Elena didn't bother him, she just moved a chair and sat down, hugging the back of the chair with her arms and resting her chin on her arms, watching the bestselling author MK's frantic state.
"Hey, are you just going to watch like that and not help?"
Maxim didn't even lift his head, quickly typing a few words on the computer.
"What can I help with? I'm just a big writer, I can't help." Elena said lazily.
"Don't you want to know about Amanda's recent situation?"
Elena finally got up from the chair listlessly, took a few steps, came to the desk, and looked at Maxim's messy desktop, clicking her tongue.
"You're so messy, yet you can still make so many people fall for you. It's really strange."
"They love my talent, not my cleaning ability."
Maxim stared at the screen, his right hand fumbling on the table, and he found a mug under the scattered papers.
"Give me some coffee, with extra ice. I urgently need a clear mind right now."
Elena naturally took it and looked at the drawing of an ugly fat pig on the mug, laughing, "You still keep this thing."
It's a failed piece she made in her pottery class before.
"Well, you know I'm not picky," Maxim also smiled at her, "Remember? You thought it was ugly at the time, and specifically gave me and Gert the failed product in the name of a gift."
"You little rascal, you've always been mischievous since you were a child."
Talking about their childhood memories, the siblings both showed a bit of nostalgia and a relaxed expression.
Elena It took three hours to lay the groundwork.
Waiting for Maxim to finally overcome the difficulties of the manuscript, it was already past eleven at night.
Elena was so sleepy that she rested her head on the nearby sofa cushion, squinting her eyes. She felt someone approaching and opened her eyes in a daze.
"Just want to know like this?" Maxim helplessly put the blanket back on the chair.
"Well, go ahead." Rubbing her eyes, Elena perked up.
She didn't care how much Amanda had recovered, but she wanted to know what Jason Parry had said.
Maxim drank coffee all afternoon, and now he feels particularly awake. He found a comfortable spot to sit down and cleared his throat.
"Jason said Amanda has been discharged."
Elena nodded thoughtfully. She could probably guess that Amanda had been discharged. After all, given Amanda's personality, it was very unusual for her to stay in the hospital for so long without coming out.
"The surgery restored most of the nerves in her legs, but she did indeed suffer a serious car accident initially, and on top of that, she has been paralyzed in bed for so many years. Even if she recovers, she will still have underlying health issues and won't be able to walk completely like a normal person."
"So even though she has recovered now, it's not a complete recovery."
Elena touched her chin, thinking about something, and suddenly heard Maxim laugh and say, "Do you want to meet with Jason? If you have any questions, you can ask him face to face. With me as a close friend, he will definitely tell you everything."
"I'd rather not."
"Why?" Maxim blinked gossipy eyes. "Jason is handsome and talented, though he's three or four years older than you. He takes good care of himself. Are you sure you don't want to meet him?"
Elena looked at her strange older brother.
She feels that everyone in the family is acting strangely today. It's as if they can't wait for her to get married. "You didn't conspire with Mommy to promote men, did you?"
"How could that be," Maxim leaned against the cushion, looking innocent, "Do I look like someone with so much free time?"
"You do," Elena nodded mercilessly.
"You heartless guy, you even hurt your brother's feelings."
Maxim rarely shows such a lively side, probably due to excessive caffeine intake this time. As soon as the cheesy words came out, Elena reflexively rubbed the goosebumps on her arms.
