She was as young as Li Yuer. However, Lin Fan felt that if Li Yuer knew he was comparing her to a thirty-six-year-old woman, she would definitely tear him apart. The thought of Li Yuer's fierce and intimidating demeanor made Lin Fan tremble inside, and he dared not entertain any other thoughts.
He glanced back at the Mercedes-Benz, where Guo Xue shot him a cold look. Lin Fan's expression darkened.
With a roar, the Mercedes-Benz slowly pulled away. Lin Fan wondered to himself: What’s wrong with Auntie today? She seems in a bad mood.
Inside the car, Zheng Keke looked over at Guo Xue and asked, "Mom, what’s wrong?"
Guo Xue's eyes showed no emotion as she replied, "Nothing, dear."
"Oh," Zheng Keke pouted, thinking to herself: Is Lin Fan lying to me? Why does he seem so dismissive when he talks to me?
Zheng Keke decided that tomorrow she would come up with a question to test Lin Fan's sincerity. If he was lying, she would ignore him; if he was telling the truth, she would ask him to be her mentor.
In a high-end restaurant, the clock struck the hour. Li Yuer deliberately arrived right on time. After surveying the room, she walked over to a gentleman wearing gold-rimmed glasses. This man was her blind date.
His name was Cao Chong. He looked at Li Yuer with kind eyes. After sizing her up, he quickly noticed that Li Yuer was an exceptionally beautiful woman with a stunning figure. Moreover, she exuded a special charm that was undeniable, even when wrapped in loose casual clothing. Cao Chong could still see how striking her silhouette was.
In an instant, he felt particularly pleased with Li Yuer. A smile broke across his face as he said, "Waiter, let's place an order."
Li Yuer sat across from him, a faint polite smile appearing on her delicate face. She had no idea what Cao Chong was thinking. After all, she believed that with her outfit today, this blind date was bound to be a failure.
With such thoughts, Li Yuer's mood lightened a bit. She turned to Cao Chong and said, "I need to leave by half-past."
Cao Chong nodded vigorously in response.
After a moment, Li Yuer added, "Let's wait a bit."
Cao Chong paused for a second and then said, "It's my treat."
Li Yuer replied seriously, "No need."
At six o'clock, Li Yuer returned to her neighborhood, carrying groceries as she walked towards her building. When she reached the entrance, she spotted Lin Fan sitting on the steps outside. She paused for a moment before smiling and asking him:
"Little brother, what are you doing here?"
Lin Fan paid no mind to Li Yuer's address and asked, "Auntie, did your blind date not go well?"
"Ah, no, I mean, did it?"
Li Yuer looked at Lin Fan with a strange expression on her pretty face. After a moment, she pursed her lips and replied, "No."
"Oh dear."
Lin Fan smiled briefly before immediately pretending to be disappointed. "Oh well."
Seeing Lin Fan's acting, Li Yuer's face darkened as she asked, "What does my failed blind date have to do with you?"
Without thinking, Lin Fan replied, "It means I can come over to Auntie's house for dinner!"
Li Yuer frowned and said, "So I'm just your meal ticket?"
Feeling a bit embarrassed, Lin Fan replied, "For now, yes."
"Hmph."
Li Yuer opened the door and headed upstairs.
Lin Fan quickly followed her.
As Li Yuer opened the door to her home, she turned to Lin Fan and said, "Come over for dinner at seven."
