Osiris helped her up and went to get a crutch. "Why are you so careless? What if you got hurt?" His words revealed obvious concern.
Amanda lowered her eyes, but a slight smile appeared on her lips. "Aussie, don't scold me. I just want to see the outside. I've been in the hospital for too long, and I can't wait another moment to be discharged."
She spoke of her grievances, which made Osiris feel even more distressed. Seeing Amanda struggling to stand even with crutches, he simply put his arm around her waist and lifted her up horizontally.
"Go get the crutches."
He instructed the maid, then quickly pulled a wheelchair out from the corner and carefully placed Amanda in it.
"You just sit here and wait for me. After I finish meeting with the professor, I'll take you home."
Amanda obediently nodded, her gaze softly fixed on Osiris as they left the ward. The gentle atmosphere around them instantly turned cold.
She glanced at the maid, who immediately shuddered, and then she smiled in satisfaction.
"You are not allowed to let Aussie's gaze linger on you for more than three seconds from now on."
"....Yes."
Knowing that today is the day of discharge, Arthur greeted the servants early in the morning to clean the villa.
Wuthering manor hasn't been this lively in a long time. When Osiris carried Amanda out of the car, the butler Arthur immediately hurried to have the wheelchair brought out and prepared. "Miss Amanda, welcome back."
"I'll need your help later, Arthur," Amanda weakly smiled, as gentle and approachable as if it were her natural disposition. "To facilitate your movements, Miss Amanda, we have specially rearranged the guest room on the first floor," Arthur expressed his friendliness, a smile that revealed none of the cold indifference he showed towards Elena.
First floor guest room?
Amanda's mouth twitched.
This is not what she wanted.
But for now, she still has to maintain her considerate image.
"Okay, thank you."
Osiris reminded a few more times, Amanda suddenly saw him turn and walk away, immediately calling out to him.
"Aussie, are you not going to accompany me anymore?"
Her voice was soft, and there seemed to be glistening tears spreading in her eyes.
A pitiful posture of grievance yet trying to hold back.
"I still have some business to take care of. You just got back, Arthur will handle everything. Let him know if you need anything."
Osiris kissed Amanda on the forehead, "Be good, I'll come back to accompany you after I'm done."
Amanda hooked her pinky with his. Seeing that he was really going to leave, she suppressed the anger in her heart and let go of his hand.
"Okay, I'll wait for you at home."
She emphasized the word "home" a little more.
"Elena, you're back." Just as she returned, she saw her mother Camila and her best friend Orly in the living room, looking particularly serious while watching something. When they saw her come home, they excitedly waved at her. "Come over here quickly."
Orly made room for her.
"Wait a moment, I need to go see Mark first," Elena pointed upstairs, but before she could climb the steps, Orly hurried over and pulled her to the sofa.
"You can see Mark anytime, but this is more important."
Just as she sat down, Elena was handed an iPad. She looked at Camila and Orly with suspicion, their expectant expressions were too obvious, and she had a feeling that something wasn't quite right. "Auntie and I spent a few days picking this out. Take a look and see if it suits your taste."
Orly and Camila looked at each other and immediately burst into laughter.
Elena then realized that the iPad was full of photos of different men.
