The director in charge of daily necessities was named Wang Wenjing, who happened to be the aunt of Wang Xiaona. There was also a man named Zhao Qingwei, who was in his forties. Both of them treated Ye Fangfei quite kindly.
After Accountant Wang left, Ye Fangfei officially took over the accounting affairs of the department store. At first, Wang was worried that Ye Fangfei would be flustered. However, her performance impressed Wang; not only did she remain calm, but her accounting was even clearer than when Old Wang was around.
With work on track, Ye Fangfei finally had time to visit her family. The department store was close to where she lived, but it was quite far from her parents' home. Additionally, she had been busy adapting to her new job over the past few days and hadn’t found the time to go back.
Now that she had settled into her work routine and with Sunday approaching, Ye Fangfei planned to buy some things and visit her family. Before finishing work, she bought a pound of chicken cake and a bottle of wine for Ye Jianguo. This was one of the perks of working at the department store; the wine wasn’t even on display—it had been secretly kept by the sales clerk.
Although Ye Fangfei had only been on the job for a few days, everyone at the department store knew that a new accountant had arrived. They found various excuses to come by and get familiar with her. That’s why when Ye Fangfei went shopping, the sales clerks would bring out their hidden treasures for her.
The next day, since she didn’t have to work, Ye Fangfei slept in. By the time she got up, it was already half past eight. After washing up and having breakfast, she finished getting ready and left around nine.
It took about half an hour to ride her bike from her home to her parents' house. When she arrived, Hao Chunying was sitting at the gate chatting with Aunt Sun and Wang Dazui.
"Has Feifei not been back for several days? I haven’t seen her in a while," Aunt Sun remarked as they were talking about Ye Fangfei.
"Yes, it’s been a few days since she last came back. The last time she visited, she mentioned that her husband was going out for work; I wonder if he has left yet."
"I originally planned to go over and take a look, but today Xiao Li is in the hospital, so I have to stay home to cook and watch the kids," Hao Chunying said.
She felt a bit uneasy about Ye Fangfei not returning for several days. Just two days ago, she had been mentioning wanting to visit, but with work, she couldn't find the time. Finally, today was her day off, and she wanted to check in.
Her daughter-in-law had thrown up again that morning and mentioned that her period was delayed, suspecting she might be pregnant. They had gone to the hospital for a check-up.
There was no choice; she could only stay home to look after the children.
"Xiao Li must be pregnant again. I saw her throwing up this morning," Wang Dazui remarked, always particularly attentive to such matters.
"They said her period has been late for a few days now. We'll have to wait for them to come back from the hospital to know for sure," Hao Chunying replied with a smile.
"There’s nothing to hide about it; they'll find out when they return from the hospital anyway."
"This is great news! Your family is about to welcome another grandchild," Aunt Sun chimed in.
"Hahaha, as long as it's a grandson or granddaughter, I’m not picky," Hao Chunying laughed.
After a moment of thought, she added, "I’m at ease with Zijun; now I just hope Feifei will give me a grandson soon, and I'll be completely satisfied."
As they were chatting, Ye Fangfei rode her bicycle from afar.
Hao Chunying had her back turned to the entrance and didn't see her coming.
However, Wang Dazui was facing the entrance directly and noticed someone approaching on a bike who looked like Ye Fangfei.
She turned to Hao Chunying and said, "Hey, Lao Hao, is that your Feifei coming over?"
