In a corner of the bustling city, Su Xiaoxiao's life seemed to have fallen into a monotonous cycle. Every day began with a leisurely afternoon, savoring the exquisite dishes prepared by the chef and enjoying the tranquility that fishing brought. However, this routine did not last long, as Su Xiaoxiao's heart began to yearn for change.
One day, the phone call from her agent, Huang Yuan, shattered this peace. Huang Yuan anxiously inquired about Su Xiaoxiao's whereabouts, scolding her for going missing without notice. Su Xiaoxiao casually explained that she was just at home and her phone had run out of battery. Huang Yuan was puzzled as to why Su Xiaoxiao suddenly refused to return to work. Yet, Su Xiaoxiao appeared indifferent; she told Huang Yuan that she had no intention of going back, which left Huang Yuan in shock.
Su Xiaoxiao's attitude frustrated Huang Yuan, who tried to persuade her, but she remained firm in her decision. After hanging up the phone, Su Xiaoxiao felt an unprecedented sense of relief; she decided not to return to that stressful work environment.
Meanwhile, Su Liyan learned of Su Xiaoxiao's unwillingness to come back and felt angry. She viewed Su Xiaoxiao's departure as a challenge to her authority. In response, Su Liyan decided to stop paying Su Xiaoxiao's salary as a way to express her dissatisfaction.
Su Liyan's coldness made Huang Yuan uneasy; he attempted to defend Su Xiaoxiao, but Su Liyan was unmoved. She was more concerned about an upcoming influencer party and hoped Huang Yuan could help her prepare a stunning outfit and accessories to shine at the event.
On another front, Liu Bin was detained by the police for an attempted robbery. When Zhu Family Parents learned of this news, they hurried to the police station in hopes of bailing Liu Bin out. However, the police's refusal left them helpless. In desperation, they decided to seek out Su Xiaoxiao, hoping she could assist Liu Bin.
The arrival of Zhu Family Parents surprised the servants of the the Su Family. They learned that Su Xiaoxiao had gone to the Bo Family, which left Zhu Family Parents confused. They were unaware of why Su Xiaoxiao had suddenly gone to the Bo Family or when she would return. Everything was shrouded in uncertainty and change.
Within the luxurious mansion of the the Su Family, a layer of mystery seemed to envelop Su Xiaoxiao's life. Her mother, Mother Su, was a strict and sharp-tongued matriarch who was always harsh with the household staff. On this day, she was reprimanding a cleaning lady who accidentally broke a vase, demanding compensation amounting to two million.
"Two million?" The cleaning lady exclaimed in shock. "You're clearly extorting me!"
Mother Su smirked with pride and replied defiantly, "I am extorting you; what can you do about it?"
This scene was witnessed by Zhu Family Parents, who had come looking for Su Xiaoxiao due to her sudden disappearance. Mother Su informed them that Su Xiaoxiao had gone to the Bo Family, which shocked Mr. Zhu.
After Zhu Family Parents left, Mother Su's expression darkened; she felt anger over Su Xiaoxiao's disappearance. When Su Liyan returned home and learned about Su Xiaoxiao’s situation, she pulled out surveillance footage from an auction where it appeared that Su Xiaoxiao had indeed purchased expensive items. This led Mother Su and Su Liyan to begin suspecting whether Su Xiaoxiao was being kept by someone.
"Where did she get the money for those things?" Mother Su wondered aloud.
"I don't know," Su Liyan shook her head.
"Could it be that she's being kept?" Mother Su speculated.
"Being kept?" Su Liyan exclaimed in shock.
"Yes," Mother Su nodded.
"If she were being kept, how could she be with President Bo?" Su Liyan questioned in confusion.
"Perhaps she's being kept by President Bo," Mother Su suggested.
"Being kept by President Bo?" Su Liyan was astonished.
"Yes," Mother Su affirmed with a nod.
"This... how could that be possible?" Su Liyan found it hard to believe.
"Why is it impossible?" Mother Su countered.
"How could President Bo possibly be interested in her?" Su Liyan frowned and said.
"How do you know that President Bo isn't interested in her?" Mother Su countered.
"I..." Su Liyan was at a loss for words.
