The company's anniversary celebration arrived as scheduled, with a red carpet laid out at the venue, adorned with floral arches, flower columns, and flower displays, while balloons floated in the air.
At ten in the morning, company leaders began to arrive, mingling and chatting with various social elites. Other employees gradually made their way in, finding their designated spots.
" manager Gu hasn't arrived yet; I wonder what he will say this year," one employee remarked.
"Yeah, I heard he rarely shows up at the company. It's quite rare for him to attend the anniversary celebration," another replied.

Amidst the hushed discussions around her, Li Xue listened in surprise. She hadn't realized that Gu Jingchen had such a stellar reputation among the employees.
She looked around and noticed many people sneaking glances toward the entrance, seemingly waiting for something.
"What are they looking at?" Li Xue asked a girl beside her.
The girl glanced at her and explained, "They're waiting for manager Gu."
" manager Gu?" Li Xue asked, puzzled. "Is he that important?"
"Of course!" the girl exclaimed excitedly. "He is the founder of our company and also our chairman. He’s an idol to all of us."
Li Xue was taken aback. She hadn’t expected Gu Jingchen to hold such high esteem within the company.
Just then, she heard a commotion coming from the entrance. Li Xue lifted her head to look.
At the doorway, a group of sharply dressed men walked in. The man at the forefront wore a black suit; he was tall and handsome with deep-set eyes. A faint smile graced his face, exuding an air of calm dignity.
This man was none other than Gu Jingchen. As he entered the venue, he immediately captured everyone's attention.
The employees looked at him with expressions of reverence.
"General Gu, you have arrived," the company leaders greeted him respectfully as they approached.
"Mm," Gu Jingchen nodded lightly, shaking hands with them.
Standing among the crowd, his extraordinary demeanor was hard to ignore.

He smiled and stepped down from the stage.
Next came the general manager's speech, followed by a representative from the employees.
After the speeches concluded, it was time for the award ceremony.
Li Xue and several other hostesses went up on stage to prepare for the awards presentation.
They wore matching long dresses and had exquisite makeup, standing on stage like a beautiful landscape.
Gu Jingchen and other company leaders sat below, watching them.
Li Xue stood at the edge, trying her best to minimize her presence.
As the award ceremony began, the host announced the names of the winners.
The winners took to the stage to receive their certificates of honor from the leaders' hands.
When it was Li Xue's turn, she walked up to a middle-aged man holding an honorary certificate.
"Mr. Li, here is your honorary certificate," she said politely.
"Thank you," Mr. Li replied with a smile, extending his hand to shake hers.
Just then, a hand suddenly reached out from the side and took the honorary certificate away.
Li Xue turned to see Gu Jingchen standing there.
Gu Jingchen held the honorary certificate and looked at Mr. Li, saying casually, "I'll accept the award for you, if you don't mind?"
Mr. Li was taken aback for a moment but quickly responded, "Not at all, not at all."
Gu Jingchen smiled slightly at him, saying, "Thank you."
After that, he turned to look at Li Xue.
Li Xue met his gaze and felt an uneasy premonition rising within her.
Sure enough, Gu Jingchen extended his hand towards her and smiled, "Miss Li, it's nice to see you again."
His eyes held a deep meaning, as if hinting at something.
Li Xue stared back at him, gritting her teeth internally. What scheme was he plotting this time?
Though anger boiled within her, she suppressed it and forced a polite demeanor as she extended her hand to shake his.
"Hello, General Gu."
Gu Jingchen looked at her with a teasing glint in his eyes.
His hand grasped hers firmly and gave it a gentle squeeze.
Li Xue felt the warmth of his touch and her face instantly flushed red.

She glared at him and yanked her hand back forcefully.
Gu Jingchen chuckled softly but didn’t tease her further.
The award ceremony continued as Li Xue returned to her seat, seething with anger as she watched Gu Jingchen.
She resolved to be more cautious in the future; she absolutely could not let Gu Jingchen have his way!
