Before Chang Fei could finish her sentence, she felt herself losing hold of Rao Jie. Turning around, she saw Wu Rong striding back to the door and pulling Rao Jie into the room.
Wu Rong didn’t spare Chang Fei a glance as he sternly said, “Please watch your words and actions. It’s late; you should leave. Your presence here is not good for me.”
Without waiting for Chang Fei to respond, he shut the door directly in her face, nearly causing her to bump her nose against it.
Fuming, Chang Fei stomped her foot at the door. What did he mean by watching her words? She hadn’t said anything wrong. How could it be a bad influence when he was bringing a female student into his room?
There were things she wanted to say but couldn’t, knowing that others lived nearby. She couldn’t just start banging on the door and shouting.
In the end, she could only curse Rao Jie in her heart and leave in a huff.
Inside the room, it was eerily quiet.
Once the outside noise faded, Rao Jie quickly wriggled free from Wu Rong's grip and awkwardly said, “I should go now; it’s getting late. You should rest early.”
However, before she could reach the door, Wu Rong blocked her way with his body.
“What’s this? Weren’t you looking for something?” Wu Rong's tone was hard to describe—somewhere between teasing and serious.
Rao Jie felt her face flush with embarrassment as she remembered why she was there. “Oh right! I forgot; I was just startled by Chang Fei, Senior Sister.”
After saying that, she hurriedly pretended to search for something.
Wu Rong lazily leaned against the doorframe, watching her with an amused expression. “So do you know why she was here?”
Rao Jie replied impatiently, “How would I know?”
Wu Rong raised an eyebrow. “Then I guess I’ll go ask her myself. What if she has something urgent to discuss with me?”
Rao Jie didn’t notice Wu Rong’s playful demeanor; hearing him say that made her anxious. She quickly looked up at him. “You…”
Only to meet his eyes filled with amusement.
Rao Jie immediately realized she had been played and stopped pretending to search for anything. She rushed to the door and exclaimed, “Move aside! I want to go back!”
But Wu Rong spoke like a rogue, “You keep coming up with excuses to come here just to prevent me from being alone with that woman. You’re acting so cute; do you really think I’ll let you leave? Do I have ‘fool’ written on my forehead?”
Rao Jie’s heart sank as she reached for the door handle, but Wu Rong’s weight pressed against it firmly, making it impossible to open.
Feeling panicked and already flustered from earlier, Rao Jie forgot about the lesson she had just learned. In a moment of desperation, she pushed against Wu Rong, trying to force the door open and escape this suffocating situation.
But just as she touched Wu Rong, a triumphant smile appeared on his face. "You really are foolish, never learning your lesson."
Wu Rong's expression made Rao Jie realize what was happening, and she tried to pull her hand away, but it was too late. Wu Rong had already grasped her wrist, turning to pin Rao Jie against the door. He leaned down and captured her lips. Rao Jie attempted to push him away, but his strength forced her back against the door.
As their kiss grew more intense, a knock echoed from outside. Rao Jie felt a jolt of panic and began to hit Wu Rong in a flurry of confusion.
Wu Rong paid no attention to the sounds coming from outside. Moments later, Ye Ming's voice called out, "Hey, is anyone there? Did it work? Come out and celebrate with a drink! How did you disappear so quickly?"
