I have a poor tolerance for alcohol, and my behavior when drunk is even worse. It's always been that way.
I first met Li Zexuan after breaking up with my ex-boyfriend, feeling down and getting drunk to drown my sorrows. He was working part-time at the bar, and in a moment of reckless boldness, I reached out and touched his face, saying, "Hey handsome, give me a kiss, and I'll buy a round of drinks from you."
He looked at me with a cold gaze, saying nothing. I sensed the contempt hidden in his eyes, and anger flared within me. I threw down a card and challenged him, "Not interested? Or are you afraid I won't pay?"
Later on, he really needed money and ended up selling himself to me for fifty thousand. Our marriage began in the most humiliating way for Li Zexuan. How could he possibly like me?
The next morning, I woke up in bed. On the sofa lay a neatly folded blanket; Li Zexuan must have slept there last night. I hugged the blanket for a while, lost in thought, before messaging my lawyer: "Draft the divorce agreement."
Today's plan was semi-free; we were going to have a barbecue by the beach. While setting up the grill, Li Zexuan asked me, "Are you still feeling dizzy?" I looked at him and slowly shook my head.
"Why don't you rest? I'll cook something for you," he said as he busied himself at the grill. Feng Qi walked over to chat with him. I couldn't hear what they were saying, but suddenly he laughed brightly.
In my past self, I would have rushed over to intervene immediately. But this time, I decided against it. I lowered my gaze and replied to Xiao Zhi's message.
"He really doesn't like me."
I sat under the sunshade, biting into a chicken wing when I noticed Yuning walking over unexpectedly.
She turned her back to the camera and whispered in a tone too low to be recorded, "Feng Qi went back to the villa with Li Zexuan."
I was taken aback.
The beach where the barbecue was held wasn't far from the villa; it would take me no more than ten minutes to walk back.
As soon as I entered the courtyard, I spotted Li Zexuan and Feng Qi standing face to face in a pavilion partially hidden by flowers.
I couldn't hear what they were saying, but suddenly, I noticed Feng Qi's eyes were red.
I walked over slowly and caught her voice just in time.
"So, what do I have to wait for before you will divorce her?"

My mind went blank in an instant.
After a while, I finally heard Li Zexuan's cold voice.
"I won't get a divorce."
Feng Qi smiled slightly. "Actually, I know she pressured you into signing that Prenuptial Agreement. It's fine; those oppressive clauses aren't even legal. Even if she took it to court, you'd still be in the right."
"That's not the reason."
"Then what is it?"
Li Zexuan looked at her, his voice growing colder. "My family matters are none of your business."
Feng Qi immediately burst into tears.
"Why? Senior, I clearly knew you before she did and confessed my feelings to you first."
"I worked so hard to finally be in the same circle as you, standing on equal ground. Next month at the Jinxiu Award ceremony, I'll be the youngest Best Actress."
"Lin Yue is just a third-rate internet celebrity with no connections; she'll only drag you down. Do you know how many fans you've lost because of her?"
Li Zexuan lost his patience and turned to leave.
As he stepped out of the pavilion, our eyes met from behind the bushes where I stood.
I still held half a skewer of uneaten chicken wings in my hand.
"..."
After the brief embarrassment of being caught eavesdropping, I felt an overwhelming sense of shame.
So, holding a chicken wing, I turned and ran.
As soon as I entered the room, Li Zexuan chased after me.
"Yueyue."
I looked at him and said, "Actually, you don't have to feel so awkward."
"I'm not awkward."
"If you like Feng Qi, just go ahead and tell her."
"I don't like Feng Qi."
"Anyway, you'll be free soon."
As soon as the words left my mouth, Li Zexuan froze.
"What does that mean?"
Just then, the lawyer called.
I pressed the speakerphone button, and his voice came through:
"Miss Lin, I've drafted the divorce agreement you requested and sent it to your email. However, that Prenuptial Agreement is not legally binding, so the division of assets may not go smoothly."
"Okay."
After hanging up, the atmosphere became painfully still.
After a long pause, Li Zexuan spoke with a hint of bitterness in his voice: "You want to divorce me?"
I nodded.
"Why? Did I not do enough?"
He stared at me blankly, and for a moment, I felt that his expression was genuinely sad.
"Or is it because he has returned?"
