My dagger's blade was over three inches long, and even when it was fully embedded, it didn't hit anything hard. If this thing was growing on the Cave Wall, its thickness was quite considerable. 0

I sliced off a piece as if cutting a watermelon. This substance was more resilient than I had imagined; it held firm in my hand without softening or breaking apart. 0

Taking a bite, a subtle fragrance blossomed in my mouth, cool and devoid of any unpleasant taste. There were no other flavors, just that faint aroma, which reassured me of its non-toxic nature. 0

Still, I continued to eat slowly, savoring each bite. I could feel it sliding down my esophagus with a cool sensation after being chewed. There was no irritation at all, and surprisingly, I felt a sense of pleasure. This feeling whetted my appetite even more; however, I always had a good appetite, especially when my stomach was pressed against my spine. 0

I never leaned over the Light Barrier like Jack did to gnaw at it, but I still consumed quite a bit. The Light Barrier before me had been transformed into an abstract painting over a meter wide. It was far more visually appealing than the irregular circle Jack had chewed out. 0

It wasn't until my stomach felt as round as a drum and green liquid bubbled up in my throat that I reluctantly sheathed my dagger. Looking over, I found Jack sprawled on the ground with his legs spread wide. 0

I couldn't believe I had eaten so much. While it solved our hunger problem in one go, the downside was that neither of us could move now. I glanced at Jack's belly and thought he was lucky not to have burst. 0

I fared slightly better; I stopped eating when I felt full. Jack sat on the ground with a pained expression as he rubbed his belly, clearly uncomfortable from overeating. I settled down beside him and noticed he had loosened his belt. At this point, there was nothing more to be done; I hoped he wouldn't burst. 0

We leaned against the soft green glow behind us, and at least I felt satisfied as I rubbed my round belly since I hadn't overindulged to discomfort. 0

At that moment, we were facing the direction we had come from. For the first time, I had the chance to carefully observe the scenery ahead. The light spread far and illuminated everything clearly before me. The ground was dotted with Stalactites and stone pillars that appeared dense from my angle, giving a sense of being unable to find footing. It seemed like our path was submerged in an endless forest of stone. 0

"The forest is really dense," Jack murmured. 0

I could tell he was also taking in the view and shared my sentiments. 0

Then my eyelids began to droop; the scenery before me started to blur. It had been a long time since I'd closed my eyes for any length of time, and now sleepiness hit me like a mountain pressing down—I knew there was no resisting it. Fortunately, Jack should have trouble sleeping; he had eaten too much and kept making grunting noises. 0

"I'm going to sleep for a bit; wake me if something comes up," were my last words. 0

I heard Jack respond with something, but his voice sounded distant and muffled. 0

I thought this might be the sweetest sleep I'd had in a long time; it felt wonderful to drift off and sleep until waking naturally. 0

When I woke up, I felt that the environment had changed. I shook my head to quickly pull myself out of sleep. Suddenly, it dawned on me—there was no light. 0

Before me was darkness. Terrifying darkness. Not a glimmer of light. I strained my eyes open, trying to confirm that I wasn't still dreaming. 0

My heart sank. "Jack," I called out softly. 0

There was no response. No glow from his watch either. 0

I reached out beside me, where Jack should have been, but instead, my hand met hard, cold rock. In an instant, cold sweat trickled down my forehead. 0

I quickly turned on the One-Eyed Beast Flashlight, its blinding white light illuminating the rocks around me. Even the reflected light was too bright to look at directly. I squinted to adjust and swiftly swung the flashlight toward the distance. 0

Despite the harsh brightness of the One-Eyed Beast's flashlight, it was clear that Jack, a person of his size, was not beside me. As I shone the flashlight further away, I immediately jumped up, but my heart sank even lower. 0

This place was not where I had just been; there was no glowing green wall. No stalactites or stone pillars scattered around. Most importantly, Jack was gone. 0

Had I crossed over? That was my first thought. But I quickly dismissed it. 0

I had been imprisoned. 0

This was another space; the light from the One-Eyed Beast Flashlight could reach across to the other side, indicating that this area wasn’t large. The walls and ground were made of gray and brown stone, far shorter than before; the flashlight easily illuminated the ceiling. Although uneven, there were no stalactites hanging down. 0

I stood in front of a cave wall, where I had just been leaning against while sleeping. I reached out and knocked on the cave wall—it was solid rock. 0

How did I get here? Where was Jack? These questions flashed through my mind; I knew no one would provide answers—I would have to find them myself. 0

I wasn’t panicking to the point of losing control; despite the overwhelming fear making me sweat profusely, my mind remained clear. Whatever had brought me into this space must have a way in and a purpose for being here. If I could find an exit, I could leave; the problem was that I also needed to find Jack. 0

I wasn’t too disheartened because the AK-47 still hung around my neck. I adjusted my backpack straps and felt incredulous—besides Jack, I hadn’t lost anything else. 0

The light from the One-Eyed Beast Flashlight slowly spread out in front of me, and soon enough, I spotted an opening not far away. The flashlight illuminated that opening without any light reflecting back at me, reminding me of the Giant Bat Cave. 0

Aside from that opening, there were no other entrances or exits in this space—not even a place to hide. 0

I stood there, under the light of the One-Eyed Beast Flashlight, observing the space inch by inch. I maintained my stance, not daring to step outside; I had no idea what lay within this space or what strange phenomena might occur. So, I hoped to remain in my current state until I fully understood this environment. 0

Finally, I directed the flashlight toward the dark opening. It should be the only entrance through which I had come, regardless of how I got here. 0

The archway was the only part of this space that showed signs of human alteration. However, it was very dark; even with the One-Eyed Beast Flashlight shining directly on it, I could barely make out its outline. 0

I spat out a mouthful of green saliva; it seemed those foods were still affecting me. I was now convinced that my deep sleep and sudden arrival in this space were not mere coincidences—those glowing green foods had at least some hypnotic effect. 0

I shoved the One-Eyed Beast Flashlight into my mouth and, using its light, saw that my hands were green. My sleeves and the front of my shirt were also covered in green, but there was no longer any glow; it seemed the luminescence had faded, indicating that those green foods had a decay phenomenon. 0

I checked my AK-47 rifle; the bullets had long been chambered. 0

Facing the dark opening, I raised my AK-47 and muttered quietly, "I'm coming." 0
