Ruan Fuxi sensed the gazes of several people and guessed that the earlier scene of the snake rubbing against her had been recorded. She innocently shrugged her shoulders.
"Maybe that snake is grateful for me saving its egg," she mused, reflecting on the situation. "I didn't expect it to be such a sensible snake."
Ruan Huai and the others fell silent at her words, unsure of how to respond. A snake? Sensible? Why not just say it can understand human speech?
However, Ruan Huai chose not to press further. After Fu Sihan and the others left, he turned to Ruan Fuxi and Ruan Anmu. Despite his serious expression and sharp gaze, Ruan Fuxi could still see the concern hidden beneath his sternness.
"What are you two doing together up in the mountains?" he asked, a hint of worry creeping into his heart. He feared that his spoiled sister might want to harm Anmu.
Fuxi had been overly pampered, her personality domineering. He worried that once she learned about her true heritage, she might make some irreversible mistake. Thus, in his plans, the two of them shouldn't have met so soon.
Before Ruan Fuxi could speak, Ruan Anmu hesitantly asked, "Should I call you brother?"
Then she added, "Xixi said the wild boar here tastes great and that the farmhouse food is delicious and fun, so she wanted to bring me along."
Ruan Fuxi nodded in agreement from the side.
Seeing their good rapport, Ruan Huai was somewhat surprised. Given Fuxi's nature, he expected her to bully others instead. Could it be that the sun had risen from the west?
One was a non-blood-related sister he had grown up with for many years, while the other was his biological sister who had just come into his life. If he were caught between the two, Ruan Huai honestly didn't know what to do.
Seeing them getting along well brought a sense of relief to her heart. However, due to Ruan Fuxi's past misdeeds, Ruan Huai remained uneasy and chose not to leave just yet. Together, they arrived at a farmhouse where they tasted the famous wild boar and strolled around the quaint village.
As afternoon approached, Ruan Huai instructed his assistant to drive them down the mountain. But Ruan Fuxi spoke up, "Brother, I really like it here. I plan to stay a few more days. You can take Anmu back."
Ruan Fuxi genuinely enjoyed her time there, but it wasn't just the farmhouse or the wild boars that captivated her. It was the spiritual energy of the mountain. While practicing her Beast Control Technique earlier that day, she sensed something extraordinary about this place. Coming from the world of cultivation, she couldn't let such an opportunity slip by.
Ruan Huai was reluctant to leave her alone, but he couldn't argue with Ruan Fuxi. After all, there were still staff members at the farmhouse. With a serious expression that served as both a warning and advice, he finally took Ruan Anmu down the mountain.
"Since you want to stay longer, behave yourself and don't cause any trouble that would upset Mom and Dad. But if anyone tries to bully you or spread rumors, don't let them get away with it."
The assistant couldn't help but scoff inwardly. With Ruan Fuxi's reputation and demeanor, who could possibly bully her? It would be a miracle if she didn't ride roughshod over others. However, judging by the president's tone, it seemed that the Ruan family had no intention of kicking out their faux daughter.
Listening to her brother's stern warning warmed Ruan Fuxi's heart. She hadn't expected the seemingly cold-faced president to be such a caring and chatty older brother behind closed doors. With such a wonderful family supporting her, she would do everything in her power to prevent the downfall of the Ruan Corporation and the tragic ending of broken families depicted in novels.
After Ruan Huai and the others left, Ruan Fuxi hadn't even begun exploring the spiritual energy of the mountain when her phone vibrated in her pocket. She opened it to find a new message in an online dating group she had recently joined.
