Ruan Anmu immediately reached out to pull Ruan Fuxi away, fearing that she might get hit by the snake egg. She cursed, "Are you out of your mind? You know the snake is coming for the egg, and yet you throw it over here? Are you trying to get us killed?"
Ruan Fuxi looked at Ruan Anmu, who was shielding her, and instead of backing away, she caught the snake egg. The king cobra, which had been heading straight for them, suddenly halted and turned toward Yu Qi instead. Yu Qi screamed in fright and hurriedly fled, but the king cobra relentlessly pursued her. Even when she pulled out snake repellent powder, it was useless.

Ruan Fuxi raised an eyebrow while holding the snake egg. "I told you not to touch the egg, but you didn’t listen. You threw it to me to attract the king cobra's attack. Yu Qi, do you think I’m some brainless saint?"

Ruan Fuxi showed no intention of intervening; instead, she stood by with Ruan Anmu, watching with interest as Yu Qi fled in a panic. After all, she was just a frail and pitiful woman—who would dare to rescue someone from the jaws of a venomous snake?
Yu Qi's terrified screams echoed across the mountain, drawing the attention of Fu Sichan and the others.
"Brother Han, it seems like Ruan Fuxi and the others are in some kind of trouble. Should we go help?"
Fu Sichan frowned, contemplating for a few seconds before responding, "Let's go take a look."
After all these years of being pampered by the Ruan family, if something truly happened right under their noses, Ruan Huai might blame him as her brother.
When they arrived at the scene, they immediately spotted the striking king cobra and the disheveled Yu Qi.
Recognizing them, Yu Qi cried out as if she had seen a savior, "Help me, cousin!"

Yu Qi's face turned pale with fear. Just when she was terrified that the snake would continue to attack her, she saw the king cobra slither away.
She let out a sigh of relief, but in the next moment, she witnessed Ruan Fuxi returning the snake egg to its nest. The fierce king cobra that had seemed so menacing just moments ago now appeared like a well-behaved pet eager to please its owner, even nudging its head against Ruan Fuxi's shoe.
Seeing this scene, Yu Qi thought to herself that it was over. She must have been poisoned too deeply and was starting to hallucinate.
