Our targets are usually individuals or forces that pose a threat to the Hidden Realm; sometimes we also engage in important intelligence gathering and reconnaissance activities."
Li Ming suddenly interrupted Chen Yao with an urgent question. "Wait a minute! We often talk about the three realms: Heaven, Humanity, and Demons. Why isn't the Hidden Realm mentioned?"
Chen Yao paused for a moment before patiently explaining. "You can think of it this way: the Heavenly Realm, Human Realm, and Demon Realm are three different time-spaces that operate within their own parallel worlds. However, these three worlds actually overlap in the same location. It's like three transparent sheets of paper, each with a dot drawn on it; the positions of these three dots are exactly the same."
Li Ming frowned as he tried to grasp this metaphor. Chen Yao continued, "When these three sheets of paper are stacked together, the three dots coincide at a single intersection point. This intersection point is the Hidden Realm. The uniqueness of the Hidden Realm lies in the fact that it does not belong to any one of the three realms but is intricately connected to all of them."
A glimmer of understanding crossed Li Ming's eyes as he asked, "So how was the Hidden Realm formed?"
Chen Yao nodded slightly and continued her explanation. "The Hidden Realm is a product of the interplay between the powers of the three realms. When the forces from these realms converge at a specific point, it creates the Hidden Realm. This area can be seen as a balancing point or a buffer zone. Because the Hidden Realm exists at the intersection of the three realms, it can mediate and balance conflicts and contradictions among them."
Li Ming nodded thoughtfully. "So the role of the Hidden Realm is to maintain balance between the three realms?"
"Exactly," Chen Yao replied. "The existence of the Hidden Realm is crucial for the stability of all three realms. It does not fully belong to any one realm, but its balance is necessary for all."
Li Ming continued to ask, "What impact will the chaos in the Hidden Realm have on the Three Realms?"
Chen Yao's expression grew serious. "The chaos in the Hidden Realm will disrupt the balance between the Three Realms. In such a situation, conflicts and contradictions among the Celestial Realm, Human Realm, and Demon Realm will intensify, potentially leading to even greater disasters. This is why we must restore order in the Hidden Realm as soon as possible to prevent further deterioration."
Seeing that Li Ming seemed to understand, Chen Yao continued to explain, "Due to the uniqueness of the Hidden Realm, various cultures, beliefs, and sects are deeply rooted here. Different forces coexist in the Hidden Realm—some from the Celestial Realm, some from the Human Realm, and others from the Demon Realm."
Li Ming nodded, signaling Chen Yao to go on.
"I come from a faction of goddesses in the Celestial Realm. We worship the Thunder Lady, one of the ancient deities that has long since disappeared from the Celestial Realm." Chen Yao's eyes sparkled with reverence and faith. "Our clan hopes to establish a belief in her majesty by promoting her power, thereby bringing back the lost lady once more."
Listening intently, Li Ming was filled with questions. "The Thunder Lady? What kind of being is she?"
Chen Yao gently nodded, her tone carrying a hint of mystery. "The Thunder Lady is one of the ancient deities in the Celestial Realm; she governs thunder and storms and possesses unparalleled power. However, during an ancient great war, she suddenly vanished, and no one knows her whereabouts. Our goddess faction believes that by reestablishing faith in her and allowing more people to admire and worship her, we can awaken her from oblivion and bring her back to the Celestial Realm."
Li Ming pondered thoughtfully. "So your goal is to restore the Thunder Lady's majesty and make her an important presence in the Celestial Realm again?"
"Yes," Chen Yao affirmed. "We believe that her return can bring peace and prosperity to the Celestial Realm while also strengthening the power of the Hidden Realm to maintain balance among the Three Realms."
Li Ming sensed Chen Yao's deep faith in the Thunder Lady. He understood the strength and persistence behind this belief but also felt the heavy pressure it carried. "This is a grand goal but also a difficult challenge."
Chen Yao smiled slightly, determination shining in her eyes. "That's right, but we will keep striving. No matter how difficult it gets, we will not give up."
