On the eighth day of the Lunar New Year, Tang Zhicheng and Ye Fangfei finally arrived at Beijing Station after getting off the car and transferring from the train. 0

With too many bags to carry home, Tang Zhicheng had no choice but to find a familiar face to borrow a cart. 0

“Wife, wait here. I’ll see if I can borrow a small cart,” he said, glancing at the large piles of luggage on the ground. 0

“Where are you going to borrow it from? Do you have any acquaintances at the train station?” Ye Fangfei asked, frowning at the sight of their belongings. 0

“I know a purchasing agent from a shoe factory; his family lives nearby the station. I heard him mention it during lunch. I’ll go check it out,” he replied. “If that doesn’t work, I’ll just pay someone nearby to rent one. We can’t just stand here and suffer; there’s always a way.” 0

Ye Fangfei nodded in agreement, realizing he had a point. “Alright, you go ahead. I’ll wait for you here.” 0

Tang Zhicheng handed her the thermos he was holding. “Wife, here’s some hot water; drink a few sips to warm up. I’ll be back soon.” After giving her a couple more reminders, he left the train station to find a cart. 0

As Ye Fangfei waited, she felt a bit cold but didn’t dare wander far, especially with so many bags around—losing them would be disastrous. With no other option, she hopped in place a few times and then jogged around their belongings to keep warm. 0

Fortunately, Tang Zhicheng didn’t make her wait long before returning with a small cart. Together, they loaded all their things onto it and began pushing it home. 0

Their house wasn’t far from the train station, but it wasn’t exactly close either. It took them over an hour of pushing the cart before they finally arrived home. 0

Ye Fangfei opened the front door while Tang Zhicheng pushed the cart into the yard. She then opened the door to the house, and together they carried everything inside. 0

The house had been unoccupied for over ten days and felt completely cold inside. Without wasting any time, Tang Zhicheng lit the stove to warm up the place. He placed a kettle on top to boil some water. 0

To heat things up quickly, he lit both stoves in the two rooms of their home. 0

Tang Zhicheng took out a small stool, wiped it clean, and placed it in front of the stove. 0

"Dear, you can sit here and rest for a while. It's too cold inside; it's warmer here. I’ll go return the cart first." 0

"Why don’t we wait until tomorrow to return it? The train station is quite far from our home, and it takes over an hour for a round trip. You must be tired too." Ye Fangfei felt concerned for Tang Zhicheng. 0

"It’s fine. I’ve already said I would return it after using it; I can’t go back on my word, can I?" 0

"Just rest here. I’ll drop it off and then take the bus back," Tang Zhicheng replied before heading out. 0

Seeing that he was determined, Ye Fangfei could only let him go. 0

Once he left, she couldn’t just sit idle either. The house hadn’t been lived in for several days, and everything needed tidying up. 0

Ye Fangfei first filled a basin with hot water and wiped down all the furniture in the house. Then she changed the sheets and covers in both rooms. Finally, she mopped the floor before considering her work done. 0

However, tidying up the house wasn’t enough; the kitchen also needed attention. Fortunately, the stove was still burning, so there was no shortage of hot water. 0

She filled another basin with hot water and scrubbed all the pots and pans again. Opening the cupboard, she checked the rice and flour inside; everything seemed fine, so she put them back. 0

Lastly, she mopped the kitchen floor as well. 0

After finishing up in the house, Ye Fangfei took a short break before grabbing a broom to clean the yard, collecting all the trash and disposing of it properly. 0
