Rao Jie felt an increasing restlessness within her. Her mind was filled with various fantasies that stimulated her heart, as if she were balancing on a tightrope, ready to fall at any moment. She felt uneasy and anxious, longing to see something that would soothe her.
Unable to suppress her inner impulses any longer, Rao Jie stood up. Just as she was about to leave, Ye Ming suddenly got up and said, "Classmates and teachers, there's fireworks prepared outside! Let's go enjoy them together!"
The crowd erupted in cheers, though they were puzzled about the sudden appearance of fireworks. Ye Ming explained with a grin, "The fireworks weren't prepared by the hotel; they were arranged by your Professor Wu."
The crowd gasped in surprise, still confused. However, Ye Ming didn't elaborate further and led everyone outside.
Rao Jie was even more astonished. How could Wu Rong have prepared fireworks? He wasn't the type to do such things; it seemed more likely that Ye Ming was taking advantage of Wu Rong's name. After all, Ye Ming often did such things.
Nevertheless, Ye Ming's announcement interrupted Rao Jie's previous train of thought, and she followed the crowd outside. Once outside, she heard the cheers of the crowd. The fireworks hadn't even started yet; why were they already shouting?
Unable to resist, Rao Jie stood on her tiptoes to look outside but lost her balance for a moment. In the open space ahead, Wu Rong was slowly walking into the light, coming into view of everyone.
Rao Jie could hardly believe her eyes. She turned back to glance inside the hotel; Wu Rong wasn't there—was he really outside preparing fireworks for everyone?
With a whoosh, a bright light shot up into the sky, followed by a loud bang that exploded into a burst of colors. The crowd gasped in delight, and other guests from the hotel couldn't help but come out to watch.
As the fireworks continued, everyone's attention shifted away. Rao Jie stood at the back of the crowd, staring blankly at the beautiful, dazzling fireworks lighting up the sky.
Just as she was lost in thought, Wu Rong had quietly appeared beside her. They stood at the back of the crowd unnoticed by anyone else.
"Are you satisfied?" he asked.
Startled by his voice, Rao Jie turned to look at him. Wu Rong stood beside her, leaning slightly with a warm smile on his face.
"What?" Rao Jie replied, momentarily dazed.
Wu Rong gazed directly at Rao Jie, his beautiful eyes reflecting the splendor of the fireworks. To Rao Jie, they seemed even more dazzling than the fireworks lighting up the night sky.
"Are you satisfied with my apology?"
Rao Jie snapped back to reality and asked, "Is this how you apologize to me?"
Wu Rong nodded earnestly. "Yes, it's an apology. I really don't want you to be mad at me while being dragged around by Long Yong, trying to build some kind of bond. One afternoon of that is already too much for me. I can't take it anymore. You know my temper; I'm not good at holding things in. It's been hard for me to keep this up. I really wanted to take you away, but I was afraid that would make you even angrier. So I thought of a way to cheer you up. Someone told me that girls love fireworks, so..."
Rao Jie couldn't help but glance at the cheerful Ye Ming ahead, knowing without a doubt who had given that advice.
Most people wouldn't apologize in such an exaggerated manner. It was clear that Ye Ming had tricked Wu Rong into doing this, probably just wanting to add some fun to the event.
Rao Jie felt a bit helpless and, despite Wu Rong's foolishness in this regard, found herself feeling a little sympathetic and even charmed. She knew he was just that kind of childish person; it wasn't surprising for him to pull a stunt like this in the Hot Spring Room. Although she had been angry at first, she gradually grew accustomed to it and became numb to his antics.
