Gao Huaiqing had been feeling anxious and restless these past few days. After secretly signing up Gao Xiangchun for a rural program, she had hidden away and didn't dare to return home. She stayed at a classmate's house, which was far from Liuye Hutong, almost on the outskirts of the city. This was a deliberate choice by Gao Huaiqing; she was afraid that if she stayed closer, her family would find her.
At her classmate's home, everyone welcomed her warmly. Her classmate's parents even specially prepared meat for her to eat. The atmosphere at her classmate's house was comfortable; she didn’t have to do any chores and could enjoy good food. Her classmate’s older brother would take her out for fun.
Although Gao Huaiqing could be a bit petty, at her age, she was unaware that her classmate's family had ulterior motives regarding her presence. After staying at her classmate's house for several days, she kept secretly inquiring about news from home. When she learned that Gao Xiangchun had been hospitalized after hitting a wall, she felt even more reluctant to return.
Moreover, her classmate’s family kept insisting that she should feel at ease living with them. To be honest, she had nowhere else to go, so she continued staying there. Gradually, Gao Huaiqing began to enjoy this lifestyle and wished it could last forever. Perhaps sensing the change in her attitude, her classmate’s older brother confessed his feelings for her, and they naturally became a couple. When their parents found out that Gao Huaiqing was dating their son, they were delighted and bought meat to celebrate, insisting on drinking to toast the occasion.
It was on that day that Gao Huaiqing drank too much. When she woke up the next morning, she found herself in bed with her classmate’s older brother—her new boyfriend. As time went on, they unintentionally became intimate several times. It wasn’t until she missed her monthly period that Gao Huaiqing began to panic.
Although she was young, she had completed middle school and understood what it meant when her period was late. For a month, she had been anxiously hoping that one day her period would suddenly arrive. But to her disappointment, another month passed, and still, there was no sign of it. With the added nausea today, Gao Huaisheng began to suspect that she might be pregnant.
Gao Huaisheng was troubled about what to do next. Should she tell her family? When Li Xiaomei asked her about it, it relieved her of the dilemma; she simply nodded in agreement.
Li Xiaomei gasped in shock. She hadn’t expected this girl not only to have put her sister in a difficult position but also to have gotten herself into such a serious mess. "How could you be so foolish? Were you forced? Tell me who it was! I’ll have your father deal with him."
Li Xiaomei trembled with anger but didn’t dare to raise her voice. Although Gao Huaisheng felt scared too, she still defended herself: "Mom, I wasn’t forced. We’re in a relationship."
"In a relationship? With whom? How come I didn’t know?" Li Xiaomei pressed.
"My classmate's brother," Gao Huaisheng explained the situation vaguely to Li Xiaomei.
Li Xiaomei, being more experienced than her daughter, immediately realized that her girl had been taken advantage of.
