With a glance, He Dong stepped out as well. Rao Jie, however, was not forced to lie in bed like before. It was unclear what Wu Rong was thinking, allowing her to sit neatly in the room and talk to Long Yong.
Rao Jie didn’t oppose it; after all, it felt strange to talk to someone while lying in bed. Wu Xin's room had a tatami design, and the two sat there conversing.
"You have something to say to me, privately?" Long Yong asked softly, his expression still wearing a perfect smile.
Rao Jie paused for a moment but nodded. When she looked up at Long Yong, her gaze was resolute. However, just for an instant of contact, Long Yong turned away.
"Senior, thank you for coming to see me, thank you for your concern. I..." Rao Jie hadn’t finished her sentence when Long Yong interrupted her.
His smile turned slightly bitter as he said, "I'm most afraid of you saying thank you. Those two words are quite cruel; they create a distance between us. Do you often say that to Professor Wu as well?"
Thank you? Rao Jie thought for a moment and nodded.
Long Yong’s smile relaxed immediately. "That's good; at least I still have a chance to compete."
Rao Jie was taken aback, her expression one of astonishment.
Long Yong smiled calmly. "You know, don’t you? Professor Wu's feelings for you."
Now Rao Jie was even more surprised, her eyes wide as she stared at Long Yong.
He found her natural and adorable expression delightful. "It seems you do know. So what do you want to tell me? I probably already understand, but I don’t want to hear it from you. To me, as long as you haven’t officially become his girlfriend, I have the right to compete fairly for you. I can accept you staying here, but please don’t refuse my invitation out of guilt."
Rao Jie hadn’t said anything yet, but it felt as if Long Yong could see right through her—he voiced everything she wanted to say and the feelings she had buried deep inside, even offering solutions for her.
Rao Jie often felt that whether it was Wu Rong or Long Yong, she couldn’t keep up with their way of thinking.
Looking at the dazed Rao Jie, Long Yong’s voice lowered slightly. "Rao Jie, tell me, do you like Wu Rong?"
Rao Jie was startled; many thoughts and images flashed through her mind, but she couldn’t provide an answer. "I... I don’t know."
Long Yong smiled lightly; he knew that in Rao Jie’s heart, he and Wu Rong were viewed differently. But he didn’t want to remind her of that; he wanted to fight for himself until the very end.
He regretted not competing before; now that they hadn’t established a relationship yet, he would seize the opportunity.
"Therefore, don't take away my opportunity. You don't need to feel guilty about it; this is something I willingly accept, regardless of the outcome."
With Long Yong saying that, Rao Jie felt that if she refused again, she would truly be plagued by her conscience. She couldn't bear to see such a gentle senior hurt because of her. Deep down, she knew she should stop everything now, but with Long Yong having closed off all other options, she had no choice but to nod.

When Long Yong left, it was Wu Rong who saw him out. Long Yong had something to say to Wu Rong, so he asked He Dong to wait ahead for a moment.
Wu Rong and Long Yong stood at the door, neither looking at the other. Yet, standing together, there was no sense of superiority between them.
After a moment of silence, Long Yong suddenly spoke up, "Professor Wu, I like Rao Jie. I am officially pursuing her."
Long Yong spoke without hesitation, diving straight into the topic.
