At the age of twenty, full of youthful vigor, Yuan had long held a grudge against Shazhu, who had often mocked him in the past. Having learned some cooking skills from his master, Yuan was not one to back down when Shazhu confronted him. Fueled by his half-baked skills, Yuan managed to give Shazhu a good beating.
Having lived in the courtyard for quite some time, Yuan was somewhat aware of the characters of the people there. Now that he had beaten Shazhu, he knew that Shazhu would surely seek revenge. Therefore, he was particularly cautious whenever he went out, fearing that he might fall into Shazhu's trap.
However, despite all his precautions against Shazhu's retaliation, it was during one of his outings that he encountered a few small-time thugs harassing a young girl. Stepping in to help her, Yuan ended up fighting with those thugs. When they realized they were no match for him, the thugs resorted to a despicable tactic and threw lime at him. Caught off guard, Yuan got lime in his eyes.
Just then, a patrol team arrived and apprehended the thugs on the spot. Unfortunately, Yuan was sent to the hospital where it was discovered that the lime had severely damaged his eyes—he had become blind.
Feeling despondent about his newfound blindness, Yuan succumbed to despair and ingested rat poison from his home. After witnessing Yuan's memories, Wang Qiang understood what kind of world he had entered. Before the zombies appeared, Wang Qiang had been an avid reader of novels and had read countless stories set in courtyard settings. He never imagined that one day he would find himself transported into such a world.
Suddenly, he felt a sharp pain in his stomach and realized with dread that it must be the result of the rat poison Yuan had consumed. He needed to find a way to save himself; he couldn't die just after crossing over. Who knew if he would ever have another chance to travel again?
If only his space were still intact! It contained various supplies and plenty of antidotes! Just as he thought about needing an antidote, a bottle of medicine appeared in his hand. What was this? An antidote? Could it be that my space came along with me?
Concentrating on this thought, he checked and found that indeed his space had followed him. After several upgrades, it now measured five meters in length, width, and height! The space was filled with supplies!
Though it might seem small, this space was considered large in apocalyptic times! The only downside was that no one could enter it, nor could any living creatures.
Feeling the pain in his stomach intensifying, Wang Qiang quickly drank the antidote. It was truly effective against zombie viruses; as soon as he swallowed it, the pain in his stomach subsided!
Suddenly realizing that his space had come along with him made Wang Qiang wonder if his mental abilities had also followed. Closing his eyes to sense it, he soon opened them again with joy. Despite his vision being clouded and gray, it couldn't hide the happiness on his face!
Great! His mental abilities had indeed come along!
Now even though this body was blind, he could use his mental power to sense everything around him! In the past during apocalyptic times, he often used mental power for perception—it was far more effective than relying on sight!
From now on, he would use mental power instead of eyes! Fortunately, his mental strength was strong enough to maintain continuous perception without any issues!
