Chu Yun tightly grasped the Sky Thunder Sword as she followed Lan Lao deep into the heart of the Ten Thousand Demon Burial Valley. Along the way, the trees cast swaying shadows, and the moonlight dappled the damp ground. The air was filled with a rich floral scent and an unknown danger.
"Lan Lao, what type of spirit beast is this Shadow Beast?" Chu Yun asked as they walked, her eyes alert and ready to respond to any sudden attacks.
Lan Lao's pace was neither fast nor slow, and his deep voice carried a hint of authority: "Shadow Beast is a nocturnal creature with a strong sense of territory. Its power comes from the night dew and moonlight in the valley, making it very formidable. You must exert all your strength to contend with it."
After passing through a dense black forest, they came upon a wide clearing. In the center of the clearing, a huge beastly shadow lurked, its body covered in thick black fur, and a pair of crimson eyes gleaming fiercely in the night.
"Is this the Shadow Beast?" Chu Feng nervously grabbed Chu Yun's sleeve and asked in a low voice.
Chu Yun gently patted her brother's hand, signaling him to relax. She took a step forward, raised the Sky Thunder Sword in her hand, took a deep breath, and pointed the tip of the sword at the Shadow Beast: "I am Chu Yun, a cultivator. I have no intention of trespassing today, only seeking a way to survive."
Shadow Beast let out a deep roar, apparently paying little attention to Chu Yun's words. It advanced with heavy steps, each one causing the ground to tremble slightly.
"It seems diplomacy won't work." Chu Yun frowned, knowing that conversation was futile, and that the problem could only be solved through battle.
Shadow Beast first launches an attack with astonishing speed, its massive body resembling a black shadow as it instantly pounces towards Chu Yun. Chu Yun swiftly dodges to the side, wielding the Sky Thunder Sword to force it back.
"Sky Thunder Fury!" Chu Yun shouts, gathering thunder and lightning within the sword, releasing a dazzling light that directly strikes Shadow Beast. The collision of lightning and the beast's body produces a deafening roar.
Shadow Beast roared in pain, but did not retreat. Instead, it became even more enraged. Crimson light flashed in its pupils, and black mist churned around it, forming waves of dark energy that surged towards Chu Yun.
"This is its special ability - Shadow Wave!" Lan Lao exclaimed loudly, a hint of worry in his eyes.
Chu Yun gritted her teeth and swung her sword to cut through the approaching black energy wave, the sword tip shining with even brighter lightning. She turned to Chu Feng and said, "Feng, fall back to Captain Li Jian's position, it's dangerous here."
Although worried, Chu Feng still obeyed his sister's words and retreated to the location of Captain Li Jian and the elite soldiers. His eyes were filled with worry and admiration as he watched his sister's brave figure confronting the formidable enemy.
Chu Yun once again faced the Shadow Beast, took a deep breath, and concentrated all her cultivation at the tip of her sword: "Thunder God's Wrath!"
With her shout, the Sky Thunder Sword released a world-shaking thunder and lightning, directly piercing the core of the Shadow Beast. The lightning left a charred mark on the body of the Savage beast, which let out a deafening roar, clearly suffering significant damage.
Shadow Beast Extremely angry, its eyes burning with red fury, suddenly its body begins to swell, and the black mist thickens. It opens its huge mouth and spits out a ball of energy mixed with black mist, "Nether Poison Mist," flying straight towards Chu Yun.
"Be careful, this is one of its ultimate moves, extremely dangerous!" Lan Lao's voice sounded from the side.
Chu Yun instantly activated the last trace of thunder power in the sword, meeting the energy ball of poison mist. Sky Thunder Sword collided with the poison mist, emitting a loud noise that shook the entire area with the explosion of thunder and poison mist.
After the explosion, Chu Yun stood in the midst of the smoke, her clothes unburnt but her complexion slightly pale, her breath somewhat erratic. Sky Thunder Sword still shimmered with a faint light, proving that it still had some power left.
Shadow Beast was injured by the lightning, curled up on the ground, its breathing rapid and heavy. The black mist gradually dispersed, revealing its true massive wounds.
Chu Yun took a step forward, pointing the sword at Shadow Beast, a hint of reluctance in his eyes: "I have no intention of being your enemy, I only seek a way to survive. If you are willing to stop attacking, we can coexist peacefully."
Shadow Beast let out a low growl, seemingly evaluating Chu Yun's words. It slowly stood up, its crimson eyes fixed on Chu Yun, and finally, it slowly lowered its head as a recognition of Chu Yun's strength and a temporary truce.
Chu Yun sheathed his sword and nodded to Lan Lao in gratitude. "Today, the conflict between us ends here. But we will stay here for refuge, hoping for peaceful coexistence with Shadow Beast and other creatures in the future."
Lan Lao walked up to Chu Yun and said to her, "You have shown extraordinary courage and strength, Chu Yun. In this Ten Thousand Demon Burial Valley, this kind of strength will help us earn respect and a place."
Chu Feng ran over from a distance and, seeing his sister unharmed, a relieved smile appeared on his face. He hugged Chu Yun tightly, "Sister, you are really amazing!"
Chu Yun gently patted his little brother's back and smiled, saying, "As long as we're together, nothing can stop us."
Later, Lan Lao led them to a safe place to set up camp. The area was surrounded by huge rocks and dense trees, forming a natural barrier and an ideal resting and sheltering place.
"Here, we can rest for a while. I will teach you how to survive in the outskirts of the Ten Thousand Demon Burial Valley, including how to interact with the local creatures and utilize the resources here." Lan Lao began instructing them on extracting food and medicinal herbs from the valley's plants, as well as how to observe and avoid potential dangers.
Chu Yun and Chu Feng listened attentively, earnestly learning each survival skill. Li Jian and the other soldiers also helped, together establishing a sturdy camp.
Several days later, under the guidance of Lan Lao, Chu Yun and Chu Feng gradually became familiar with the environment of the Ten Thousand Demon Burial Valley.
