The window on the second floor of the supermarket is right next to the road. Normally, it is a bustling scene with a lot of traffic and people, but now it is dead silent. I rested on the second floor of the supermarket until around 6:30 in the afternoon. The sky gradually darkened, and I got up to organize my equipment. It was time to set off. I climbed down from the water pipe smoothly and crouched next to a car, carefully observing the situation on Main Street. According to the route I had planned earlier, I am now to the south of Songnan District and need to head north through the entire district to reach the Songming River.
I took out the compass, confirmed the direction, and then, taking advantage of the night, I stuck close to the car and began to walk north, crouching low.
As I crossed the street, I heard a low growl coming from the right ahead. I immediately crouched down next to a small car and observed the situation. The car window was not closed tightly, and in my haste, I hadn't noticed before. Now I turned my head and saw that the driver's seat was reclined flat, and there was a monster lying on the seat.
However, because it was strapped in with a seatbelt, it couldn't get down and could only keep trying to bite me with its two hands. I was startled by this guy, too lazy to deal with it, and immediately moved my body to the side, wanting to get away from it. Who knew this guy suddenly let out a roar. The monsters on the right front side heard the sound and looked over at me. I couldn't help but lower my head below the car to avoid being discovered.
However, just then, a stone suddenly flew from somewhere and hit the roof of the car in front of me with a loud "duang" sound, shaking the heavens. Then I saw through the car's rearview mirror that a large number of monsters were starting to move in my direction. This sudden and unexpected situation scared me so much that my throat almost came out.
I looked up at the sky and saw tall buildings all around, making it impossible to tell where the stone was thrown from. To avoid being discovered, I had to crouch and run forward. As the monster's roar behind me grew closer, running seemed pointless. Being discovered was inevitable. I saw a large truck ahead and decided to just dive under it.
This type of large truck chassis is generally higher than the chassis of a regular small car, so it's completely fine to hide a person underneath.
With those monster-like eyes, as long as you don't deliberately look under the car, it's generally difficult to spot me.
After a dozen seconds, I heard the sound of footsteps coming one after another, the monsters had already approached the large truck.
I saw a group of monsters' footsteps walking past the car, almost stepping right next to my head. A strong stench of blood and decay mixed with a pungent odor hit me in the face. I held my breath, covered my mouth, and resisted the urge to vomit, not daring to make a sound, afraid of being discovered. I figured that once discovered, I would be torn to pieces by these guys in less than five seconds.
After about two or three minutes, I heard the footsteps gradually fading away. It seemed that the majority of the monster army had already gone far away, and the foul smell from earlier had also dissipated somewhat. I waited for another half a minute to make sure that there were no monsters near the large truck before cautiously poking my head out and crawling out. I breathed heavily and carefully looked around, the group of monsters were facing away from me, probably more than a hundred meters away, so I was temporarily safe.
I leaned on the car, took a sip of water, looked down at the compass, and prepared to continue crossing the street. Unexpectedly, at this moment, another stone hit the roof of the car not far in front of me with a loud "duang" sound, which was deafening and startled me. I quickly crouched down, not daring to curse out loud at this moment, but a hundred thousand grass mud horses were already running wild in my heart.
I looked up at the sky and still didn't see where the stone was coming from. At this point, the group of monsters had already turned around and started roaring as they rushed towards me. Damn, I've been spotted, damn it!
I decided to run without any hesitation, and the monster behind me started chasing me at full speed. I saw a large shopping mall not far across the street, and the door was actually open. Without caring whether there was any danger inside, I rushed in. After entering, I looked back and saw that the monsters were still about seventy to eighty meters away from me. I hurriedly closed the glass door of the mall.
I found an electric rolling shutter next to me, and immediately pressed the electric switch. The rolling shutter began to slowly descend. Finally, just as the monster rushed to the door, it completely closed, and my heart also completely sank. After completely locking the rolling shutter, I realized that the cold sweat had already come down my back. It was so close, I couldn't help but pant heavily with my heart beating faster.
Soon there was a crazy sound of monsters banging on the door. The glass door outside probably wouldn't hold for long, but this Alloy material rolling shutter door could withstand the monster group, so there was no problem. I scanned the first-floor lobby and found nothing unusual. The goods were neatly arranged, and I didn't see any monsters or people. My eyes caught the elevator light in the first-floor lobby, and it was still on.
However, taking the elevator at this time is an extremely dangerous choice. If you encounter a monster in the elevator, there is nowhere to escape in the narrow space if a fight breaks out, and the likelihood of being injured in an attack is very high. I looked to the right at the escalator, then pulled out a fire axe and an Umbrella Sword, gripped them in my hands, and then took the escalator. I couldn't help but feel doubtful in my heart.
Just now those two rocks were deliberately thrown to attract the monster to attack me. Who the hell did this?
Could it be the same woman in a mask who attacked me in the supermarket before? That person hasn't gone far, she's nearby?
