Amidst the applause, the man stepped out from the right side of the podium. The moment he appeared in front of everyone, the atmosphere in the auditorium became noticeably restless, with low gasps echoing from all directions. 0

"Oh my gosh, I'm in love!" 0

"No one told me today's speaker would be this handsome!" 0

"What a terrible seat! A girl in the back complained while putting on her glasses. "I can't even see him from this far away!" 0

Soft beams of light illuminated the stage, revealing Shen Du in a sharply tailored navy suit, standing tall like a crane. Facing the attentive gaze of the students below, he remained calm and composed, a faint smile gracing his clear features. 0

"Hey, hey," Lin Mo leaned closer to Yao Nian and sighed dramatically, "I didn't expect our college's lecture quality to be this high." 0

The girl’s expression was stiff as she stared at the man on stage, speechless. 0

The large screen displayed Shen Du's impressive resume, and it was then that Yao Nian realized just how little she knew about him. After graduating from Huada University, he obtained a master's degree at the Zhongzheng Court and then spent a year as a visiting scholar at Duke University in the United States. Upon returning to China, he founded Xincheng Law Firm and served as legal counsel for several well-known enterprises in Shanghai. 0

This was Yao Nian's first time experiencing so directly just how outstanding he truly was. 0

Shen Du's voice resonated throughout the auditorium as he shared his growth experiences, the hardships of starting a business, and his analysis of the current state of legal professionals. He articulated the complex laws and regulations with profound clarity. 0

Holding the microphone, Shen Du said, "I often feel confused. Since entering this profession, I have witnessed both the good and evil of human nature. There are times when I feel powerless because I cannot find perfect solutions. The reality of life is vastly different from our ideal vision of a lawful society. Yet having seen darkness, I still stand in the light; perhaps that is the meaning of studying law." 0

He took a step forward, his voice slow and firm: "In a thousand years of darkness, one light can illuminate." 0

The audience erupted into enthusiastic applause. 0

Yao Nian recalled that Shen Du had once asked her why she chose to study law; her answer had made him chuckle. She realized that no matter how determined she was or how thick her walls were built, his mere presence could easily shatter her psychological defenses. 0

"Ah," Lin Mo exclaimed suddenly, "Why are you crying?" 0

Yao Nian sniffed and hurriedly turned her head away. 0

Lin Mo was bewildered. The lecture was indeed compelling, but was it really that moving? 0

Taking a deep breath, she regained her clarity just as she intended to explain something when she heard the department head say, "If anyone has questions for Lawyer Shen, please feel free to speak up." 0

Hands shot up in unison from below. 0

Shen Du smiled and scanned the students with his gaze before quickly locking onto one. 0

In the middle of the third row, there was a girl wearing a white sweater. Everyone's gaze turned in the direction she indicated. The third row? Isn't that where we are sitting? Lin Mo glanced around and realized that Yao Nian was indeed wearing a white sweater. 0

Excitedly, she said, "Hey! Is it you?" 0

Yao Nian, who had been lost in thought, snapped back to reality. "What?" 0

"Lawyer Shen wants you to ask a question!" Lin Mo urged in a hushed tone. 0

Yao Nian opened her mouth slightly, "I don't have any questions." 0

As she spoke, the microphone was passed from the front row to her hand. When she looked up again, the man on stage was smiling at her. 0

Caught off guard by the sudden eye contact, Yao Nian felt a bit flustered and slowly stood up while pressing down on the rebound chair. 0

Shen Du even took a moment to reassure her, "Don't be nervous; you can ask anything." 0

Under the watchful eyes of so many people, Yao Nian felt incredibly awkward, as if her toes were digging into the ground. His expression clearly indicated that he was doing this on purpose—there were so many hands raised, yet he chose to point at her! 0

Clearing her throat, Yao Nian made an effort to steady her breathing and switched to a more formal tone: "You just mentioned that feeling powerless comes from not being able to find the perfect solution. What methods should we use to face our current difficulties?" 0
