Yu Hanzhang pampered her.
After four years of marriage, Xuan Qingya finally realized this point. No matter how much Yu Lingling nitpicked, he always stood by her side.
She sat in the car, waiting for time to slip away, slowly recalling the cruelty she had shown over the years and his kindness.
Xuan Qingya's gaze was somewhat vacant as she fell into deep thought.
If it weren't for the driver's reminder, she might have forgotten the time altogether.
When kindergarten let out, Xuan Qingya got out of the car to pick up her child. The teacher looked at her in surprise and said, “Wasn't Pingping picked up by your cousin?”
A buzzing sound filled Xuan Qingya's head, and her body trembled slightly. What cousin? She hurriedly asked, “What did the person who took Pingping look like?”
The teacher struggled to recall, describing it vaguely. Just then, Xuan Qingya's phone rang. She answered it in a panic, saying, “Hanzhang, Pingping is missing…”
“The child is with me.” The voice on the other end was cold, laced with a hint of mockery. “I am not Yu Hanzhang.”
It was Zhu Hao.
Xuan Qingya quickly asked, “Why did you take the child?”
“If you want the child back, come to me immediately. I only want to see you.” Zhu Hao gave an address and hung up.
Leaving the teacher behind, Xuan Qingya hurriedly urged the driver to get out of the car. Trembling, she gripped the steering wheel tightly, her fingers shaking as she pressed down on the accelerator and sped away. She would not let anything happen to Pingping. She didn't want Zhu Hao to disrupt her life any longer!
Her phone rang again. Without thinking twice, she answered it. Yu Hanzhang's worried voice came through, asking, “Qingya, Old Li said you drove off. What happened?”
“I'm sorry…” Xuan Qingya's voice trembled as she fought back tears and hurriedly said, “I will bring Pingping back.”
“Qingya……”
Before he could say anything else, Xuan Qingya hung up the phone.
I'm sorry, that was all she could say.
If it weren't for her, Pingping wouldn't have had an accident.
If it weren't for her, he wouldn't have to endure such disturbances repeatedly.
He treated her so well, yet she only brought him trouble. But this time, she wouldn't hesitate any longer; the tenderness he offered was too beautiful. She wanted to repay him, even if it meant dedicating her entire life.
If she could, she wanted to continue being his wife and enjoy his affection.
Zhu Hao borrowed an abandoned villa from a friend and fed the child a little to soothe her to sleep.
Xuan Qingya arrived at the address Zhu Hao mentioned and hurriedly jumped out of the car, rushing into the villa. Zhu Hao was softly humming a lullaby while Pingping slept peacefully.
“You…” Xuan Qingya dared not speak, slowly approaching with light footsteps.
“She just fell asleep,” Zhu Hao said calmly. “If I hadn't left, would she have been called Zhu Ping?”
Knowing what he was thinking, Xuan Qingya sighed. “But she’s not your daughter.”
The man she married was Yu Hanzhang, and her child was named Yu Ping. These were unchangeable facts.
Zhu Hao looked up, and only then did Xuan Qingya notice his pale face and dazed expression. A jolt of guilt surged within her.
He threw a check down in front of her and said, “Yu Hanzhang told me you want me to leave, that you don’t want to see me. He said you don’t love me anymore… but I don’t believe it.”
He had loved her for so long, enduring five years of longing for their shared dreams. How could he accept seeing her betrayal upon his return?
Zhu Hao leaned closer to her, urgency in his voice as he asked, “Aya, tell me, all of that was a lie, right? How could you possibly fall for a man who bought you with money?”
“Zhu Hao, I have fallen for him.”
If it weren't for him, their family would never have survived the crisis. If it weren't for him, she couldn't imagine how her life would have been over the past five years.
He had forcefully married her and showered her with tenderness and love, giving her hope.
“He is someone who is easy to love.” If it weren't for her obsession with Zhu Hao's abandonment, she wouldn't have taken so long to see the truth.
“What do I count for then?” Zhu Hao shouted defiantly, his bloodshot eyes fixed on her. “I traveled the world for your dreams, and this is how you repay me when I return?”
Thinking back to the abandonment five years ago, Xuan Qingya found it laughable. “You made that decision on your own; why should I wait for you?”
He had promised to come to her home to propose and to convince her parents. Even if it meant eloping, they would be together.
But she had waited in vain; he seemed to have vanished into thin air, leaving only a letter behind.
He had said, “Aya, I will come back with our dreams and marry you.”
Their dreams? Traveling the world as a free-spirited photographer? That was his dream.
Her dream was simply to marry him and be his bride.
It was he himself who had ruthlessly destroyed her dreams.
Xuan Qingya was too exhausted to argue. She gently picked up Pingping and walked outside. "I won't hold it against you for taking Pingping away, but if it happens again, I can't guarantee what Hanzhang will do."
Zhu Hao stared blankly at her resolute figure, deeply understanding that once she left, she would never belong to him again. The girl he cherished so much was about to fall into someone else's arms!
He wouldn't allow it!
Zhu Hao rushed towards her, grabbing her tightly by the arms. "Aya, I love you! I truly love you!"
He seemed to have lost his mind, desperately trying to prove his love.
Xuan Qingya was pushed down to the ground, struggling and flailing her arms, but she couldn't break free from his grip.
He appeared to have lost all reason as he forcefully tore at her clothes.
"Zhu Hao..." She had loved him once, but now she had changed her heart and fallen for someone else.
Hot tears streamed down her cheeks, falling onto the ground.
As her consciousness began to fade, she heard Pingping's cries growing louder. She wanted to go over and hold her, but she no longer had the strength.
Perhaps because of the child, Zhu Hao carried her into the bedroom. This had once been her and Hanzhang's love nest, but now...
