Setting Sun The blood-red light illuminated the scarred earth. 0

In the depths of the ruins, corpses lay scattered, bones intertwined with decaying flesh. A few low caws of crows pierced the sky. Countless survivors trudged forward, their faces etched with despair and fear. In their struggle to survive, they were heading toward a place that might not even exist. 0

Legend had it that after the sun set, where the moon appeared, there lay the last untainted Safe Zone, known as the Dark Side of the Moon. It was the only remaining glimmer of hope, guiding them through a sea of death, as they fought against the relentless bites and infections of mutated corpses, all to preserve the flicker of human civilization. 0

A line of tens of thousands moved forward, and at intervals, a carefully selected individual known as a Grave Hunter would step forward. Once chosen by the Temporary Government, a Grave Hunter would bear a tattoo of a hunter's symbol on their neck, a mark that could never be erased until death. 0

When the apocalypse struck, we must stand before countless others. This was the mission—or perhaps the fate—of a Grave Hunter. Ever since the Nuclear Waste Catastrophe erupted months ago, Grave Hunters had emerged one after another. 0

At the back of the line, Leng Fengyang halted abruptly, alert as he heard an unfamiliar sound—a deep growl mixed with metal scraping and beastly roars. Suddenly, a shadow leaped from the crumbling walls; it was a Mutant Dog, its massive form glowing ominously through its mottled fur. Its eyes burned red like torches, fangs bared and dripping with blood, exuding an aura of ferocity. 0

Upon seeing this Abomination, panic swept through the group as terrified screams erupted and people began to retreat. Leng Fengyang held his breath, remaining calm as he drew out a rough weapon—a piece of rebar less than two meters long. 0

With a swift motion akin to that of a cheetah, he leaped into action, arcing through the air towards the agitated Mutant Dog. At the peak of his jump, he thrust downwards; the rebar became a deadly spear that pierced precisely into the creature's left eye. With a dull thud, crimson blood gushed along the rebar's length, staining the ground around them. 0

His movements were fluid and decisive; after delivering that strike, Leng Fengyang deftly withdrew the rebar and landed steadily on his feet without a tremor. The Mutant Dog, after letting out a piercing wail, collapsed heavily behind him. 0

Turning to face the fallen beast, Leng Fengyang felt a mix of emotions swirling within him. He understood all too well that in this wasteland world, every resource was precious—even those once loyal companions of humanity that had now become threats to survival: Mutated Species. 0

With a soft sigh, he signaled to several members of his team to carefully handle the corpse of the Mutant Dog, attempting to salvage any usable parts such as fur and some uncontaminated meat—resources that might serve as trade goods or sustenance in their uncertain future. 0

At that moment, a burly man suddenly leaped out from the team. His face was stern, especially the prominent cross-shaped scar on his right cheek, resembling lightning in the night. His deep voice carried an undeniable authority: "I want this trophy! You lot, get the hell out of my way!" 0

This man was named Zhang Wei, and the tattoo on his neck identified him as a Grave Hunter. 0

After his words, several team members, already filled with trepidation, quickly stepped aside, leaving only Leng Fengyang and Zhang Wei facing each other, their gazes locked in a fierce standoff. 0

"What? Are you not convinced?" Zhang Wei boasted, flexing his muscular chest and abdomen, his tone laced with provocation and confidence. 0

However, Leng Fengyang's eyes remained unusually calm, as if he could see through the hollowness behind Zhang Wei's bravado. "Being a Grave Hunter doesn’t give you the right to bully the weak or snatch food from your comrades. Your true enemies are not me; they are those mutated monsters." 0

Upon hearing this, Zhang Wei's expression shifted slightly, taken aback by the sharpness and righteousness of the rebuttal. 0

Though the surrounding team members had stepped back, their eyes were drawn to the confrontation, and an unprecedented tension filled the air, as if it could ignite at any moment. 0

Zhang Wei erupted in fury, snorting coldly before charging forward. His fists cut through the air with a whoosh, aiming directly for Leng Fengyang's face. 0

Yet Leng Fengyang swiftly dodged this fierce attack with ease. Seizing the momentum, he executed a side kick that struck Zhang Wei's side with precision and power, causing him to stagger back a few steps involuntarily. 0

This scene left everyone in the team astonished. 0

Zhang Wei regained his footing, disbelief flashing in his eyes before rage took over as he launched another aggressive assault. 0

But it seemed Leng Fengyang anticipated every one of his moves; whether it was a punch or a kick, he countered each attack skillfully while maintaining just enough restraint to avoid inflicting real harm. Each strike was perfectly timed and showcased exceptional martial skills. 0

After several exchanges, Zhang Wei's attacks became increasingly chaotic as his stamina waned. Ultimately, during an attempt to engage in close combat, he fell victim to Leng Fengyang’s clever use of terrain advantage—a well-executed leg sweep followed by a shoulder throw sent him crashing to the ground. 0

Lying there in pain and gasping for breath, Zhang Wei felt utterly humiliated. 0

"Remember this: in this apocalypse, it’s not about how many people you can defeat; it’s about how many you can protect," Leng Fengyang stated before wrapping the bloodied rebar in a similarly stained cloth and slinging it over his shoulder. 0

"What’s your name?" Zhang Wei asked begrudgingly, wanting to know more about the person who had brought him down. 0

"Leng Fengyang!" came the reply as he turned to leave and rejoined the team, leaving Zhang Wei alone to stew in resentment. He cursed inwardly: "To hell with your lofty ideals! How dare you teach me a lesson? No matter how strong you are, even a tiger takes a nap sometimes." 0

Zhang Wei's bitterness burned like an uncontrollable wildfire; he vowed that Leng Fengyang would pay for this humiliation. 0

After careful planning, Zhang Wei utilized his familiarity with this desolate area to set up what appeared to be an impeccable trap. 0

He quietly followed Leng Fengyang's trail, using the night as cover. At the edge of Waterfall Cliff, a secluded and perilous precipice, he set up bait and camouflage. 0

He knew that as a Grave Hunter in the team, Leng Fengyang often needed to venture out alone to gather food, presenting him with the perfect opportunity for revenge. 0

As night fell, when it was time for Leng Fengyang to leave the group in search of food, Zhang Wei hid in the shadows, a cold smile curling at the corners of his mouth. 0

Leng Fengyang fell right into his trap, stepping cautiously into the area he had meticulously designed. 0

Unwittingly, Leng Fengyang stepped into the trap; the ground suddenly gave way beneath him. Caught off guard, he stumbled and teetered on the edge of the abyss. 0

At that moment, a deafening roar echoed through the air as disturbed Mutated Beasts surged out from within Waterfall Cliff, creating a scene of sheer terror. 0

Zhang Wei emerged from his hiding place, witnessing Leng Fengyang's dire predicament. A chilling smile spread across his face as waves of exhilaration surged through him at the thought of revenge. 0

Leng Fengyang, this is what you get for crossing me! 0

Zhang Wei growled lowly, his eyes filled with pride and ruthlessness. The combination of traps and Mutated Beasts seemed to force Leng Fengyang into an inescapable corner. 0

Zhang Wei stood at the boundary between light and darkness, quietly savoring this deadly spectacle. 0
