Fatty insisted on taking action immediately, while Guai Zi Liu expressed his discontent: "First, we need to find out if the Nine-Headed Bird is at the casino. Otherwise, it would be pointless to go." 0

Fatty shot him a sideways glance. "I'm going to rescue someone. Does it really matter if he's there or not? If he has other intentions, knowing I'm coming will definitely make him show up. I don't want him to be prepared." 0

I looked at Guai Zi Liu with a cold gaze. I never trusted his words, and his current demeanor only confirmed my suspicions about his ulterior motives. 0

Guai Zi Liu awkwardly chuckled, shrugged his shoulders, and feigned nonchalance. "Alright then, I'll follow your lead." 0

Soon after, one of Guai Zi Liu's men brought in a black briefcase. Fatty shooed me and Guai Zi Liu out of the room and stayed inside alone to untie the bundle of USD bills he had wrapped around his waist and put them into the briefcase. I suspected he was being cautious of Guai Zi Liu, fearing that he might betray us for profit. However, Fatty was taking quite a long time inside; surely he wasn't counting the money again? I grew anxious and couldn't help but grumble inwardly. 0

When Fatty finally emerged with the black briefcase, Guai Zi Liu and I were already sitting in a Toyota SUV, growing impatient. Fatty opened the passenger side door and slid into the car, flashing Guai Zi Liu a mysterious smile. "Let's go." 0

To my surprise, Guai Zi Liu's face turned pale as he replied, "Can't you sit in the back?" 0

Fatty chuckled. "Does it make a difference?" 0

Through the rearview mirror, I could see Guai Zi Liu's bony face twitch slightly as he fell silent. He started the engine, and the SUV drove out of the yard onto a narrow, muddy mountain road, carrying the three of us away from the village. 0

Throughout the journey, Guai Zi Liu's expression remained grim. I figured that Fatty's insistence on immediate action had disrupted his plans. 0

After more than an hour, Guai Zi Liu stopped the car and pointed to a nearby village. "That's it up ahead. I can't go in; if I show my face, this whole thing is bound to fail." 0

"Alright, you wait here," Fatty said as he opened the car door. "As soon as you hear any commotion, come over to pick us up." 0

Fatty nodded at me, signaling me to get out of the car. We walked along the road towards the Village. As we got out, I noticed Guai Zi Liu pulling out a dark object the size of a fingernail and placing it on a piece of tin foil, heating it with a lighter underneath. It seemed he was extremely nervous and was preparing to take a couple of puffs to calm his nerves. 0

The Village was small, and Fatty seemed to know the way, heading directly towards a cluster of wooden houses. A few people outside were looking at us with ill intent. As we approached, Fatty's eyes scanned their faces one by one before finally resting on a thin man. Gritting his teeth, he said, "Monkey, I'm here to redeem someone. Bring them over." 0

The thin man showed a hint of fear. "Where's the money? Who are you redeeming?" 0

Fatty slapped his briefcase and cursed, "Who are you redeeming? Stop playing dumb. I brought the money, but I want to see the person first." 0

The thin man's face flushed. "Brother Jiu isn't here; he has to handle this. Wait until he comes back and talk to him." 0

Fatty's eyes widened in anger. "I brought the money, and you still won't release the person? What does that mean?" 0

As he spoke, Fatty stepped forward. The thin man was clearly at a disadvantage in height, weight, and presence, and he instinctively took a step back. However, Monkey's fear of Fatty didn't mean that everyone else was scared. At that moment, when Fatty's fierce demeanor became apparent, one of the men beside Monkey not only didn't retreat but stepped forward and started chattering away in what I assumed was Burmese. 0

After listening to him, Fatty grinned viciously and turned to me. "Step back a bit." 0

I nervously asked, "What are you doing?" 0

"This guy wants to challenge me one-on-one," Fatty replied as he handed me the briefcase. "Hold onto this." 0

A one-on-one challenge. I looked at the man; he wasn't very tall but was quite sturdy with dark skin and a scar at the corner of his eye that made him look fierce. However, I trusted Fatty's abilities more; in my impression, he had never lost a one-on-one fight. 0

I had just taken a few steps back while holding the briefcase when the man suddenly lunged forward, swaying slightly as he threw two punches at Fatty. Fatty raised his arm to block one punch, but the other landed solidly on his face with what looked like considerable force; I saw Fatty's head jerk back slightly. 0

Damn. My heart tightened; it seemed Fatty had been careless. 0

Who would have thought that Fatty would suddenly slam his head forward at a certain angle? At that moment, the Burmese had already charged in front of Fatty, leaping up to deliver a heavy punch. Fatty's big head collided with his, and even from a distance, I heard a dull thud. The Burmese, suspended in mid-air, seemed to lose all strength, crashing back down like a piece of rotten meat. Before he hit the ground, Fatty lifted a foot and kicked him away several meters. It appeared that it had just rained here; the Ground in the Village was muddy. The Burmese rolled several times on the ground, coming to a stop covered in mud, with one arm grotesquely bent behind his head—clearly broken. Two people ran over to check his breathing; he was still alive. They picked him up and hurried toward a wooden house. Fatty ignored them and suddenly turned to look at the monkey, who shivered at his gaze, clearly ready to flee at any moment. 0

"Can you take me to see Da Zhang now?" Fatty asked the monkey with red eyes. I couldn't tell if he was genuinely frantic or just dazed from the earlier collision. 0

The response came as a crisp sound of a gun being cocked. At the same time, I heard someone behind me say, " Brother Jiu wants you to come over; follow me." I turned around to see two individuals dressed in black ethnic clothing standing not far behind me. They were clearly Southeast Asian, both short, about one meter sixty tall. It seemed that Fatty's earlier display of strength had frightened them; realizing their own lack of intimidation, they opted for their guns instead. Fatty glanced at these two before turning back to the monkey: "Let's go; we're going to see Nine-Headed Bird." The monkey shook his head vigorously as if afraid that Fatty would grab him and retreated a few steps. 0

With a cold laugh, Fatty turned and walked toward the two men in black. As he passed by me, he reached for his briefcase. In front of a larger wooden house, the two black-clad men stopped; one of them said, "We're here," but stood at the door without any intention of letting us in. Fatty chuckled darkly, "Your lives are damn precious." He reached behind his waist and pulled out two handguns, handing one to each of the black-clad men before turning back to signal me to hand over my weapons. Under the threat of their AK-47s, we had no choice but to comply; I pulled out my two handguns and handed them over. I felt secretly relieved that Fatty still had another one hidden away. 0

But it wasn't over yet; the black-clad man tucked away four handguns and proceeded to pat down Fatty, discovering another handgun hidden in his pant leg. " Fatty cursed under his breath: 'Damn it.'" The black-clad man immediately chambered a round in that handgun and pointed it at Fatty, coldly commanding him, "Open it." 0

With two clicks, Fatty pressed open the spring lock and lifted the case halfway open, revealing neatly stacked bundles of USD. The black-clad man's eyes lit up as he reached for it, but Fatty slammed the case shut with a loud clap. "This is money for Save Me. Take me to see Nine-Headed Bird." The black-clad man greedily eyed the briefcase in Fatty's hands but ultimately dared not act recklessly. He stepped past Fatty to search me before pushing open the door for us to enter the room. 0
