Raymond's eyes narrowed slightly. Although his body had transformed, there was still a glimmer of lingering pain and confusion in his gaze. His voice was hoarse and chaotic, echoing like a sound from the abyss. 0

"Jonas... why are you pointing a gun at me?" Raymond laughed maniacally, his eyes flickering as if questioning the reason behind it all. His tone became unstable, filled with both resentment and bewilderment. "We are brothers! How could you do this to me?" 0

Hearing those words, Jonas felt a sharp pain in his heart. The Raymond he once knew was his most trusted partner on the battlefield, the brother who fought alongside him through countless crises. Yet now, the monster before him retained just a hint of humanity but was completely oblivious to everything he had done. Jonas's gun trembled involuntarily in his hand, his anger and sorrow intertwining. 0

"Raymond," Jonas gritted his teeth, suppressing the turmoil within him and forcing himself to remain calm, though his tone carried a hint of anger. "Look around! Look at what you've done!" He gestured forcefully at the corpses scattered across the ground, his throat emitting a hoarse question. "These dead people... Allison, Samuel, the mercenaries—who killed them?" 0

Raymond scanned the area in confusion. Faced with the bloodied remains, his gaze remained perplexed. He looked at the fallen Allison, her face shattered beyond recognition, then at Samuel's horrific mutated corpse, yet there was no evident emotional reaction on his face. It was as if all of this had nothing to do with him. His maniacal laughter echoed in the cramped space, growing increasingly bizarre. 0

"What... Jonas, what are you talking about?" Raymond murmured softly, a low voice escaping his throat as madness flickered in his chaotic eyes. "They... they were infected! I was just... cleaning them up... You don't understand; I am the savior here!" 0

Those words pierced Jonas's heart completely. He took a deep breath and aimed his gun at Raymond, struggling against the pain and conflict within him. 0

"Raymond!" Jonas shouted angrily, filled with grief and rage as he steadied his aim at him. "You have no idea what you've done! You've become a monster! Look at yourself—you are no longer the Raymond I knew!" 0

Raymond's gaze flickered as the filthy bone-like tendrils within his chest quivered gently like dry leaves in the wind. He continued to look at Jonas in confusion before glancing down at his hands; those strange mutations had covered his entire body. 0

He froze for a moment before bursting into manic laughter, filled with madness and helplessness. "Mutated? Jonas, I saved them! I saved this place! They were all infected... only I can be immune; only I can end this... you shouldn't treat me like this..." 0

Jonas's fury surged uncontrollably as he shouted desperately, "Wake up! You have no idea that you've lost control! Those people were killed by your own hands, Raymond! Every single corpse is your fault!" 0

Raymond's expression gradually turned cold as he seemed to chew over those words. He still couldn't accept what he had become, but that faint sense of reason was ultimately suppressed by Worm's chaotic will. He let out a low growl as the tendrils on his chest slowly extended, his entire body poised to attack at any moment. 0

Raymond's head twisted at an unnatural angle, the muscles in his neck seemingly out of control, accompanied by a series of piercing cackles. His laughter was sharp and hollow, sending chills down the spine. Those bloodshot eyes flickered with a mad light in the darkness. 0

"Jonas... don't you understand?" Raymond's voice sounded as if it came from the depths of hell, carrying an indescribable malevolence. "I watched them one by one get infected by Worm. I saw their bodies contort and twist, turning into monsters... They tried to kill me! They are all enemies! I... I had no choice!" 0

Raymond's words were filled with a frenzied justification, a twisted smile curling at the corners of his mouth. He looked like a puppet being controlled rather than a person with clear consciousness. That smile was distorted, inhuman, like a hunter's satisfaction as prey fell into a trap. 0

"You think this is just an out-of-control experiment? Wrong... Jonas, you couldn't be more mistaken!" Raymond's voice grew deeper and hoarser, mixed with an uncontrollable ecstasy. "In my struggle against them, I received the will of the Black Rope Deity! You don't understand; I saw the divine revelation, I know all the truths!" 0

His hands flailed wildly, and the tendrils on his chest writhed restlessly, as if responding to the fervent faith in his words. The filthy bone-like tendrils stretched outward with each of his utterances, as if this conversation itself was a mysterious ritual. 0

"This is not an experiment... it's not that simple. Everything here, these deaths, these mutations, are for a greater purpose!" Raymond's gaze burned with fervor as he looked at Jonas, as if trying to convince him to believe it all, wanting to inject that madness into his heart. "This is a ritual! Sacrifice, purification—we... are merely part of it. The deity has chosen us!" 0

His voice rose higher and more impassioned, as if the more he spoke, the more he could believe in the "truth" he proclaimed. The madness in his eyes was no longer concealed; it had completely taken over him. He stepped closer to Jonas, his movements heavy and oppressive, emitting a low growl from his throat. 0

"Jonas, I have received enlightenment... The Black Rope Deity has granted me supreme power! I now possess true freedom; you should accept this glory too! Everything is part of the deity's plan... our suffering, death, rebirth—all to fulfill the will of the deity!" 0

Jonas gripped his gun tightly, cold sweat beading on his forehead. He could hardly believe this deranged "friend" before him—this person whose mind had been consumed by Worm and who had completely succumbed to madness—was still trying to persuade him with this twisted "revelation." 0

"Raymond... you are no longer yourself." Jonas whispered, feeling the weight of the gun grow heavier in his hands as waves of anger and pressure surged within him. Looking at this brother who had once fought alongside him through countless life-and-death situations filled him with deep anguish. 0

Yet Raymond did not hear him at all; he cackled madly, his eyes gleaming with an eerie light as he continued to murmur about the rituals and revelations of the Black Rope Deity. 0

Jonas held his rifle firmly, its barrel steadily aimed at Raymond. Even though his finger rested lightly on the trigger, his heart was still filled with struggle and hesitation. Memories flooded back—of that comrade who had faced countless dangers with him, who had never wavered in faith regardless of the challenges faced. Jonas was unwilling to believe that this person before him had completely changed or been consumed by madness. 0

He took a deep breath, his voice low and trembling. "Raymond, I know you're still in there. I know you haven't completely disappeared." He tried to steady his emotions, but the pain within him was hard to hide. "You don't have to walk down this wrong path. Don't let these Worms control you any longer. Please, brother, wake up!" 0

Raymond's face still bore that strange smile, his eyes filled with disdain and rage. His gaze was locked onto Jonas's face, seemingly unable to comprehend why Jonas was pointing a gun at him. Those crimson eyes were brimming with uncontrollable fury. 0

"How could you do this to me?" Raymond's voice was deep and hoarse, like a roar squeezed from the depths of his throat. "Jonas, don't you trust me? We've weathered so many storms together, and you dare point that at me?!" 0

His chest twisted restlessly, seeming to grow more active with the fluctuations of his emotions, as if a painful surge of madness was spreading within him. Raymond's contorted facial muscles twitched in anger, the corners of his mouth curling into an extremely unnatural smile. His laughter gradually turned sharp and piercing, filled with frenzied rage. 0

"You dare insult me!" Raymond roared, his voice thick with resentment as his body began to tremble violently. "You traitor! You still talk about trusting me?! You understand nothing! You know nothing! How dare you question the grace bestowed upon me by the Black Rope Deity?" 0

Raymond's tone grew increasingly intense, anger flooding from his chest like an uncontrollable tide. His breathing became heavy, as if he could no longer suppress the chaotic emotions raging within him. His eyes were crimson, filled with madness and hatred, completely lost in an indescribable chaos. 0

Jonas sensed that the situation had spiraled out of control, but he refused to give up. Gritting his teeth, he spoke with desperate pleading in his voice. "Raymond, please! I believe you're still in there! You can break their control; you can come back, brother! It's not too late for any of this!" 0

But Raymond seemed utterly enraged by Jonas's words; his eyes were filled with murderous intent and hatred, his entire body appearing ready to be torn apart by fury. He let out a low growl like a mad beast, stepping forward uncontrollably while completely ignoring Jonas's warnings. 0

"Come back? You're still talking about coming back?" Raymond bellowed angrily, wildly waving his arms as the tendrils on his chest thrashed like whips. "You will never understand, Jonas! You know nothing! You stand here pointing fingers at me without realizing—I am the one who has received the oracle! I am the one destined to save it all!" 0

His voice echoed through the dark cave, carrying an undeniable arrogance and madness. Raymond had completely lost his sanity; his eyes were filled with uncontainable violence, utterly incapable of responding to Jonas's pleas. He resembled a monster fully consumed by darkness, left only with an insatiable desire for destruction. 0
