When Chen Tinghai moved his parents' graves to Lotus Pod Leopard Cave, within just a year, his several concubines and his wife, who was over fifty, had given birth to seven sons.
It was just as Li Jinshan had said; Chen Tinghai was overjoyed, his heart blooming with happiness at the arrival of seven sons.
In the first two years, he took care of Li Jinshan meticulously, arranging for him to stay in the best guest room and serving him lavish meals every day, truly showing great concern.
However, as time passed, Chen Tinghai gradually felt that having a blind man in the house brought bad luck. So he kicked Li Jinshan out of the comfortable guest room and into the woodshed, replacing the lavish meals with leftover scraps.
Chen Tinghai smugly declared, "The reason I saved you two years ago was because I saw the token on you—the Imperial Talisman. I guessed you had escaped from the palace as the First Feng Shui Master, which is why I brought you home and treated you so well. My intention was to win your favor so you could help me find a good feng shui site to continue the Chen family's lineage. Now that I have seven sons, you are of no use to me anymore. Why should I continue to feed you well?"
At that moment, Li Jinshan finally realized that Chen Tinghai had been plotting against him all along. Knowing the truth filled him with rage and sorrow.
"Chen Tinghai, you ungrateful scoundrel! I'll fight you!"
Li Jinshan, wanting to fight back, was kicked down by Chen Tinghai and then locked in the stable, living with the horses for over a decade until his grandfather Li Tiancheng appeared, bringing a turning point to Li Jinshan's fate.
At that time, his grandfather was only in his teens and worked short-term jobs at Chen Tinghai's house, mainly taking care of horses. This is how he met Li Jinshan, who lived in the stable.
As time went on, they became close friends despite their age difference.
Li Jinshan shared his experiences with his grandfather in detail. Upon hearing about his plight, his grandfather expressed deep sympathy and often brought him treats from home. Their bond grew increasingly close.
Seeing his grandfather's kind heart and interest in feng shui techniques, Li Jinshan took him on as a disciple, naming him Li Tiancheng and imparting all his skills without reservation.
From his grandfather, Li Jinshan learned that Chen Tinghai was no good man; he bullied others and treated lives like dirt, notorious for being a local tyrant.
This made Li Jinshan regret helping such a villain find a feng shui site; no wonder retribution had come so swiftly.
More than twenty years had passed in the blink of an eye. Chen Tinghai's seven sons had either become officers in the National Army or married into wealthy families. The Chen family's influence grew stronger, and Chen Tinghai became increasingly arrogant, resembling a local emperor in Qingzhou City.
Grandfather had raised horses for the Chen family for several years without receiving a single penny in wages. When he went to demand payment, he was beaten severely, leaving him feeling incredibly frustrated.
He shared this incident with Li Jinshan, and as he spoke, he recounted all the various atrocities committed by Chen Tinghai over the years, oppressing the common people and disregarding human life.
Li Jinshan was furious upon hearing this. With a serious expression, he said, "I want you to break the ancestral feng shui of Chen Tinghai—the Lotus Pod Leopard Cave. Do you dare to go?"
Grandfather, fearless and bold, agreed without hesitation. He wanted to avenge his master and rid Qingzhou City of this menace.
Seeing Grandfather's willingness, Li Jinshan felt relieved and carefully explained how to break the Lotus Pod Leopard Cave.
“To break the Lotus Pod Leopard Cave, you must wait on the night of the full moon, before sunset, quietly lying behind Chen Tinghai's parents' grave. Patiently wait for the moon to rise. At that time, you will see a lotus pod sprouting from the top of the grave, and then seven children will jump out from the lotus pod, calling out ‘Grandpa and Grandma.’
Then you will see an elderly couple emerge from the grave, playing with those seven children.
At this moment, do not be afraid. You must seize the opportunity to run up to the top of the grave, grab the lotus pod by its roots, and then turn around and run. Remember, do not look back!”
After hearing this, Grandfather showed a puzzled expression and curiously asked, “Master, what happens if I look back?”
“You will be scared to death,” Li Jinshan replied. Although Grandfather had studied secret arts of feng shui for several years under Li Jinshan, he had never had any practical experience. Hearing his master speak so mysteriously left him somewhat skeptical.
Though Li Jinshan was blind, he could guess what Grandfather was thinking and smiled as he said, “Tonight is the full moon night; once you go there, you’ll know whether what I said is true or false.”
Following Li Jinshan's instructions, Grandfather arrived early at Chen Tinghai's parents' grave and cautiously lay down behind it.
It must be said that Grandfather was quite brave; he even fell asleep lying behind the grave.
A sudden chill swept through the air, waking Grandpa from his slumber.
He looked up at the sky; the bright moon hung high, yet there was no sign of a Lotus Pod emerging from the grave, let alone seven little children bouncing out of it.
Grandpa muttered to himself, "Master only knows how to boast. I should go back and confront him about this."
But just then, something miraculous happened.
Moonlight spilled over the grave, casting flickering shadows. A golden Lotus Pod slowly emerged from the top of the grave, and seven children, each the size of a thumb, appeared on the Lotus Pod. In an instant, they jumped down and transformed into normal-sized children upon landing.
The seven children surrounded the grave, calling out "Grandpa and Grandma," and soon after, an old man and an old woman dressed in splendid attire emerged from the grave.
Seeing this, Grandpa was secretly astonished; what unfolded before him was exactly as described by Grand Master Li Jinshan—no detail was amiss.
Not daring to be careless, Grandpa seized the opportunity while the seven children played with the two elders. He quietly climbed to the top of the grave and suddenly grabbed hold of the base of the Lotus Pod with all his strength, yanking it out of the ground before turning and running away.
At that moment, a chilling wind swept behind him, accompanied by the cries of the seven children and the furious shouts of the two elders.
"Return my Feng Shui spirit root! You’ve ruined the the Chen Family's Feng Shui! I will make you pay with your life!" The voice was eerie and terrifying, sending Grandpa into a frantic sprint without daring to pause for even a moment.
Perhaps out of curiosity, he couldn’t help but glance back as he ran. To his horror, he saw that both elders and all seven children had twisted faces, floating in mid-air as they clawed at him in pursuit.
