Li Xue and Gu Jingchen went to the hospital to visit Old Master Xu. He had fainted from anger and had been in a coma since being admitted. As they arrived at the hospital and stepped out of the elevator, they spotted Gu Jingchen's parents.
Gu Jingchen looked at them, "Dad, Mom."
Li Xue greeted them, "Uncle, Aunt."
Gu Jingtian nodded in acknowledgment.
Zhou Wen looked at them and asked, "Are you here to see your grandfather?"
Gu Jingchen nodded, "Yes."
Zhou Wen continued, "He just woke up; you should go in and see him."
Gu Jingchen asked, "Why are you all outside?"
Gu Jingtian replied, "He refuses to see us."
Gu Jingchen fell silent.
Li Xue looked at him and suggested, "Let's go in and see him."
Gu Jingchen nodded, "Alright."
The two of them entered the hospital room. Inside, Old Master Xu lay on the bed, his face pale and eyes tightly shut.
Li Xue and Gu Jingchen approached the bedside and looked at Old Master Xu.
Li Xue spoke softly, "Grandfather, Gu Jingchen and I are here to see you."
Old Master Xu opened his eyes and looked at them, "You’re here."
Li Xue nodded, "Yes, we are."
Old Master Xu turned his gaze to Gu Jingchen, "Gu Jingchen, come here."
Gu Jingchen stepped closer to the bed, looking at him intently. "Grandfather."
Old Master Xu asked sharply, "Does Zhiming's matter have anything to do with you?"
Gu Jingchen replied firmly, "Yes."
Old Master Xu glared at him, "Why did you do that?"
Gu Jingchen met his gaze steadily, "He attacked me first."
Old Master Xu's expression hardened as he retorted, "He is your cousin."
Gu Jingchen looked at him, "But he doesn't treat me like a cousin."
Old Master Xu exclaimed, "You—"
Gu Jingchen continued to gaze at him, "Grandfather, do you think I did something wrong?"
Old Master Xu glared at him, "You did wrong."
Gu Jingchen pressed on, "Do you think I shouldn't take revenge on him?"
Old Master Xu shot back, "You should take revenge on him, but you shouldn't be so ruthless."
Gu Jingchen replied, "I was ruthless because he wanted to put me to death."
Old Master Xu stammered, "You—"
Gu Jingchen asked again, "Grandfather, do you still think I did something wrong?"
Old Master Xu's expression softened slightly, "You didn't do wrong."
Gu Jingchen pressed further, "Then why are you angry?"
Old Master Xu retorted, "I'm angry because you shouldn't have kept this from me."
Gu Jingchen explained, "I didn't mean to hide it from you."
Old Master Xu demanded, "Then why didn't you say anything?"
Gu Jingchen admitted, "I was afraid you'd be angry."
Old Master Xu huffed, "You— you reckless brat."
Gu Jingchen urged gently, "Grandfather, please don't be angry."
Old Master Xu insisted, "You will stop your actions immediately, and then I won't be angry with you."
Gu Jingchen shook his head firmly, "That's impossible."
Old Master Xu coughed in frustration.
Li Xue quickly patted his back, "Grandfather, please don't be angry."
Old Master Xu glared at Gu Jingchen again, "You will stop your actions right now."
Gu Jingchen repeated resolutely, "That's impossible."
Old Master Xu's chest heaved with anger.
Li Xue hurriedly tried to calm him down, "Grandfather, please don't be angry; Gu Jingchen has his reasons."
Old Master Xu turned his fierce gaze on Gu Jingchen. "What reasons do you have?"
Gu Jingchen met his gaze and replied quietly, "I can't say."
"Grandpa—"
Li Xue looked at them. "Grandpa, Gu Jingchen really has his reasons. He didn't mean to hide it from you. If you want to blame someone, blame me. It was my idea."
Old Master Xu stared at her. "Your idea?"
Li Xue nodded. "Yes, it was my idea."
Old Master Xu continued to look at her. "Why did you do this?"
Li Xue met his gaze. "Because I didn't want Gu Jingchen to be wronged."
Old Master Xu was taken aback.
Li Xue pressed on, "Grandpa, Gu Jingchen is your grandson. You should understand his character; he is not a ruthless person. Everything he does has a reason behind it. I hope you can understand him and not be angry with him."
Old Master Xu fell silent.
Li Xue added, "Grandpa, we're leaving now. Please take care of yourself."
Gu Jingchen looked at her. "Let's go."
The two of them exited the hospital room.
At the door, Gu Jingchen's parents and Zhou Wen with her daughter were waiting.
Zhou Wen looked at them. "How is your grandpa?"
Li Xue replied, "He's doing well; he's already awake."
Zhou Wen asked, "Did he say anything to you?"
Li Xue shook her head. "He didn't say much."
Zhou Wen pressed further, "Really?"
Li Xue nodded again. "Really."
Zhou Wen continued to probe, "He didn't blame you?"
Li Xue assured her, "He didn't blame us."
Zhou Wen's eyes narrowed in concern. "Are you sure he didn't blame you?"
Li Xue affirmed, "He really didn't blame us."
Zhou Wen fell silent.
Gu Jingtian turned to Gu Jingchen. "Come with me to the company."
Gu Jingchen looked at him and said, "I don't have time right now."
Gu Jingtian glared at him, "Your grandfather is in that condition, and you're still busy with your career?"
Gu Jingchen repeated, "I'm saying it again, I don't have time right now."
"You—" Gu Jingtian started.
Zhou Wen grabbed his arm, "Jing Tian, don't be angry."
Gu Jingtian shot her a glare, "Why are you holding me back?"
Zhou Wen replied, "Jing Tian, Gu Jingchen is right. He really doesn't have time."
Gu Jingtian turned to her, "How do you know he doesn't have time?"
Zhou Wen answered, "I guessed."
Gu Jingtian narrowed his eyes at her, "You guessed? On what basis?"
Zhou Wen looked back at him, "Based on what I know about him."
Gu Jingtian fell silent.
Zhou Wen then turned to Gu Jingchen and Li Xue, "You two should go back."
Li Xue looked at her and said, "Auntie, why don't you come back with us?"
Zhou Wen shook her head, "I want to stay with him a bit longer."
Li Xue insisted, "I'll stay with you."
Zhou Wen replied firmly, "No need. You and Gu Jingchen should go back."
Li Xue asked again, "Auntie, are you sure you don't need us to stay?"
Zhou Wen shook her head once more, "I really don't need you to stay."
Li Xue sighed and said, "Alright then. Gu Jingchen and I will head back first. Call us if you need anything."
Zhou Wen nodded, "Okay."
Li Xue turned to Gu Jingchen, "Let's go."
Gu Jingchen replied simply, "Alright."
The two of them left.
Gu Jingtian looked at Zhou Wen and asked, "Why didn't you let them stay with you?"
Zhou Wen met his gaze and said, "They are younger; how could I let them stay with me?"
Gu Jingtian pressed on, "Why are you being so polite with them?"
Zhou Wen looked at him, "I'm not being polite with them; I really don't want them to accompany us."
Gu Jingtian gazed at her, "You really don't want them to accompany us?"
Zhou Wen nodded, "I truly don't want them here."
Gu Jingtian continued to look at her, "Then why did you let them go?"
Zhou Wen replied, "They can't help with anything here; it's better for them to go back."
Gu Jingtian asked again, "Do you really think that way?"
Zhou Wen nodded firmly, "I really think so."
Gu Jingtian looked at her, "Alright then, what should we do?"
Zhou Wen suggested, "Let's go back too."
Gu Jingtian inquired, "Are we going back now?"
Zhou Wen affirmed, "Yes, we're going back now."
Gu Jingtian asked about him, "What about him?"
Zhou Wen reassured him, "He will be fine."
Gu Jingtian pressed on, "Are you sure?"
Zhou Wen nodded confidently, "I am sure."
Gu Jingtian concluded, "Okay then, let's head back."

Gu Jingchen's smile was particularly warm under the sunlight, his eyes filled with affection. Although Li Xue pretended not to care on the surface, a hint of sweetness stirred within her due to this simple interaction.
Gu Jingchen started the car and slowly drove out of the hospital parking lot. He didn’t directly answer Li Xue’s question but chose a road that led away from the city.
"Where are we going?" Li Xue asked with some confusion.
"To a special place," Gu Jingchen replied mysteriously.
The car wound along the mountain road for about half an hour before finally stopping at a clearing on the mountainside. From there, they could overlook the entire city; the sunset cast a breathtaking glow across the sky.
Li Xue was stunned by the view before her. She got out of the car and took a deep breath of the fresh air. Gu Jingchen walked over to her side, and they stood together.
"Isn't it beautiful here?" Gu Jingchen asked softly.
"Incredibly beautiful," Li Xue marveled sincerely.
"This is my secret base," Gu Jingchen said with a smile. "Whenever I feel stressed or need to think, I come here."
Li Xue turned to look at him, surprise flickering in her eyes. "You brought me to such a private place; aren't you afraid I'll leak your secret?"
Gu Jingchen shook his head. "I believe you."
These simple four words made Li Xue's heart race. She knew that Gu Jingchen's trust weighed more than any words could express.
The two stood quietly, savoring the tranquility. A surge of emotion welled up in Li Xue; she wanted to tell Gu Jingchen that she was willing to share all the joys and sorrows with him.
"Gu Jingchen," Li Xue's voice trembled slightly, "I know you have many burdens and pressures. I... I want to face them with you."
Gu Jingchen turned his head, surprise flickering in his eyes, soon replaced by deep emotion. He grasped Li Xue's hand tightly.
"Xue, you don't need to do this," Gu Jingchen's voice was low and powerful. "I don't want to drag you into my war."
Li Xue shook her head firmly. "I've already been drawn in. From the moment I met you, I was no longer an outsider."
Gu Jingchen gazed deeply at Li Xue, his eyes filled with complex emotions. Finally, he let out a gentle sigh.
"Alright, since you say so, then we'll face it together." There was a hint of relief in Gu Jingchen's voice.
Li Xue smiled, her smile radiant under the sunlight. They exchanged glances and laughed, as if all difficulties had vanished.
As the sun began to set and night fell, Gu Jingchen took a picnic blanket and some food from the car. They enjoyed a simple dinner under the starry sky.
As night deepened and the temperature dropped, Gu Jingchen thoughtfully draped his coat over Li Xue's shoulders. They leaned against each other, discussing their dreams and plans for the future.
"Xue, no matter what happens in the future, I will protect you." Gu Jingchen's voice sounded particularly resolute in the night breeze.
Li Xue rested her head on his shoulder and whispered, "I know."
As night deepened, they embraced each other under the stars and fell asleep. In this peaceful night, their souls found an unprecedented calm.
Meanwhile, on the other side of the city, the crisis at Xu Group continued. Old Master Xu's health had become the focal point of internal struggles within the group, and Gu Jingchen's absence made the situation even more uncertain.
Gu Jingtian and Zhou Wen returned home, both filled with worry. They knew that Gu Jingchen's decisions would have far-reaching effects on the entire family.
"What should we do, Tian?" Zhou Wen's voice carried a hint of helplessness.
Gu Jingtian furrowed his brow; he knew they needed to find a solution quickly or risk inevitable family division.
"We must unite," Gu Jingtian said firmly. "No matter what Jing Chen decides, we must support him."
Zhou Wen looked at her husband with determination in her eyes. She understood that this was a battle concerning family honor and future; they could not back down.
Meanwhile, on the other side of the city, Li Xue and Gu Jingchen were enjoying their rare moment of peace. They knew that when the sun rose again, they would have to face real challenges. But for now, they chose to cherish this moment of tranquility and each other's company.
