Hua Ying's expression shifted rapidly as she looked at Ye Yu, losing her patience in an instant. A cold glint flashed in her eyes. This was the territory of the Federation; although she was confident in her abilities, she knew this was not a place to linger.
At that moment, as Ye Yu seemed lost in thought, Hua Ying's figure blurred and shot toward him like a bolt of lightning.
Years of living with a sense of crisis had honed Ye Yu's instincts. Just as a tremendous force threatened to crush his head, pain flickered in his eyes.
Suddenly, the chaotic energy surrounding Ye Yu erupted into a powerful force, solid and robust like a wall forged from steel, steady as a mountain.
"This is advanced body training!" Hua Ying was quick to react and immediately sensed something was off with Ye Yu. However, it was too late for her to retract her attack.
In that brief moment, Hua Ying's seemingly delicate fist struck Ye Yu's chest like a roaring cannonball.
A muffled thud echoed from Ye Yu's chest where Hua Ying's slender fingers made contact.
The next instant, a faint cracking sound emerged from Hua Ying's palm, and her once pristine fingers were suddenly covered in blood, resembling a spider web.
But in the following moment, the imposing aura that had surrounded Ye Yu turned into an abnormal crimson flush on his face. Before Hua Ying could comprehend what was happening, a warm spray of blood shot onto her delicate face. Ye Yu immediately collapsed to the ground like a deflated balloon, weak and lifeless.
Hua Ying instinctively took several steps back. After glancing at the seemingly defenseless Ye Yu, she said coolly, "The Empire's advanced body training is not something you so-called civilized people can practice just because you want to. If your body training hasn't reached a certain stage, attempting to learn techniques that enhance physical potential will only bring you trouble."
For some reason, Hua Ying seemed to see a reflection of herself in Ye Yu's eyes and instinctively warned him against hastily pursuing such dangerous body-enhancing techniques.
Ye Yu couldn't help but smile bitterly at her words. Did he not know that he had only reached the second stage of body training? It was indeed pushing his limits to attempt such techniques that could improve his combat power. However, ever since he broke through to the second stage, he had made no progress in his training. To survive the special operations at Arrow Camp, he had no choice but to take risks with techniques that posed hidden dangers to his body. He carried too much on his shoulders; he couldn't afford to lose his life easily.
In the Blue Seal Empire's body training system, reaching the Third Stage laid the foundation for one's body. Only upon reaching the Fourth Stage could one begin practicing various techniques to enhance combat power. However, there were also advanced techniques that could be learned upon reaching just the Third Stage. Of course, Ye Yu was unaware of all this; his knowledge of body training came solely from his father.
"Thank you for your reminder!" Ye Yu stood up unsteadily; his legs felt weak, but he gritted his teeth and straightened himself. Instinctively, he began to move slowly toward the direction of the mech.
He had recklessly unleashed his body training technique only to barely block Hua Ying's strike and had exhausted all his strength. Now even taking a few more steps required immense willpower.
"Hmph! I'm only sparing you because you share some bloodline with the Empire; I don't want you dying without reason!" As Hua Ying approached Ye Yu, her expression grew resolute. As a prodigy of the Empire's First Military Academy, she had to complete this graduation task!
"I am Huaying from the Imperial First Academy. Remember this day, for it will be the day I kill you. If you have any last words, now is the time to tell me!"
Ye Yu was taken aback. He knew that his opponent was not someone ordinary, but he never expected her to be a student from the highest academy of the Blue Seal Empire. This institution was well-known even in the Federation. After all, the rulers of the empire graduated from this school. It gathered the most promising elites of the entire empire and was referred to by its people as the cradle of imperial generals. Seventy percent of the marshals and generals of the empire were born here, giving it an extremely significant status throughout the empire, akin to an unshakeable pillar.
However, Ye Yu quickly realized that she intended to kill him without hesitation! Gathering the last bit of strength he had, he leaped toward the direction of the mech, where his only hope lay—the Phase Gun!
At that moment, Huaying would not give Ye Yu a chance. As soon as he made a move, she accelerated and almost instantly reached the mech, snatching up the Phase Gun.
"I must admit, your Federation's technology is quite impressive. Even the best craftsmen in the empire would find it hard to create something as exquisitely crafted as this Phase Gun!"
Hearing this, Ye Yu's vision blurred as a beautiful face came into close proximity, accompanied by a faint fragrance. Yet, he had no thoughts of appreciating it.
No matter what, Ye Yu was unwilling to die just like that. Ignoring his image, he rolled on the ground and hid behind the mech. However, due to his large movements, his wounds tore open again, and he felt thick liquid flowing from his body, accompanied by a sharp smell of blood.
"If you move again, I will detonate this mech and take you down with me!" Ye Yu shouted while leaning against the mech, though his voice lacked strength.
"Hmph! Go ahead and try!" Huaying replied, her entire being radiating a fierce killing intent. The next moment, Ye Yu felt an overwhelming force coming from the other side of the mech!
Already severely injured, Ye Yu could not withstand such immense power even through the mech. He felt a tightness in his chest and lost consciousness.
...
After an unknown amount of time passed, Ye Yu suddenly jolted awake. The next moment, he was horrified to realize that he couldn't move at all; even his eyelids felt as heavy as lead and refused to open.
"Doctor Cao, how is this suspect? He has been unconscious for nine nights; is he..." At that moment, a stern male voice echoed in Ye Yu's ears. He instinctively wanted to ask where he was but found that he could barely hear and couldn't even open his mouth.
"Officer Ding, please lower your voice. My patient's condition has stabilized somewhat; do not disturb his rest." The next moment, a melodious female voice rang out in Ye Yu's ears like a bubbling spring water, bringing a refreshing sensation.
"Doctor Cao, there has been an appearance of unregistered mechs in my jurisdiction. I assume you already know about this; it's caused quite a stir even reaching Dragon City Lord's ears. If I don't investigate this matter thoroughly soon, I might as well resign as Chief of Police." The middle-aged man's voice carried a hint of helplessness. He never expected that amidst all the chaos on this planet, high-level military mechs would suddenly appear. Such occurrences could easily trigger sensitive nerves within the Federal Military regarding Sin City.
"Even if my patient is indeed your suspect, you must wait until he recovers before questioning him. You cannot keep interrupting his treatment!"
Doctor Cao turned away, her flowing golden hair shimmering like a radiant sun as it cascaded over her shoulders. However, the delicate features of her face bore a hint of coldness, clearly displeased by the intrusion of the middle-aged officer.
"When I found him next to the mech, he was the only one there. I had no choice but to suspect him. The problem is, he has no identification on him. We ran a genetic match and found that he is not registered as anyone on this planet!"
As the police chief of one of the thirty districts of the Northern Special Administrative Star, he was not easily intimidated by a young doctor. He straightened his uniform and stepped closer to the bedside, clearly wanting to take another look at the seemingly youthful suspect.
Ye Yu listened and realized that one misstep could lead him to prison. As a member of Arrow Camp, they had erased any identifying marks from their equipment and themselves to ensure mission safety. He never expected this mission would fail so miserably, leaving him unable to contact his superiors and ending up under police surveillance as a suspect!
However, Ye Yu currently lacked even the strength to move a finger, leaving him no chance to defend himself.
"I won't concern myself with this, Officer Ding. Please leave, or I will have to report you to the mayor. I believe someone will have a talk with you then!"
At that moment, Ye Yu suddenly felt a coolness on his forehead; a delicate hand was checking his temperature before withdrawing after a few seconds.
"Ah..." Doctor Cao sighed lightly. "It's almost ten o'clock, and he's still burning with fever."
Hearing this, Officer Ding shook his head. "I, Ding Dong, will not let a criminal go free, nor will I falsely accuse an innocent person! When he wakes up, there will be a fair judgment!"
With that, the burly middle-aged man turned and left the special ward, quickly disappearing down the long corridor of the hospital.
