The town under the moonlight looks like it's soaking in clear water.
Fang Teng stole gasoline and poured it around a house. He threw away the gasoline can and took out a lighter from his pocket, intending to ignite it. At that moment, a seven or eight-year-old child walked out of the house with a vacant expression.
Fang Teng tensed up, staring at the child, but the child seemed not to notice Fang Teng, just walking forward blankly.
Sleepwalking? Fang Teng watched the child vigilantly and waved a hand in front of him, but the child remained unmoved.
Fang Teng ignored the child and took out a lighter again. Unexpectedly, the child behind her slipped on the gasoline and woke up from the fall. He opened his eyes and saw Fang Teng, then started crying and shouting.
"Your mother!" Fang Teng rushed over and covered the child's mouth and nose, pressing him tightly underneath her.
Fang Teng's grip on the child grew stronger and stronger, and all he could think of was the image of those children mocking him: "You brought this upon yourself!"
The child's feet kept struggling, and just when there was almost no movement, a woman's voice came from behind.
Fang Teng suddenly turned around and saw that it was her homeroom teacher, Ye Qianyun, who looked surprised as she gazed at Fang Teng. Behind her were several stray dogs. Fang Teng knew that Ye Qianyun often fed the stray dogs in town with leftover food at night.
"What are you doing!" Ye Qianyun exclaimed, and the dog behind her started barking as well.
Fang Teng's mind cleared, and he didn't answer the homeroom teacher, but hurriedly turned and fled from there.
He didn't know how long he had been running with his head down, until he was exhausted and collapsed under a tree, panting heavily. He didn't understand how he had been so bewitched by the face behind him, almost burning down the entire town.
"Damn, what the hell is going on?" Fang Teng pounded the lump on the back of his head.
He picked up a stone and smashed it fiercely at the back of the man's head, causing a bloody mess before he himself passed out.

When he woke up, Fang Teng saw a ragged Long-haired old man sitting beside him.
"What kind of person are you?" Fang Teng looked the old man up and down, then glanced around and realized she was in a cave. Inside the cave, there was a simple bed and some household items like a broken bowl and a stove.
The long-haired old man said, "What kind of person are you?"
"Playing tricks with the gods!" Fang Teng got up and wanted to leave.
Long-haired old man pushed aside the hair at the back of his head, revealing a bulging mass of flesh: "See, just like you, I once had a face, but I got rid of that face."
Fang Teng I leaned in to take a closer look at the old man's face tumor at the back of his head. I could still vaguely see the shape of his face, but his features had been worn away.
"What on earth happened? How did you manage to get rid of this thing?"
The old man stroked his beard and said, "You have been possessed by an evil spirit, and a face-like lump will slowly grow on the back of your head. If you want to remove the face on the back of your head, I will give you a map. Find Tuya Village and seek out the village chief. He will help you for free. He saved me years ago. Everyone in that village is just like us, mostly with two faces."
Fang Teng took the map and glanced at it, realizing that the village was located in the mountains hundreds of kilometers away from the current town.
"Is it that far? How should I get there?"
The old man got up and walked towards the entrance of the cave: "It's just a matter of a train ticket."
Fang Teng looked down at the map, hesitating. He didn't know if he should trust the old man, but the thought of being called a monster and having nowhere to go made him determined to go to Tuya Village alone. He just wanted to become a normal person again and live a good life with his family in town.
With that in mind, Fang Teng took a deep breath, grabbed some loose change from the old man's bedside, and dashed out of the cave.

This is Fang Teng's first time traveling alone. He found a piece of black cloth and wrapped it around the back of his face tumor, nervously boarding the train.
He leaned against the side of the carriage, listening to the rumbling of the train, and fell asleep.
Four hours later, a long whistle sounded, and the train stopped at the station. The conductor woke him up.
Fang Teng looked up at the continuous and undulating mountains outside the window, then turned to the chaotic crowd and, in a daze, left the station. Following the map, he walked for over two hours and arrived at the foot of a mountain, where the sky had completely darkened by this time.
Not far away, there was a house with dim yellow lights inside, but Fang Teng didn't dare to approach for lodging, so he had to huddle under a big tree and prepare to sleep.
The cold wind at night was too strong, and Fang Teng shivered all over, his stomach also growling with hunger. He swallowed hard, and suddenly the door of the room was pushed open, and a little girl came out.
The girl was about eight years old, with her hair tied in a ponytail. She peered at Fang Teng for a while before calling out in a childish voice, "Mom, there's a big brother over there."
Fang Teng immediately wanted to turn and leave upon hearing this, but a woman from inside the house called out to him, "Child, wait, it's cold outside, come in here and take shelter for a moment."
Before she finished speaking, the woman and the girl had already come over, Fang Teng tightly wrapped his head in black cloth, afraid it might fall off and startle the two of them.
"Poor child, where did you come from?"
Fang Teng said nothing, just looked at the mother and daughter.
The woman sighed and said, "You must have encountered some difficulties, come back to our room and rest for the night."
"Yes, brother, come back with me," the little girl said, tugging at Fang Teng's sleeve.
Fang Teng Suddenly felt that the tone of this woman's speech was very similar to her own mother's. After thinking for a moment, she followed the mother and daughter into the house.
Inside, there was a man and an elderly woman, who seemed to be the woman's husband and mother-in-law. The elderly woman brought a pot of soup to the table and, upon seeing Fang Teng, asked, "Where is this child from? Did you run away from home?"
The woman just smiled and shook her head, "Not speaking, probably shy, let's eat first."
The man also seemed enthusiastic, brought over utensils and invited Fang Teng to sit down, and kept serving Fang Teng food during the meal.
The little girl also smiled and said, "Daddy, I want some too."
"Sure, eat more so you can grow tall," the man smiled and picked up a piece of chicken, affectionately patting the girl's head.
Fang Teng looked at this family and felt inexplicably moved. She never expected to encounter such a good family on the road.
After dinner, the elderly woman cleaned a guest room for Fang Teng, who quietly thanked her and carefully went in to sleep.
The little girl and her parents were all sleeping in the next room. Fang Teng turned over on the wooden bed and soon heard the faint snoring of the couple.
In the deep of the night, Fang Teng was suddenly awakened by the sound of an argument. She opened her eyes and listened carefully. It was the couple next door having a heated argument, followed by the little girl bursting into loud sobs.
"I already said I don't want to give birth anymore, can you stop bothering me?" the woman angrily shouted.
The man also shouted loudly, "What's wrong with having one more? Our mother has always wanted a boy, can't you just listen to her once?"
Fang Teng was surprised to hear the elderly woman in the room say, "Without a son, how will the family line continue?" The little girl continued to cry loudly, and Fang Teng got out of bed quietly and peeked out of the room to see the couple standing in the living room looking very angry.
The woman almost hysterically shouted, "I said I won't give birth, we already have a child!"
After cursing loudly for a few moments, the man suddenly spoke in a cold voice, "So, only if we don't have a child, will you give birth to another one."
After the man finished speaking, his head suddenly twisted, and a bulge appeared at the back of his head. Slowly, a face protruded and leaned towards the little girl's head, opening its mouth and biting down.
The girl let out a scream and then became unresponsive. Blood splattered onto the faces of the woman and the elderly woman. A distorted face lump also grew on the back of their heads. They stared expressionlessly as the man slowly devoured the fallen girl.
Fang Teng was completely stunned, staring blankly at everything, the smell of blood filling the entire room.
After the little girl on the ground was reduced to just a skeleton, the couple and the elderly woman slowly turned their heads and stared at Fang Teng with a sickly smile...
