Damn it! This time, the two main leaders of the Expedition Team died one after another. 0

Logically, this Expedition Team was primarily composed of experts from the Academy, and even Cao Mingzhe was sent by the Academy to lead the team. However, his close ties with the military allowed him to gain their recognition. 0

The personnel truly belonging to the military were a few soldiers led by Liu Squad Leader. Their mission was to ensure the safety of the expedition members, so it was unrealistic to expect a new leader to emerge from them, and it would be difficult to gain the acceptance of anyone in the Expedition Team besides the soldiers. 0

But to casually place the captain's hat on my head was even more absurd. In the eyes of the military, especially One Commander, I was a person who deserved severe punishment, someone he wanted to eliminate at any moment. 0

"Alright, I understand. We will accelerate our advance." I called out to the soldier as he turned to leave. "There's one more thing: I'm not the captain." 0

The soldier frowned. "Then who is the captain?" 0

"Unfortunately, the captain is dead. Until a new one is appointed, we have no captain." 0

The soldier looked at me in confusion before turning and running off. 0

"You all heard that, right?" I said to the stretcher team and Jack who were following behind me. "We need to pick up the pace. If you don't want to be caught by mosquitoes, keep up with me. Don't let anything catch up, including Liu Squad Leader." 0

I had been walking at a relatively fast pace earlier, not running because I was worried about whether the stretcher team and Jack could keep up. But now it seemed that walking wasn't enough to shake off the threat behind us; we needed to speed up. 0

This Metal Passage wasn't closed off; I meant that there was at least one exit at its other end because I felt air circulating as soon as I entered this passage. 0

I didn't know where the other end of the Metal Passage led, but I could deduce that it would bring us closer to the truth of this whole situation. It might not necessarily be Eternal Gate, but there had to be some truth regarding this Metal Passage—its purpose. 0

As I started running, I realized that this Metal Passage wasn't straight. Running in the middle of it, despite my swinging arms causing my One-Eyed Beast Flashlight to sway quite a bit, I could still see clearly ahead and into the distance of the passage. 0

In my eyes, the passage remained straight, yet as I ran, I found myself unintentionally veering towards the left side of it. The faster I ran, the more pronounced this feeling became. It felt as if I was running on a straight path but being pulled by centrifugal force. 0

There were many things in this damned place that I couldn't understand. I wasn't trying to comprehend everything; however, I needed to figure out what was going on! Specifically, I needed to understand how this phenomenon occurred and at least grasp what consequences it might bring. 0

Not understanding this could potentially cause significant trouble later on. 0

"San Er, maintain this speed. Don't let those behind fall behind; I'll go ahead and take a look." 0

"Brother Qiang, don't leave us behind!" 0

I spat on the ground in frustration and cursed, "Am I that kind of person?" 0

"Well... alright." A San said as he took out a One-Eyed Beast Flashlight from his bag. 0

I noticed it was the same as mine, likely given to him by Fatty. But Fatty hadn't provided him with any weapons. It seemed that Fatty didn't fully trust him either. 0

I instructed A San to follow me but kept him away from any tasks involving fending off Mosquitoes or carrying the injured. I wanted him to have the energy to constantly pay attention to and listen for updates from Fatty's group. 0

Once we entered the Metal Passage, A San's hearing was significantly impaired. Additionally, the chaos surrounding Fatty's group made it difficult for him to catch specific conversations. He could only vaguely hear that they were still alive. 0

That wasn't enough. I tried to establish contact with the other group to inform Fatty of our situation. I needed to set a deadline; if we couldn't make contact by then, that would be the time for Fatty to detonate the Antimatter Bomb. 0

However, during this time, Fatty's group remained in a state of intense combat. All I could do was wait, hoping they would still be alive when the fighting ended. 0

I picked up my pace and began running forward. 0

To achieve a longer-lasting experimental effect, I didn't sprint at full speed. Going too fast would affect my stamina; my strength lay in endurance. 0

As I ran quickly, the centrifugal force became increasingly apparent on the straight path. It felt less like I was running in a straight corridor and more like I was on a circular track, needing to lean slightly inward to maintain balance and stay on course. 0

Inside, I was crumbling. I didn't care whether this aligned with normal physical principles; what mattered was that I couldn't comprehend this phenomenon or what significance this design held for the builders of this passage. 0

I couldn't grasp the purpose of this corridor, but one thing was certain: it wasn't meant for pedestrian use. 0

I lost control of my speed. As I ran faster, it felt as if I were a gazelle seeking the thrill of speed; I recklessly dashed along the centerline of the passage, feeling my body involuntarily tilt to the right. 0

I couldn't see myself, but I could see the corridor. I sensed my body leaning at nearly a forty-five-degree angle. In a straight and level passage, I was sprinting at an angle like a gust of wind. Just thinking about it sent chills down my spine. 0

It must have been my mind breaking down. The strong friction of my hard-soled military boots allowed me to maintain balance even at such an extreme angle. 0

But in that moment of mental collapse, my body lost control instantly. Under immense centrifugal force, my speeding body was flung against one side of the Metal Passage. 0

'Bang!' 0

Like a puppet thrown off a carousel, I crashed heavily against the left wall of the Metal Passage. 0

A brief dizziness ensued. I couldn't tell if I'd knocked my head or if it was just disorientation. I could no longer ascertain whether I was walking in a straight corridor. 0

The One-Eyed Beast Flashlight remained resilient as ever, bouncing farther than my body did and rolling several times on the ground before coming to rest, its light illuminating one side of the passage. 0

I leaned against the cold Metal Tunnel Wall, feeling a sense of falling into darkness. The One-Eyed Beast Flashlight and the flashlight behind me illuminated the oxidized Cave Wall, but its reflective ability was weak. 0

My heart was the one falling into the abyss, overwhelmed by an unprecedented sense of helplessness and despair. 0

Suddenly, I realized that something even more terrifying might be waiting for me at the other end of the passage. Understanding the truth of this tunnel would likely come at a great cost. 0

No matter how hard I fell, it could never compare to the wounds within my heart. I let the Breeze from deep within the Metal Passage sweep across my face; it carried a slightly irritating scent. 0

I had sensed something upon entering this passage, but at the entrance, the air was only mildly irritating. Here, however, the irritation was noticeably stronger. 0

Yet, this did not capture my attention; it wasn't that I deliberately or unintentionally ignored it, but rather that something else drew my focus even more. 0

On the Metal Tunnel Wall illuminated by the One-Eyed Beast Flashlight, at the intersection of light and darkness, there was a door. 0
