Osiris is thoroughly enraged.
His finger rested on the trigger, the gun pressed against Elena with a little force, causing her head to tilt slightly.
"I came here today to discuss serious matters. If you're just here to mock Amanda, then consider me never having come. But right now, you must apologize to Amanda."
Elena's head tilted again, but she didn't care at all.
For three years, whenever Amanda appeared, she became the one who was abandoned, and she had long been used to it.
Now that Osiris is so angry just for saying a few harsh words, Elena finds it rather uninteresting.
She smirked, smiled lightly, and there was not a trace of fear in her eyes. Even if the other party were to pull the trigger, she would completely disappear from this world. But Elena was not worried or afraid. She was even very clear that Osiris wouldn't really pull the trigger, even if he was furious. Because in her hand, she still held the method to save Amanda.
"What if I say no?"
Elena is not a helpless little lamb. She moves swiftly and gracefully, the gun now pointing from temples to her own forehead.
A flicker of panic crosses Osiris's eyes, but the emotion is gone before even he can grasp it.
"What are you doing! Do you want to die by my hands?!"
"Die by your hands?"
Elena laughed until tears came out, "If I die, it will be on my terms."
She suddenly unbuttoned the windbreaker, then pulled it to one side, revealing a device the size of a ring box stuck to the inside of the windbreaker, with the digital time slowly increasing.
"You have the guts to shoot me right now."
Elena took a step forward, her head against the gun, her clear gray eyes staring at Osiris who was close by.
But at this moment, Osiris's mind went blank. He looked bewildered at the bomb hidden in Elena's clothes. It was a style not commonly seen on the market, and just the markings on it indicated that its power was definitely not low. If Elena really detonated it, the entire private club might collapse.
"It's ruthless enough," he murmured, looking at Elena with an increasingly unfamiliar gaze.
"If I'm not ruthless, how can I do business with you?"
Elena waited until Osiris put the gun on the table, showing her that he was no longer hiding any weapons, before she put her clothes back on.
She's not here today just to catch up.
"Now, let's talk business."
In fact, the decor of the rooms in this private club exceeded Elena's expectations.
She just wanted to find a club that could cater to Osiris, but ended up getting caught in the crossfire herself. She sat down on the deep red sofa and pulled out a contract from her bag. "What do you mean?" Osiris frowned, not responding.
"I said I wanted to do business with you. You want to save Amanda, and of course, I have my conditions." Elena shook the contract in her hand. Osiris remained silent for a few seconds before taking it, but he looked at Elena strangely after glancing at it.
"You're asking for too much, aren't you?"
Elena, however, remained unfazed. "Does Amanda's leg really have no value at all?"
"Besides you, I can find another way. There's not just one skilled doctor like Jason Parry," retorted Osiris.
Elena's reaction always makes him feel uneasy. Instead of being led by her, he'd rather switch to a more controllable target. Osiris is used to being in a dominant position, and suddenly being led by the submissive Elena is a blow he can't accept. "You can try, but I've heard that you've exhausted all the options you can find."
Elena said slowly, she was very clear that if Osiris could really give up on Jason Parry, he wouldn't stay here and talk to himself.
"Jason Parry is your only choice at the moment, and also Amanda's hope. Do you really want to give up?" Elena propped her chin, tilted her head to look at him, with an innocent expression as if saying something unimportant.
"Elena, don't be so pushy."
Osiris After a few deep breaths, he said in a cold voice, "Do you need to look at the contract again?" Elena ignored him, just smiled and pointed to the contract in his hand. The silence in the room expanded infinitely.
Elena even took out her phone and sent a text out of boredom before hearing Osiris's deep voice. "The land in Panama has already been planned for a resort, and it will be put up for bidding today. I can't give it to you directly." Osiris interlocked his fingers, "But I can offer you another resort, the Bafay Resort—"
"I just want that piece of land, the vacation area plan has already been made? I don't care, but if you don't give it to me, then today's matter is not up for discussion."
Elena shrugged, she doesn't care what Osiris has to risk, she just wants her part.
"The land that has already been bid on can't even be interfered with by my identity, but I can add you to the list of participants in the bidding."
Osiris changed his mind, "I will try to narrow down the candidates to two, but then it will be up to each person's abilities."
Participating in the bidding requires a large amount of funds.
Osiris is quite clear that with only the money he left for Elena, she cannot even meet the minimum bidding standard.
What's more, after the grand spectacle she put on before, there should be little money left in her wallet. In Osiris's view, Elena's demand for a share of the bid is an extremely foolish thing to do. "Who is my opponent?" Elena pondered for a while and asked.
"I have already made the biggest concession, I won't tell you more." Osiris frowned.
Elena nodded, "Okay, sign it then."
"Are you sure?" Osiris paused with the pen in hand before looking up at Elena. Out of consideration for their past relationship, he didn't want to embarrass her too much.
"Of course."
Elena glanced at him strangely, neatly stuffed the signed documents back into the folder.
...
The bidding day is set to be held in three days.
Just as Osiris promised, Elena was not harassed and advanced directly to the final battlefield. In the final showdown, she faced off against Jaden from CR Group. In a completely unsurprising match, everyone thought Jaden would definitely win.
But when Elena lightly used price wars to outbid Jaden three times, she successfully secured the contract for the vacation area's land by offering an additional one million in price.
"Aren't you going to congratulate me?"
Coming out of the meeting room, Elena casually looked at Jaden who was blocking the door, hesitating to speak to her.
During the time she was married to Osiris, this friend of Osiris was not particularly friendly towards her, but also not as indifferent as others. So Elena still had a decent impression of Jaden. When she suddenly asked him, Jaden pursed his lips and said, "Congratulations."
He reluctantly reached out his hand. Losing to Elena made him feel especially embarrassed. But Elena just looked at him for a moment, with no intention of shaking hands.
"Thanks." She coldly bypassed Jaden, "I thought the bidders brought in by N.E Group would be of high caliber, but now it seems not so much."
As she spoke, there was a hint of a smile in her voice.
Jaden's face immediately turned red.
Angry.
"Elena! When did you become so sharp-tongued?!"
Jaden was hopping mad, but Elena had already walked several steps away. Jaden wanted to catch up, but as soon as he took a step, he was silently warned by the bodyguard following closely behind Elena.
The other party are all strong and burly men, any one of them could easily crush and flatten Jaden with a few moves.
"Aussie, your ex-wife is too fierce!"
Jaden suffered a setback from Elena and sullenly occupied Osiris's office.
A handsome face with a childish and frustrated expression, quite comical.
He was mocked by a woman and couldn't even come up with a retort, which was really embarrassing.
He called out "Osiris" a few times, but there was no answer. The other person just stared at the price list on the table, with eyes almost shooting out fire.
His terrifying appearance made Jaden lower his voice unconsciously.
"Where did she get so much money? That's Five hundred million."
