"Damn it, what is this?" Wang Chao cursed as he looked at the strange creature that suddenly appeared from the bushes. He quickly realized it was a mutated Husky. The dog spotted Wang Chao and dashed through the grass, finally seizing the opportunity to charge at him. Wang Chao watched as the Husky, with its gaping maw, flew past him—not directly at him, but to his side. 0

The speed of the Husky was astonishing; Wang Chao had no time to dodge. To his surprise, perhaps due to poor eyesight, the Husky zipped right by him. Stunned, Wang Chao quickly moved his feet and turned to see the Zombie Dog leap several meters away. "Damn, I've heard that Huskies are idiots, but I didn't expect one to turn into a Zombie and still be this stupid!" he shouted. 0

Seeing its prey escape, the Zombie Dog immediately gave chase after landing on all fours. Wang Chao cursed under his breath—was it really necessary for it to take offense just because he insulted it a couple of times? The speed of this undead dog was unreal; Wang Chao thought it was completely unscientific. Why did humans turn into Zombies and move so slowly, yet this dog became a Zombie and was even faster than before? 0

Wang Chao felt like he could kick off sparks with how hard he was running. When he glanced back, the Husky was closing in fast. At this rate, even if he collapsed from exhaustion, he wouldn't be able to shake off this Zombie Dog. 0

Three seconds later, the Zombie Dog lunged at him again. Wang Chao realized that if this Husky caught him now, it would mean certain death. With that thought in mind, he swerved away from his vehicle and jumped down, rolling twice on the ground to dissipate his momentum. Just as he raised his head to look around, the Zombie Dog pounced again. Wang Chao quickly spun around and heard a tearing sound. 0

Then came the metallic clatter of a falling kitchen knife. 0

Wang Chao knew that his backpack had been bitten into by the Zombie Dog. Using the momentum, he twisted his waist and flung both the backpack and the dog aside. He hurriedly crouched down and grabbed the fallen knife, scanning his surroundings quickly. He noticed there were no other Zombies nearby, which calmed him somewhat. However, he also understood that the noise would have attracted many Zombies from all directions. 0

But right now, Wang Chao's primary concern was dealing with this Zombie Dog. 0

The Zombie Dog shook its head while still holding onto the backpack. Finding nothing edible inside, its gaze shifted back to Wang Chao. Looking at this blood-soaked Husky with one eye hanging out and another blood-red eye that seemed ready to burst, Wang Chao trembled in fear. Its massive mouth revealed jagged teeth that looked capable of tearing through steel. 0

Wang Chao's body shook uncontrollably. 0

Then the dog lunged at him again. Wang Chao fought against his rising panic and controlled his trembling body; he couldn't move yet. He needed to wait until the Husky was right in front of him before acting. Only then could he strike upward with his knife to take down the Zombie Dog. At that moment, Wang Chao truly understood why people often said time is money. 0

The speed of the Zombie Dog was incredible; suddenly its gaping maw was right in front of him. "Damn it! I never ate dog meat before; now you want to eat me instead? You son of a bitch!" As he spoke, Wang Chao performed a forward roll to evade the Zombie Dog's attack. Then, holding the knife with both hands, he swung upward in one swift motion. However, contrary to his expectations of a clean slice where red would flow from white, it turned out that Wang Chao's knife was too short—it only made a shallow cut on the dog's belly. 0

"Wang Chao cursed under his breath, 'Damn it, this bastard should have made the knife longer!' As the Zombie Dog lunged at him, it didn't fall but immediately turned to face Wang Chao, growling furiously as if it were at its breaking point. 0

Wang Chao noticed blood dripping from the dog's belly. The creature looked down at its own wound and extended its crimson tongue as if to lick the injury. To his shock, Wang Chao realized that the dog's tongue could reach its belly—at least a meter long, and its tongue alone must have been half a meter. 'Damn!' Wang Chao couldn't help but exclaim; that tongue was ridiculously long! 0

After licking for a moment, the dog glanced back at Wang Chao, its paws scratching at the ground restlessly, resembling a horse ready to charge. Wang Chao understood that the Zombie Dog was preparing for another attack. Sure enough, it lunged again. Wang Chao dodged once more, but this time the dog had learned; his kitchen knife could no longer find its mark on the Zombie Dog's belly. 0

In the distance, waves of Zombies were approaching him, and anxiety gripped Wang Chao. In just a few minutes, they would be upon him. If he couldn't kill this Zombie Dog in that time, there would be no escape for him. He thought about the mysterious power he had experienced in critical moments before. 0

This was a dire situation, yet that power had not manifested itself. Did it only appear in the final seconds before death? 0

Damn it! 0

Wang Chao slapped himself twice, realizing he could no longer evade; he had to confront this Zombie Dog head-on. Otherwise, in just a few minutes, he would be dead anyway. It was time to fight back; perhaps there was still a chance. With that thought in mind, Wang Chao slightly raised himself up, gripping the kitchen knife tighter, his eyes fixed intently on the Zombie Dog. The dog howled and stared back at him. 0

Man and dog seemed to lock eyes. 0

Then they both moved simultaneously! Wang Chao held his knife in one hand while keeping his other hand close to his chest for quick reactions. The distance between them was short; after just a few steps, the dog leaped again. Wang Chao knew that his knife was too short; merely dodging wouldn't be enough to take down this beast. So instead of retreating, he charged forward. 0

"You son of a dog, I'm going all out with you!" he shouted as he ran straight at it without flinching. The dog lunged through the air and opened its jaws to bite down on him. At that moment, Wang Chao unleashed his primal instincts; despite the dog's speed, his knife swung even faster. With one swift motion, he struck the dog's head—blood splattered everywhere—but he hadn't penetrated its skull! The dog seemed unfazed and landed before lunging at him again! 0

Wang Chao looked at his broken knife blade and then back at the charging Zombie Dog, cursing loudly, "Is your head harder than my blade?" 0

He swung again, but this time the dog's head moved skillfully aside to evade Wang Chao's strike. As he prepared to swing again, he saw that gaping mouth filled with a crimson tongue whipping toward him like a whip aimed directly at his face. With one hand still holding the knife mid-swing, he reached out with his other hand to push against the Zombie Dog's body." 0

Both hands struggled to pull back. 0

This dog’s tongue whip! Wang Chao actually couldn’t evade it! 0
