Rao Jie felt a sudden lump in her throat after hearing Wu Rong's words, but she finally let out a sigh of relief. She was somewhat restless and began to reflect on the issues Wu Rong had raised. It was indeed strange how much she cared about Wu Rong's opinion of Chang Fei. Even though Wu Rong's disdain for her was obvious, she still found herself asking questions. Wasn't that a bit odd?
As she pondered this, she made her way down the steps towards the hot spring, but the steps were slippery and required caution. With her mind wandering, her footing became unsteady, and before she knew it, she miscalculated a step and ended up teetering on the edge.
"Ah!" By the time she realized what was happening, Rao Jie was already losing her balance and about to fall into the pool.
Wu Rong had just moved closer to the pool while speaking, and seeing Rao Jie about to fall—even though it would be safe if she landed in the water—he couldn't help but rush forward to grab her arm, pulling her into his embrace.
The material of her swimsuit felt distinctly different from regular clothing; its smooth texture made Wu Rong's skin tingle at the contact. The swimsuit clung tightly to Rao Jie’s body, making it feel as if she were not wearing anything at all, stirring his thoughts in an uncontrollable direction.
So when Rao Jie finally steadied herself, Wu Rong found himself holding her even tighter without realizing it. The softness of Rao Jie pressed against him, igniting sensations he had not anticipated.
Suddenly, Wu Rong realized that being with Rao Jie was awakening a more primal side of him. He had held onto her for far too long—not merely to support her. Rao Jie sensed the awkwardness and discomfort; once she regained her balance, she quickly pushed him away. "I'm fine! I can stand on my own; let go! Are you going to let me enjoy the hot spring or not?"
Her face flushed with embarrassment as she dared not look at Wu Rong.
But Wu Rong felt exhilarated; he released Rao Jie and stood at the edge of the pool, beginning to undress right in front of her.
Rao Jie was taken aback by his sudden action. His gaze locked onto hers with an elegant calmness, as if he were performing a show, shedding his outer garments one by one until his enticing physique was gradually revealed.
When his hands reached the waistband of his underwear, Rao Jie finally processed what she was witnessing. Even though there was only a thin layer separating them, the realization sent shockwaves through her mind, nearly overwhelming her.
Quickly turning away, she dashed down into the pool with her back to Wu Rong. "What... what are you doing? Didn't you say you wouldn't mess with me? Don't take off your clothes! If you keep this up, I'm going to get angry!"
Whether it was just her imagination or not, it felt like there was a hint of amusement in Wu Rong's voice as he replied, "I saw you naked; naturally, I should let you see me too!"
"I... I didn't let you see anything! Stop talking nonsense!" Rao Jie felt both angry and embarrassed; she wished she could run away right then and there. But with Wu Rong almost undressed standing above her, how could she dare turn back?
"Okay, I was just teasing you. I only want to enjoy the hot spring; I can't very well soak in my clothes."
Rao Jie: "...Who just said they weren't interested? Are you a ghost?!"
"What’s the matter? Would you rather go outside and soak in a hot spring with a bunch of men than stay here and soak with me alone?"
Rao Jie: "...Can you really compare it like that? This man is truly unreasonable!"
