The thick fog seemed to spread endlessly, wrapping us in a pale chaos. Each person's footsteps began to grow heavy, the pace slowing as if we were trapped in an unending nightmare. Just then, a sudden argument shattered the silence of the mountains. 0

“Tian Feng, you can’t keep going like this!” shouted a boy named Zhang Kai, his voice sharp with evident anger and doubt. “This is not the right direction! We should have turned back long ago!” 0

Chen Mu quickly retorted, his tone filled with frustration. “How do you know this isn’t right? We’ve come this far; there’s no turning back!” 0

“Turning back is better than wandering aimlessly!” Zhang Kai had clearly lost his patience, his anger almost boiling over. “Look where we are now! The compass isn’t working, and you still trust him?” 0

As soon as he finished speaking, whispers from the other students grew urgent. Fear and exhaustion intertwined into an invisible pressure that loomed over everyone, as if the cold mist was seeping into their very bones. Even those who hadn’t joined the argument could feel the anxious tension in the air. 0

I abruptly stopped and turned towards the crowd, my gaze cold as steel. “Enough.” My voice was icy, laced with a hint of suppressed anger. “This is a rescue mission, not your personal vacation in the mountains. Everyone needs to calm down.” 0

Zhang Kai glared at me, his lips trembling as if he was about to unleash more accusations. But when he met my steely eyes, he hesitated for a moment before angrily looking away. 0

Chen Mu refused to back down and continued, “I trust Brother Tian; he has rescued so many people before; he won’t be wrong this time.” 0

“Trust?” Zhang Kai scoffed, his voice dripping with sarcasm. 0

"If he is really that reliable, why hasn't he found the way yet? Instead, we're just running around like headless flies!" 0

As soon as these words were spoken, everyone's gaze fell on me. The looks of doubt, dissatisfaction, and even fear made me feel an overwhelming pressure. I clenched my teeth, trying hard to control my inner anxiety. 0

"We are indeed facing difficulties right now, but that doesn't mean we are lost," I said slowly, attempting to calm everyone's emotions. "The communication device has failed and the compass is malfunctioning; these are all due to the natural environment. I need you to trust me; we have a way out." 0

A few students continued to murmur among themselves, their eyes filled with unease and skepticism. Zhang Kai, however, showed no restraint in his anger: 0

"Trust you? But how long have we been wandering here? The sky is getting darker, and if you keep delaying us, we might really not get out!" 0

"Zhang Kai! Calm down!" Chen Mu stepped forward again, but his voice sounded weak and powerless, completely unable to suppress Zhang Kai's fury. 0

"Calm down? It's you guys who aren't thinking clearly!" Zhang Kai waved his hand and almost shouted, "If we keep going like this, we'll all end up dead here!" 0

His words struck like a cold arrow, piercing the most vulnerable parts of everyone's hearts. As soon as he finished speaking, the faces of several students turned pale, and the timid ones even began to tremble. Their gazes darted around as if searching for a way to escape this predicament. 0

Just then, a low cracking sound suddenly came from ahead, like some enormous creature awakening from slumber and twisting its massive body. I abruptly stopped in my tracks, every hair on my body standing on end. 0
