Wang entered with breakfast.
Li Xue felt as if a heavy burden had been lifted from her shoulders. She hadn't slept a wink last night, staying up to care for Gu Jingchen.
Wang smiled and said, "President, Miss Li has been by your side all night. You have no idea how good she is to you."

Li Xue's lips twitched slightly.
Gu Jingchen was in a good mood; he glanced at Li Xue and noticed the dark circles under her eyes. He smirked, "Is that so?"
Wang immediately nodded, "Of course! Miss Li took care of you all night without sleeping."
Li Xue interjected, "..."
Gu Jingchen chuckled, "I see." He turned to Li Xue, "You should go rest now."
Li Xue shook her head, "I'm fine."
Gu Jingchen looked at her intently, "Are you really okay?"
Li Xue nodded, "I really am fine."
Gu Jingchen smiled, "Alright then."
Wang watched them and chuckled, "President, Miss Li, you two chat; I'll step out for a bit."
Gu Jingchen responded lightly.
Wang left the room.
Gu Jingchen turned his gaze back to Li Xue. "What you said yesterday, was it true?"
Li Xue was taken aback. "What did I say?"
Gu Jingchen looked at her intently. "You said you liked me."
Li Xue's face flushed. "I... I meant it."
Gu Jingchen continued to gaze at her. "Do you really like me?"
Li Xue nodded shyly, "I really do like you."
Gu Jingchen smiled again. "Well, I like you too."
Li Xue's face turned even redder. "You... you said you like me?"
Gu Jingchen nodded slightly. "Mm."
Li Xue was a bit excited. "Do you really like me?"
He looked at her. "Of course I like you."
Li Xue's face turned crimson. "I do too."
The two exchanged smiles.
At that moment, there was another knock at the door.
Gu Jingchen glanced at the entrance. "Come in."
The door opened, and Driver Liu walked in.
He looked at Gu Jingchen. "President, I couldn't find out who tried to assassinate you."
Gu Jingchen narrowed his eyes. "Is that so?"
Driver Liu nodded. "However, I did find out that one of them is Professional Killer K."
Gu Jingchen sneered. "Is that right?"
He fixed his gaze on him. "Check who K has taken a job from recently."
Driver Liu immediately nodded. "Yes, I'll go do that now."
He left the room.
Li Xue looked at Gu Jingchen. "Do you know who sent someone to assassinate you?"
Gu Jingchen met her gaze. "I don't know."
He smiled lightly. "But I have a pretty good guess."
Li Xue paused. "You guessed it?"
Gu Jingchen nodded. "Mm."
Li Xue looked at him. "So what do you plan to do?"
Gu Jingchen chuckled. "What do you think?"
Li Xue shook her head. "I don't know."
Gu Jingchen studied her expression. "What do you think I should do?"
Li Xue replied earnestly, "I think you should tell your parents."
Gu Jingchen looked at her thoughtfully. "You think I should tell my parents?"
Li Xue nodded firmly. "Mm."
Gu Jingchen pondered for a moment. "You're right; I should tell my parents."
He gazed at her seriously. "And they should know about this matter as well."
Li Xue looked at him and asked, "So what do you plan to do?"
Gu Jingchen smiled faintly. "Of course, I will make them pay."
His gaze was icy.
Li Xue felt a twinge of fear as she looked at him. She had never seen this side of Gu Jingchen before.

The next day, Gu Jingchen was discharged from the hospital.
Li Xue went to pick him up.
Once in the car, Gu Jingchen turned to her and said, "Take me home first."
Li Xue was taken aback. "Why?"
Gu Jingchen replied, "Because I need to take a shower and change clothes."
"..." Li Xue was somewhat speechless.
She drove him home.
As they arrived, Gu Jingchen looked at her and asked, "Do you want to come in for a bit?"
Li Xue shook her head. "I won't go in."
Gu Jingchen continued to look at her. "Then wait for me here."
Li Xue nodded. "Okay."
Gu Jingchen went inside.
Li Xue sat in the car, waiting for him.
After a moment, Gu Jingchen came back out.
He opened the car door and sat in the passenger seat.
Li Xue glanced at him. "Did you finish your shower?"
Gu Jingchen nodded. "Yeah."
He looked at her and said, "Let's go."
Li Xue nodded in response. "Alright."
She started the engine and drove off.
In the car, Gu Jingchen stared out the window, his eyes deep with thought.
Li Xue stole a glance at him and asked, "What are you thinking about?"
Gu Jingchen looked at her. "I'm wondering who sent those people."
Li Xue paused. "Do you have any suspects?"
Gu Jingchen met her gaze. "Yes."
Li Xue asked, "What do you plan to do about it?"
Gu Jingchen smiled slightly. "What do you think I should do?"
Li Xue replied, "I think you should tell your parents first."
Gu Jingchen raised an eyebrow. "Why do you think I should tell my parents first?"
Li Xue explained, "Because they are your elders and have more experience than you. You should inform them and let them help you figure it out."
Gu Jingchen nodded. "That makes sense."
He continued to look at her. "Do you know why I told you?"
Li Xue was taken aback. "Why?"
Gu Jingchen said, "Because you care about me."
Li Xue's face flushed. "I... I'm your friend, of course I care about you."
Gu Jingchen chuckled. "Just a friend?"
Li Xue looked at him nervously. "What... what do you think?"
Gu Jingchen replied, "I think you don't see me as just a friend."
Li Xue's face turned even redder. "Then... what do I see you as?"
Gu Jingchen leaned closer. "What do you think?"
Li Xue shook her head. "I don't know."
Gu Jingchen smiled again. "You are my woman."
Li Xue blushed deeply. "I... I'm not your woman."
Gu Jingchen challenged her, "If you're not my woman, then whose woman are you?"
Li Xue hesitated. "I... I'm my own."
Gu Jingchen grinned. "You belong to yourself, but you also belong to me."
Li Xue protested, her cheeks still flushed. "I... I'm not yours."
