"Su Yue!" My mother suddenly shouted for me from the kitchen, her voice tinged with an unusual tone. Instantly, I sensed something was off. The game in my hands lost its appeal, and I rushed toward the kitchen, my heart filled with unease. 0

In the kitchen, my mother's shoulders trembled slightly, and I could hear the faint sound of her sobbing. Panic surged within me. 0

"Mom, what's wrong?" I asked cautiously. She slowly turned around, her eyes red and her face etched with bitterness. Taking a deep breath, she struggled to say, "Su Yue, you need to be prepared... your sister... she has been diagnosed with brain cancer, and it's already in the late stages." 0

Those words struck me like a bolt from the blue. I stood frozen in place, completely stunned by this sudden blow. Her words pierced my heart like needles. 0

"How is that possible?" My voice trembled as I felt the world around me crumble. 0

My mother weakly shook her head, tears streaming down her cheeks. "I don't know either... The doctor said it's already late stage. We need to think of other options quickly; your sister..." 0

I wrapped my arms around my mother and gently patted her back, trying to soothe both her and myself. "This is just too damn shocking. What do we do next? Should we try another hospital?" I thought to myself. 0

Taking a deep breath, I forced myself to calm down. "Mom, don't be afraid. We'll support Sis together." 0

She didn't respond but continued to sob softly. 0

That night, I lay in bed tossing and turning, my sister's always smiling eyes haunting me. Just thinking about how her once bright gaze was now dimmed by pain made my heart ache as if pierced by a thousand arrows. Tears welled up in my eyes; I desperately tried to hold them back, but they fell like beads from a broken string. 0

Speaking of my sister Su Yi, our laughter and tears had always been shared since childhood. I remembered those summers when we chased dragonflies and rolled on the grass together; in winter, we would huddle tightly under the covers, whispering secrets meant only for girls. As we grew older, for reasons unknown, we gradually drifted apart. Yet no matter what happened, in my heart, Su Yi remained that good sister who would stand with me when I made mistakes. 0

Days turned into weeks as my sister's condition plummeted like a roller coaster. The fear of receiving that dreaded phone call loomed over me constantly. The illness had taken a toll on her body; she grew thinner and paler with each passing day. Her temperament changed too; it became frightening at times. There were moments when I wondered if the woman screaming in rage was still the gentle sister I once knew. 0

One heavy-hearted day, I sat by her hospital bed keeping her company. Suddenly, she grasped my hand tightly, surprising me with her strength. 0

"Su Yue," she managed to say with great difficulty, each word seeming to be forced from deep within her throat. "I have one request for you." 0

My heart tightened at her tone, but I maintained a steady voice. "Sis, just tell me. I'll do whatever I can to help you." 0

She took a deep breath as if summoning all her strength: "Su Yue, could you... give Qin Jingyan to me?" 0
