Li Ling had been pulled into the kitchen by Grandma Gu, listening to their conversation. She watched as Li Xue's parents and Li Jin treated her so well, feeling an intense jealousy bubbling within her. She couldn't understand why they all liked Li Xue so much; after all, she was the one who was truly family, while Li Xue was just an outsider.
Taking a deep breath, Li Ling silently vowed that one day, she would make everything that belonged to Li Xue hers. Naturally, Grandma Gu stood by Li Ling's side; after all, she had raised her and Li Ling had always been good to her.
Liu Liyun felt disgusted by Li Ling's hypocritical demeanor. Li Wenguang sighed in resignation, wondering how he ended up with such a daughter. "Alright, it's getting late. Let's eat," he said.
Grandma Gu snorted coldly and pulled Li Ling away. Liu Liyun shook her head helplessly. "Your mother is really something; it’s always like this."
Li Wenguang chuckled lightly. "Let’s just endure it for now; we can't let Xiao Xue feel wronged."
Liu Liyun sighed in agreement. "True."
Li Xue smiled reassuringly at her parents. "Dad, Mom, don’t worry about me. I’m fine."
Liu Liyun patted her head gently. "Xiao Xue, don’t worry; your parents will always stand by you."
Li Xue paused for a moment, then smiled brightly. "Okay!"
After dinner, Li Xue returned to her room. Just as she finished showering and stepped out, she heard a knock on the door.
She walked over and opened it to find Liu Wen standing there. She was taken aback. "What are you doing here?"
Liu Wen's expression was grim. "Xiao Xue..."
Before he could finish his sentence, Li Xue slammed the door shut. Outside, Liu Wen stood frozen for a moment before resuming his knocking.
Taking a deep breath, Li Xue opened the door again. "What do you want?"
Liu Wen looked at her earnestly. "Xiao Xue, please listen to me..."
Once again, Li Xue shut the door on him. Outside, Liu Wen sighed in frustration but continued to knock persistently.
Li Xue took another deep breath and opened the door once more. "What exactly do you want?"
Liu Wen looked at her with determination. "Xiao Xue, I want to talk to you."
Li Xue glanced at him warily. "About us..."
"Xiao Xue!" Liu Wen interrupted loudly, desperation in his voice. "I’m begging you; just give me one chance."
Li Xue looked at him, his face a picture of desperate pleading, and couldn't help but recall the times in her past life when she had clung to him, begging for his love. Back then, he had coldly rejected her just the same. Now, thinking back on it, Li Xue felt a pang of sadness.
She took a deep breath. "Liu Wen, please don't do this."
Liu Wen was taken aback. "Xiao Xue, you..."
Li Xue pressed her lips together. "It's impossible for us now."
"Why?" Liu Wen asked loudly.
Li Xue inhaled deeply. "Because I already have a boyfriend."
Liu Wen's face turned pale. "What did you say?"
Li Xue met his gaze. "I said I have a boyfriend."
Liu Wen stared at her in disbelief. "No way!"
Li Xue frowned slightly. "Liu Wen, I don't want to make things awkward between us, so I hope you can respect my decision."
Liu Wen took a deep breath. "Xiao Xue, I won't give up on you."
Li Xue felt helpless. "Liu Wen, doing this will only ruin our friendship."
Liu Wen sneered coldly. "I don't care."
Li Xue sighed in resignation. "Just go."
As she spoke, she moved to close the door.
But Liu Wen blocked it with his hand.
Li Xue's anger flared. "Liu Wen, what do you want?"
He looked at her earnestly. "Xiao Xue, I'm begging you, give me one more chance."
Li Xue sighed again in frustration. "Liu Wen, please stop this."
Yet Liu Wen continued to plead. "Xiao Xue, I'm asking you again—just one more chance?"
Li Xue sighed once more. "Liu Wen, please stop."
But he still refused to let go.
Feeling exasperated, Li Xue snapped, "If you don't leave, I'll call the police."
Liu Wen froze for a moment. "Xiao Xue, you..."
"Are you leaving or not?" Li Xue shouted.
His face went pale again. "Fine, I'll go."
He reluctantly looked at Li Xue, "Xiao Xue, I will come to find you again."
"..." Li Xue slammed the door shut.
Outside, Liu Wen sighed and turned to leave.
In the living room, Liu Liyun and Li Wenguang were watching television.
Suddenly, the doorbell rang.
Liu Liyun got up to open the door and saw Liu Wen standing at the entrance.
She was taken aback, "You..."
Liu Wen smiled, "Hello, Auntie. I'm Liu Wen, a good friend of Xiao Xue. I'm here specifically to wish Uncle a happy birthday."
"..." Liu Liyun was slightly surprised, "Please come in."
Liu Wen nodded and walked inside.
Li Wenguang also looked surprised upon seeing Liu Wen, "Who is this...?"
Liu Liyun introduced, "This is Xiao Xue's friend, Liu Wen."
"..." Li Wenguang nodded, "Hello."
Liu Wen smiled, "Hello, Uncle. Happy birthday."

Liu Liyun looked at Liu Wen, "You and Xiao Xue..."
"Mom." Li Xue suddenly appeared.
Liu Liyun saw her and said, "Xiao Xue, your friend is here."
Li Xue coldly stared at Liu Wen, "Who is my friend?"
"..." Liu Liyun was taken aback, "This..."
Liu Wen smiled gently, "Xiao Xue, I know you're still angry with me, but I really came today to wish Uncle a happy birthday."
Li Xue sneered coldly, "What are you pretending for in front of my parents?"
"..." Liu Wen's face turned pale, "Xiao Xue, you..."
Li Wenguang noticed something was off; he looked at Li Xue and then at Liu Wen. "Xiao Xue, what is going on?"
Li Xue looked at Li Wenguang, "Dad, you don't need to pay attention to him; he's just a lunatic."
"..." Li Wenguang was stunned but nodded slowly, "Alright."
Liu Wen's face turned white, "Xiao Xue, you..."
Li Xue coldly regarded him, "Liu Wen, I advise you to leave while you can; otherwise, when my boyfriend finds out, he won't be happy."
"..." Liu Wen's face paled further, "What did you say?"
Li Xue smiled coldly, "My boyfriend gets really jealous. If he finds out you've been coming to see me repeatedly, he won't be happy."
Liu Wen's expression darkened, but he didn't say anything more. He took a deep breath and said, "Xiaoxue, I will come to see you again." With that, he turned and walked away.
Li Xue snorted and went back to her room.
Downstairs, Liu Liyun and Li Wenguang looked at Li Xue with some concern.
Liu Liyun sighed, "What's wrong with this child?"
Li Wenguang patted her hand reassuringly, "Don't worry, Xiaoxue will handle it."
Liu Liyun sighed again, "I just hope Xiaoxue doesn't get hurt."
Li Wenguang smiled, "Don't worry, Xiaoxue won't."
Liu Liyun sighed once more and said nothing further.
Li Ling listened from the side, feeling even more hatred toward Li Xue. She couldn't understand why everyone liked Li Xue when she was clearly the more outstanding one. She was determined to take everything that originally belonged to Li Xue.

Li Xue returned to her room and called Gu Jingchen. The call connected quickly.
"Hello."
Li Xue smiled, "Gu Jingchen."
Gu Jingchen asked softly, "What's wrong?"
Li Xue sighed, "I just ran into Liu Wen."
Gu Jingchen paused for a moment, "And then?"
Li Xue felt a bit helpless, "He insisted on getting back together with me."
Gu Jingchen was silent for a moment, "Did you agree?"
Li Xue immediately denied it, "Of course not."
Gu Jingchen asked gently, "Why not?"
Li Xue smiled, "Because I have a boyfriend now."
Gu Jingchen paused slightly, "Is that what you told him?"
Li Xue nodded, "Yes."
Gu Jingchen chuckled softly, "Did he do something wrong?"
Li Xue thought for a moment, "It seems he hasn't done anything wrong."
Gu Jingchen chuckled softly, "Then that means you're the one who's mistaken."
"..." Li Xue frowned, "What did I do wrong?"
Gu Jingchen smiled, "You misspoke."
Li Xue was taken aback, "What did I say wrong?"
Gu Jingchen replied gently, "You don't just have a boyfriend; you have a fiancé."
"..." Li Xue's face flushed, "Don't say such things."
Gu Jingchen laughed lightly, "Alright, I won't say anything untrue."
Li Xue felt a bit helpless, "Anyway, I've made it very clear to him, but he still keeps bothering me."
Gu Jingchen pondered for a moment, "Leave this matter to me."
Li Xue was surprised, "What do you plan to do?"

Gu Jingchen laughed lightly, "I really do miss you."
Li Xue felt a bit shy, "Then... then come see me tomorrow."
Gu Jingchen replied gently, "Okay."
Li Xue's face flushed again, "Then I'll hang up now."
"..." Gu Jingchen remained silent.
Li Xue waited for a moment and then ended the call.
