Homecoming and Reunion
I decided to return to my country by the end of the year.
First, I wanted to see the friends who cared about me.
Second, I wanted to have a good talk with Bo Jingtian.
With that, I confirmed my return date.
Bo Jingtian soon found out.
He arranged his work and hurriedly left the company.
He was in such a rush that he bumped into an employee, but he didn't get angry.
"What's wrong with the President?" one employee asked curiously.
"He seems very happy," another employee observed.
"That's true," the first employee agreed.
"Could it be that the Madam has returned?" they speculated.
"That's possible," they thought this likelihood was quite high.
And so, Bo Jingtian arrived at the airport.
He came an hour early and waited for me at the exit.
"Bo Jingtian!" I exclaimed in surprise when I saw him.
"You've come back," Bo Jingtian said happily.
"Yes," I nodded in response.
"Welcome back," Bo Jingtian said as he handed me a bouquet of roses.
"Thank you," I accepted the flowers.
"Let's go home," Bo Jingtian suggested.
"Okay," I agreed.
With that, he took me to the newly purchased villa.
"Aren't you going back?" I asked, noticing he had no intention of leaving.
"I'm waiting for you to settle in," Bo Jingtian explained.
"I've already settled in," I told him.
"Oh," Bo Jingtian said, sounding a bit disappointed.
"Would you like to stay for dinner?" I invited him.
"Is that okay?" Bo Jingtian asked eagerly.
"Of course," I nodded.
"What do you want to eat?" I asked him.
"Anything is fine," he replied without being picky.
"Then I'll make the decision," I announced.
"Alright," he agreed.
I opened my suitcase and took out some ingredients.
"You brought ingredients?" Bo Jingtian said in surprise.
"Yes," I nodded.
"It seems you had this planned all along," Bo Jingtian said, touched.
"Yeah," I admitted.
"I'm going to cook," I said as I walked into the kitchen with the ingredients.
Bo Jingtian followed me.
"I'll help you," he offered.
"No need, I can manage on my own," I declined his kind offer.
"But I want to help," Bo Jingtian insisted.
"Okay then," I relented.
With that, Bo Jingtian began assisting me.
Once I finished cooking, I brought the dishes out.
"Dinner's ready!" I called out.
"It smells amazing," Bo Jingtian exclaimed.
"Of course it does," I said proudly.
"Give it a try," I urged him.
"Sure," Bo Jingtian picked up his chopsticks.
"How is it?" I asked expectantly.
"It's delicious," Bo Jingtian praised.
"Really?" I asked uncertainly.
"Yes," Bo Jingtian affirmed.
"Then I can rest easy," I said, feeling satisfied.
"Why did you make these dishes?" Bo Jingtian asked curiously.
"Because..." I paused for a moment.
"Because these are your favorite dishes," I told him.
"You remember!" Bo Jingtian exclaimed in surprise.
"Yes," I nodded.
"I thought you had forgotten long ago," Bo Jingtian said, a bit embarrassed.
"No," I denied.
"It seems I'm important to you," Bo Jingtian said happily.
"Yes," I admitted.
"Then will you still leave?" Bo Jingtian asked with concern.
"Not for now," I replied.
"What about later?" Bo Jingtian asked anxiously.
"We'll talk about the future when it comes," I said, not having thought it through yet.
"Alright," Bo Jingtian agreed reluctantly.
"If you want to leave, just let me know; don't disappear without a word," Bo Jingtian requested.
"Okay," I promised.
"Can you give me a chance?" Bo Jingtian asked cautiously.
"..." I remained silent.
"If you don't say anything, I'll take it as a yes," Bo Jingtian said cheerfully.
"..." I still didn't respond.
And so, we maintained our silence. After finishing the meal, Bo Jingtian didn't leave.
"I'm going now," he said reluctantly.
"Mm," I nodded.
"Don't you have anything to say to me?" Bo Jingtian asked eagerly.
"No," I shook my head.
"Oh," Bo Jingtian replied, a bit disappointed.
"Well, okay then," he said, giving up.
With that, he left.
In the days that followed, Bo Jingtian took care of me as my boyfriend. He made time every day to have meals with me, enjoy leisure activities, and even helped me with company matters.
"Are you still getting used to it?" I asked him.
"Mm-hmm," he nodded.
"That's good," I said, feeling relieved.
Thus, I enjoyed Bo Jingtian's care. Soon, the Spring Festival was approaching.
"Happy Birthday!" My friends Ivy, Li Xiaoliu, and other colleagues came to celebrate my birthday with me.
"Thank you," I said gratefully.
"Look, this is the birthday party we prepared for you," they pointed to the decorations in the hall.
"It's beautiful," I marveled.
"And this," they wheeled out a gigantic cake.
"So extravagant!" I exclaimed in surprise.
"It says 'Happy Birthday, Richie Rich' on top," they read aloud.
"I'm very satisfied," I said happily.
"As long as you like it," they replied joyfully.
And so, we began the birthday party. We had a great time playing and eating together.
"Xiaoxiao, this is a gift for you," they handed me a gift box.
"Thank you," I expressed my gratitude.
"You're welcome," they said generously.
"Open it and see if you like it," they urged with anticipation.
"Okay." I agreed.
Then, I opened the gift box. Inside was a diamond necklace.
"It's beautiful," I said happily.
"I'm glad you like it," they replied, visibly relieved.
We chatted for a long time, and it wasn't until late at night that everyone began to leave.
"Xiaoxiao, we're heading out," they said as they bid me farewell.
"Goodbye," I waved back.
And just like that, they all left.
"Xiaoxiao, you really seemed happy today," Bo Jingtian said softly, his voice carrying a hint of satisfaction and tenderness.
I nodded with a smile, my heart filled with gratitude. "Yes, this is the most unforgettable birthday I've had in years."
He reached out and gently took my hand. "Then let's end this special day in a unique way."
Curiously, I looked at him as he led me out of the hall and into the villa's backyard. The garden was softly lit, fragrant with flowers, everything felt so romantic and mysterious.
"What are you bringing me here for?" I asked, filled with anticipation.
Bo Jingtian didn't answer but smiled as he pointed to the center of the garden. Following his gesture, I saw a small, exquisite swing adorned with twinkling lights, resembling a scene from a fairy tale.
"Did you prepare this?" I asked in surprise.
"I wanted to give you a surprise," he said gently as he helped me onto the swing and stood beside me, giving it a light push.
The swing swayed slowly as I closed my eyes, feeling the breeze brush against my cheeks while Bo Jingtian's soft singing filled my ears. His voice was warm and heartfelt, as if telling our story.
"Will you give me a chance to be your partner in life?"
I opened my eyes and looked into his expectant gaze, warmth flooding my heart. I nodded gently and smiled, saying, "I will."
A radiant smile blossomed on Bo Jingtian's face as he walked over and held my hand tightly. We sat on the swing together, gazing at the starry sky while feeling each other's heartbeat and warmth.
"Xiaoxiao, from now on, whether in laughter or tears, I will be by your side," Bo Jingtian's voice was firm yet gentle.
I nestled into his embrace, filled with happiness and peace. On this special night, we made an eternal promise that would accompany us through every day and night of our future together.
The moonlight flowed like water and the stars twinkled above us; our shadows intertwined in the garden, creating an everlasting picture. This birthday not only marked a new chapter in my life but also heralded our shared future filled with infinite possibilities and hope.
