"I told you to make some little clothes for the child of your third brother's wife and send them over, but you insisted on refusing. Do you think you're the only clever one? Your third brother's wife is a high school student; do you really think she can't keep up with you?" 0

"I was hoping that she could send some malted milk powder, so the little girl could get some nutrition. Now, it seems we'll just have to continue feeding her rice porridge," Tang Zhiwu said to Zhang Man, who was feeding the little girl rice porridge. 0

"I never expected her to be so calculative, being from the city," Zhang Man lamented, regretting her earlier thoughts. 0

"Calculative? Is that what you call it? When you gave birth to the little girl, your third brother's wife brought you brown sugar and fabric; she didn't treat you poorly at all. But now that she has had a child, you act as if you don't know anything. Do you think she doesn't have any opinions about that?" Tang Zhiwu replied. 0

"And you still expect her to send nutritional products? What a fantasy!" he added. 0

"Alright, alright, what's the point of discussing this now? It's not a solution for the little girl to keep eating rice porridge. Can you talk to your mother about getting some milk powder or malted milk for her? This child has been weak since birth, and I often worry she won't grow up healthy. Even though she's just a girl, I still hope she can grow up safely," Zhang Man said. Despite her preference for sons, the little girl was still a part of her, and she wanted the best for her. 0

"Not possible. If it were a boy's mother, maybe she'd consider buying some, but a girl wanting milk powder? What are you thinking?" Tang Zhiwu firmly rejected. 0

Sighing, Zhang Man looked at the frail little girl in her arms. She hadn't expected Ye Fangfei to be so heartless. Though she appeared gentle, when provoked, she could be harsher than anyone else. 0

Now that things had come to this point, all they could do was see if they could mend things in the future. Ye Fangfei acted as if she were unaware of what everyone back home thought; even if she did know, she wouldn't care. She had already made up her mind that from now on, matters at home would be left to Tang Zhicheng. She wouldn't do anything beyond her responsibilities. 0

In the afternoon, after sending off Hao Chunying and noticing there was still time left, Ye Fangfei decided to take the child to chat with Yao Feixue. She wrapped a few fried dough twists in oil paper and grabbed a couple of handfuls of potato chips before bundling up Little Moon in her cloak. 0

After locking the door, she headed to the courtyard to find Yao Feixue. 0

"Aunt Han, is Feixue home?" Ye Fangfei asked Yao Feixue's mother-in-law, Han Shengnan. 0

"Oh, it's Little Ye! Here to see Feixue? Come on in; she's resting inside," Han Shengnan replied as she sat in the living room mending clothes. 0

Yao Feixue heard some noise from inside the house and came out. "Feifei, come in quickly! I'm so bored." 0

Ye Fangfei smiled at Han Shengnan and followed Yao Feixue into her room. 0

Yao Feixue first took Little Moon over to play with her. "I haven't seen Little Moon in days! She's even prettier now, isn't she?" 0

After letting her enjoy the child for a moment, Ye Fangfei stepped forward to take the baby. "Alright, give her to me. She's small, but quite heavy. Don't wear yourself out." 0

Yao Feixue had married earlier than Ye Fangfei but became pregnant later. She was now four months along, and her belly was starting to show. 0

"Don't worry, it's not that delicate." Despite saying this, Yao Feixue still handed the child over to Ye Fangfei. 0

She had married a few months before Ye Fangfei, and it was only after Little Moon was born that she became pregnant. Therefore, she held her unborn child in the highest regard. 0

Ye Fangfei opened a paper bag in her hand. "These are the fried snacks I made—fried dough sticks and potato chips. Try them and see if you can eat any." 0

Since becoming pregnant, Yao Feixue's appetite had diminished, and she couldn't handle greasy foods. But how could she not eat anything at all? Especially with a child in her belly. 0

Not wanting to be polite, Yao Feixue took a potato chip and cautiously bit into it. 0

It was crispy and filled with the fragrant taste of soybean oil, surprisingly not greasy at all. After savoring it for a moment, she found that it didn't make her feel nauseous. 0
