The Moonshadow Society quickly attracted a large number of students fascinated by mysticism and the bizarre after its establishment. The activities of the society gradually increased, filled with strange and unusual events, whether it was nighttime rituals or discussions about the deeper meanings of mysterious symbols, all imbued with an eerie atmosphere. Those students who usually hid in the corners of the school, afraid to express their interests, seemed to have found a place they could call home. 0

Laf was fully invested, leading this group of unorthodox thinkers in various explorations. The first gathering of the society took place in an open area outside the campus. Dim moonlight filtered through thick clouds as the students gathered around an ancient altar, which was covered with peculiar items they had found nearby—decaying animal corpses, broken branches, dead birds struck by cars, and even an unnamed owl skull. Each item radiated a strange aura, precisely what the students craved. 0

Everyone wore black robes, holding flashlights that illuminated the ground as they quietly recited ancient incantations copied from books by Laf. Their voices rose and fell, merging with the howling night wind. The content of the incantations had long been forgotten; what mattered was the atmosphere—this place was filled with the unknown, brimming with their reverence for mysterious powers. 0

Most of these students were marginalized by mainstream society. They harbored an uncontrollable enthusiasm for bloodshed, grotesqueness, severed limbs, bones, and even blood—things that ordinary people would avoid at all costs. They would share gruesome videos during meetings, giggling excitedly at the brutal scenes from B-movies. Someone would pull out a piece of animal bone and caress it gently as if it were a treasure; another would bring their collection of bizarre images to discuss the symbolic meanings behind those twisted visuals. 0

"This feels like a free world!" an introverted boy exclaimed excitedly. "Out there, people think we're monsters, but here, everything feels normal—it's even beautiful!" 0

Laf listened to these words with a slight smile, feeling an immense sense of pride. She knew that this society was becoming what she had always dreamed of—a sanctuary for the strange, the bizarre, and even the wicked. Here, everyone could embrace their darkest and most secret interests without fear because they understood that everything was accepted. 0

The rituals of the society became increasingly concrete and profound. They evolved from simple chants and symbolic ceremonies to real sacrifices involving blood and animal corpses. Each time an animal's body was placed on the altar, excitement sparkled in the students' eyes. They felt they were touching something forbidden; it was this sense of taboo that provided them with unparalleled pleasure. Severed limbs, bones, and blood became their language here, as they expressed their awe and desire for dark forces through it. 0

These activities allowed students who were obsessed with B-movies, grotesque films, and even cruel imagery to find their "home." They were no longer suppressed by mainstream societal norms but instead found liberation here. Whenever a member brought in a fresh corpse or showcased a more shocking item, low murmurs of excitement erupted throughout the society. Those things once scorned and intolerable by society became symbols of freedom and soul liberation within the Moonshadow Society. 0

James stood behind it all, observing coldly with a slight smile on his lips. He knew that these students had become completely ensnared by his control. Their minds were fully captivated by mysticism and dark powers; these twisted rituals and behaviors were merely the beginning. Over time, this group would become loyal followers in his future endeavors, following him unreservedly to the brink of madness. 0

However, as Moonshadow Society's activities grew increasingly bizarre, many students and professors within the school began to express strong unease and aversion toward the organization. They whispered among themselves and even publicly condemned Moonshadow Society's actions as outrageous, claiming that its activities had exceeded normal academic boundaries and resembled cult rituals. Especially after several events where someone discovered that their meeting places looked like crime scenes—filled with strange symbols, decaying animal corpses, and traces of blood—this only fueled further condemnation within the school. 0

"This is nothing short of a cult! What on earth are they doing?" one professor exclaimed angrily during a faculty meeting while vehemently criticizing Moonshadow Society. "Such behavior is an insult to our campus! How can we allow this to happen?" 0

Among students too, dissenting voices began to rise. "Those people are completely insane!" someone complained. "Every time they hold a ritual somewhere, it looks like something horrific just happened—it's disgusting!" 0

As these voices continued to ferment, the situation gradually spiraled out of control. Soon, it was not just verbal opposition; there were even acts of violence directed at the members of the Moonshadow Society. Laf and her companions often encountered malicious verbal bullying while attending classes or walking through the campus. 0

"Freaks!" a student shouted as they passed by, his face twisted in disdain. "Go do your cult rituals!" 0

"We don't need people like you in our school!" another person yelled angrily, even throwing a piece of fruit that struck Laf on the shoulder. 0

Laf's face turned pale, her eyes flashing with anger and humiliation, but she held back from lashing out. She knew that these opposing voices were spreading, and she and her fellow society members were becoming the focal point of this malice. 0

As the opposition grew stronger, violent incidents even erupted outside the Student Affairs Office. On one occasion, someone splashed paint at the office door, red paint splattering everywhere like blood across the doorframe. Insulting notes were left on the ground, reading "Get out of our campus!" When Laf and her members saw this scene, their hearts filled with terror and rage. 0

"Are these people insane?" Laf trembled with anger, her hands clenched into fists. "They don't even understand what we're doing; they're just making baseless accusations!" 0

However, things did not calm down. As the tide of opposition swelled, some even began to physically attack them. One time, after returning from a ritual event, Laf and several members were surrounded by a group of angry students who unleashed a barrage of verbal assaults. Someone picked up a stone and hurled it at them; it struck Laf's arm, causing her pain that nearly made her cry out. Other members also faced varying degrees of attack. 0

"Go back to your cult!" a student shouted with laughter, seemingly proud of their actions. 0

These attacks filled Laf with a sense of defeat and fear. She understood that the Moonshadow Society had become the focal point of the entire campus; whether supporters or opponents, there was no way for the society to exist quietly any longer. She returned to the office with her injured companions, her hands trembling and her eyes glinting with vengeful fire. 0

"We cannot be defeated by these people..." Laf whispered to herself, her heart heavy with indignation. "The professor said we are in pursuit of truth, and those who oppose us are simply afraid of it." 0
